Definitely a cool experience. Been eyeing this place for awhile. Curiosity got the better of me and decided to spend the $$. Tips: make a reservation online. Get there on time to sign in on one of the tablets up front. Be prepared to wait for your turn. Go with a group of friends so you don't have to get grouped with randos. If you're a scaredy cat, do the futuristic Amber Sky 2088 VR experience vs the zombie or pirate. You shoot at aliens and the graphics are super cool. I dinged one star because the wait was very long. Reservation was at 7:45p, we left around 9:30p. There's a long wait due to all the cleaning in between and the individual set up per person to actually start the VR experience. Also, my headset stopped working unexpectedly and the pause during the session really messed up the experience. They had to do a hard reset to my headset which took a few minutes. Not a huge deal but it derailed the experience for me. Not sure I'll be back unless I had a large group to go with. Definitely cool to try at least once. read more

Went there last Sunday for squid game. The sensors were a bit confusing to put on at the beginning by ourselves but the young lady with glass (maybe the supervisor I guess) who works there was very friendly and helped us to set things straight. The game itself was awesome and didn't feel dizzy at all although I always have problem with psvr and quest headset. the headset was less than perfect though because it kept echoing which was annoying. We booked a last minute session for my son's birthday with 4 of his friends. There were lots of times available online and although we didn't have 6 people for a private session the boys had the room to themselves. Check-in was easy and Josh was very patient with helping the boys get set up. The equipment wasn't easy to put on so definitely arrive at least 15 minutes before your session. Josh was upbeat and friendly and I was able to stay in the room and take pictures. The boys had a blast playing Squid Game. They all agreed it was better than the ones they've done before. The actual VR was about 30 minutes and they added a short VR birthday party for my son. Afterwards they watch a short video of themselves playing which we were able to download as well. Overall it's a bit pricey but for a special occasion it's definitely worth it. read more

I would not recommend this place. We dealt with an employee named Rebecca who was working tonight, supposedly a manager but discriminated against my son. My son was excited to play, met all requirements but because she saw him get frustrated that his dad was able to play before him, she wouldn't let my husband and son play and join another group. My son may express moments of frustration but that's only because he loves to play VR games, no matter what type of game it is. He is capable of participating in large groups and wear the equipment. He was only upset and cried because he wanted to play, Rebecca didn't even give a him a chance. For a company that promotes family friendly environments.. this is not one. What a great experience! My son celebrated his 14th birthday here. Him and his friends had a blast!! They chose the Deadwood Mansion experience and there was so much yelling, screaming and laughing. What a great time! First time trying this kind of experience and it was really fun. I went with a party of 5 and Melody helped us out. She was great and super patient with us and all of our questions. We had a lot of fun doing the Davy Jones experience. The game itself took 30 mins but we were there for maybe 45min to an hour because of the orientation/set up. You get a cool video at the end. We want to come back and try the zombie one next. Totally worth it! Pro tip, if you get motion sickness make sure to take Dramamine or Meclizine at least 30 min prior to showing up, it will really help afterwards! read more

