My wife and I came in for a couples massage last Sunday and had a great experience. We both did 60 min combo massages with the beach feet add on. The spa was clean and the atmosphere was relaxing and tranquil. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and my wife and I both agreed it was the best massages we have ever gotten. This was easily the most amazing massage I've ever had. Being a fitness instructor, I had a lot of issues and tightness. Lauren took the time to really work out the knots and tightness instead of just going through the motions. She allowed there to be full silence which is exactly what I needed. She checked in to make sure the pressure was ok and provided water for me as I walked out of the room. The location is SO beautiful and they had wine and chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day weekend. The front desk lady was so kind and it was just such great energy. Carrie was great about establishing the right amount of pressure at the beginning and carrying it through the entire massage. I have had several services done here at the Sand Spa and honestly it's the only place I'll go now for my self care needs. I usually stick with massages (Julia always has me feeling like a new person when I leave and I request her every time I can) but I've also now started booking facials AFTER my massage appointments. I have very sensitive skin so I started with their standard European facial. LOVED IT. Proud to say I was one of the very first customers at this new spa on Highland; and will definitely be a repeat customer. It was their grand opening today so I got a massage by Carmen - 60 minutes for only $49. This was only a special price for their opening but their website has the prices listed and very much worth it. Only had a few other massages at spas in the past but this one certainly combined a high end feel with a good massage and cost a lot less than other places. Other than that not a bad location and they make the most of the spot. Also the girl who greeted me out front was very helpful - gotta give em points for that! read more

But right is right, need to give a great review when it's deserved! If you look at my previous reviews, I have a physically demanding job and have gotten massages frequently, and often, all over this town and country. Googled for a local neighborhood joint last week because I was worried about traffic on a Friday to BW Santa Monica, and am I glad I did! They were able to fit me in with Caitlin, and she worked on my knots like no one has done in ages! So much so, for the first time in my life, I went back to the same therapist one week later! I purchased a very reasonable package and am fresh from my second massage with her, relaxed and happy. Caitlin has 6 years experience, has a great, friendly attitude and gives a great massage. I came here to get a facial and 90min massage before I went to their nail salon down the street. They just introduced the hydra facial so I decided to do that. Let me tell you.. AMAZING! My skin has never felt so good and it is absolutely glowing. The hydra facial has a few steps and it literally sucks the black heads out of your skin. Seriously results driven and you still feel super relaxed and pampered. The massage I got during my facial was exceptional. I think the ladies name was Joy. Next my massage was really really great, not like a mediocre experience I'm talking these services are by experts. I always have had a bad right shoulder and it kind of tugs on my neck/trap area and this man was a miracle worker. I believe his name was Landan. I felt at ease and pampered and when I got off the table my right shoulder felt released. All the tension I was carrying melted away. I don't know who started sand spa but they can't miss. Top notch.
