For the leg of lamb, I think most people get a whole leg of lamb. That was way too much for me and I think the butcher thought I was confused when I asked for less and asked me what I was doing with it. He ended up saying he could give me a half leg of lamb and I agreed. Thar was about 3 and a half pounds (bone included) which was the perfect amount. I seared it and then braised it and the meat fell off the bone. Delicious and the price was pretty good. I was cooking my first pork chop and decided to come here to get it. Their pork isn't labeled as Berkshire or Duroc or anything but that probably keeps the price down. For chops, they had boneless, bone in, and double cut (which was also bone in). I mentioned I wanted it to be about 2 inches thick and the butcher said to get the double cut.I got 2 beautiful thick pork chops for $6.99 a pound so about $18 total. The regular cut bone in pork chops were the same price though obviously smaller. I brined this overnight and reverse seared it and it was great. The chop was a loin chop- loin and then a tenderloin nugget- not a pure rib chop. Cooked really nicely and was tender which I think was partially the overnight brine and also their pork. They do sell some vegetables and grocery supplies if you want to just make a single stop. They also have a deli with some sandwiches that looked good and prepared foods. I was very focused on buying the things I came in for and getting on with my day both times but I would like to take a closer look in the future as it looked good. Solid butcher shop and clearly loved since it was busy both on a weekend and during the week. I'm sure I will be back.

A roast beef for hubby and turkey havarti cheese in Dutch Crunch for me. At the concert, hubby thought the bread was too dry and didn't like the sandwich. My turkey meat was good but I'd agree the bread wasn't so great. I ate the leftover 1/2 sandwich at home the next day and it was better after putting it thru the toaster oven. But I think sandwiches taste better from the nearby Safeway even.

There are numerous outdoor tables, but they are in close proximity to Highway One and all its fumes and car/truck/motorcycle traffic noise. Indoors was my preference. The restaurant is spacious, and very much in the American BBQ mode. The tables are in several shapes and sizes, all with polished plank surfaces. Mine rocked easily though, despite a circular base, and no steady position could be found. My order was the Brisket Melt ($18). The bread was very nicely done grilled sourdough. The brisket was generous, falling out the side with each bite. It had a jalapeno taste which quite effectively masked the actual flavor of the meat as well as any complexity of the BBQ sauce. Too bad, since I like the flavor of brisket, so a star off for that. The menu description of this sando included caramelized onions, mayo, pickles, BBQ sauce and melted cheddar cheese. I did not ask for jalapenos, and they certainly did not contribute to the flavor. A bright spot was the availability of bottled Lone Star beer, quite rare here in California.