This experience was amazing LOL! Came here with a group of 5 on a Tuesday evening after having some sushi. Great time to come by the way - only 1 or 2 other groups were here. I believe Alex helped us gear up and she was super professional and nice. The experience itself was insane, our group of 5 is our gaming group - so fighting zombies together in virtual reality together was truly insane and memorable. They had special lenses for glasses-wearers like myself which was a nice surprise. We also had cubbies in our space to store our stuff. DISAPPOINTING. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! If what my group and I experienced is REALLY what was "normal" for this place, then DON'T DO IT. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. We had a group of 6 and had an evening appointment. We arrived 15 minutes early as instructed, but did not get a room until 1.5 hours AFTER our reservation time (almost 2 hours of waiting)! Staff seemed rushed and extremely busy, but friendly/professional enough which we appreciated. Setting up gear was haphazard as our game master had to keep running in and out of the room scrambling to find us gear, as well as trying to fix our software and battery issues. During the game, we had to pause at least 3-4x due to 2 players' equipment issues (guns not working, screen "blacking/whiting out"). Each pause lasted between 5-8 minutes. Long enough that it was definitely disrupting and took us out of the excitement and flow of the game. Our game master tried his best to address it quickly, but he was also bouncing from different rooms so it still took time. Finally, we entered a 3rd stage in the game which seemed like we were supposed to continue with the storyline - but LITERALLY for at least 10-15 minutes NOTHING was happening (no zombies, no action, etc.) and our group just stood there calling out to our game master for help! By the time he came back, he told us that the game was over and that we went OVER time??? It didn't even feel like an ending, there was no closure to the story?? And even if that was it - due to all the pauses and tech issues and waiting, it didn't even feel like we played much at all! The cherry on top is the fact that at the end, the game master said that the "video isn't loading but we'll send you a link". WHERE?? It's been several days and there was nothing sent to us. The video was something we were excited to watch and was definitely part of what we were supposed to pay for! In the end, another guy walked by asking "how was your experience" and when we said "not good" he automatically said "so sorry to hear that" and LEFT. SO IS THIS A NORMAL THING? This must happen A LOT!! Not even phased by 6 people's disappointed and concerned expressions. We waited around to try to speak to someone but everyone was so busy we didn't want to bother them any further. We emailed the company website to share what happened and ask for some sort of compensation - never heard back from them. I left a voicemail - haven't heard back either. If even after this Yelp review no one reaches out to me, then this is 1000% PROOF that this company is a SCAM and NEGLIGENT in their customer service and quality assurance!!! If you're understaffed, don't take on reservations you cannot maintain. Order more supplies and batteries if you know they die off by the end of the day! It was so fun with a group of 2 and then 4 of us! We went on a Wednesday night, meaning there was nobody there and we didn't have to be with strangers during the experience. It got really hot and sweaty for both experiences and so I would definitely come ready for that. The only negative I would say is that the headsets get all gross and I was a little afraid of putting it on. They do clean it thoroughly but I would strongly recommend using disposable VR face masks to further protect the headsets. I can't even imagine the headsets when someone with makeup uses them! But luckily, my boyfriend brought his own masks because he's a VR buff. Thank you to Logan (i think that was his name. Sorry if it's not!) for helping us out for both experiences! SVR does not disappoint! Took the 3 grand kids and, of course, grandpa. When you see your game room, your mind can't possibly imagine the fun that lay in store for you. Our concierge was John, he was fantastic, engaging and patient. He took his time helping us gear up and answering our questions. (There's a lot of gear, lol.) John created each of our virtual personas and took our portrait pictures. Grandpa put his game face on, which was hysterical. We chose the Amber Sky 2088 (because it looked like the most fun). I watched the videos of the VRs we might have been interested in and it seemed to have the most diverse action. It did not disappoint. You are definitely immersed in another realm. What a blast. You won't have a moment to be bored or take a breath. The action never stops. Strangely, it made VR game play time stretch out. Already planning on booking grandpa's surprise birthday party this June because he had so much fun! The only bummer is that you can't go above 6 players per room so I'll have to book two separate rooms. No matter, everyone can still play the same game or even a different one. You can choose at the last minute which can be kind of convenient. Booking online is very convenient, but I still had to call to get some of my questions answered being our first time at this. When you are all done saving the planet, they bring you back to the lobby to show some highlights of your group's game and who scored what. There are really two videos they make for you. It's actually pretty well done and you have fun all over again watching them. It flips back and forth between your natural self and your character robot self, so it's funny to see yourself acting a fool. AND they email you a link to the videos so you can share with other people. (Great marketing tool.) I downloaded ours so I can keep them for posterity. The fact that I was the high scorer in our group MAY have been my motivation. LOL When you are finished with your game there's sort of an exit chat as they want you to come back, so they offer you a discounted booking if you purchase it before you leave (which we did). You only have to buy 2 people and can add on later. It at least secures your discount. You can schedule a date at a later time. Highly recommended! We will be back. read more

5-star review and a major shout out to our host, Jon. Booking online was very easy and straight forward. I realized we needed to bring an extra person after signing up for a group of 5. I called, worried it would be too late to add one person, Jon greeted me so kindly and not to worry and that we would take care of it in the store. Arrived to a very clean, very kind group who welcomed us as this was our first time. Jon walked us through how to set things up, wasn't afraid to help my small children who needed some help and was so so friendly the whole time. Everyone was very comfortable and he explained and answered any questions we had. He was so nice , like we literally had a 5 start customer service experience there thanks to this guy. The gaming experience was so fun and so nice too! I've never had a experience like this before and my family and I are avid gamers. I usually get motion sickness playing VR but maybe because this is a physical activity, I didn't. Jon even warned us that we may want to take our coats off because it gets very hot in there. That little detail helped us even have more fun because he was right! We were definitely sweating in there with how much fun and activity there was in the game!! If I could I would give this place a 0. I can not express how awful the entire day was. The customer service we received the ENTIRE time we were there was despicable. The employees are disengaged, showing no interest in the guests. We booked a party for 2 hours. First of all, it would be helpful for those that have a special event booked given the advance warning if other special events are occurring at the same time. At our arrival time there was also a Santa meet and greet, Farmer's Market and Ice Skating ring that took up a big portion of the parking lot. We got there an hour early, but for our guests it was a stressor finding parking. Our entire party was onsite at 1pm for our 1:20pm start time. There was no communication for the delay by the staff. At about 1:40pm I saw no one was getting our group together. I went to an employee to inquire about their game. He was very apologetic, let us know the game ahead of us ran behind and they would be right with us as soon as everything was cleaned up and set up. I let them know we had a 2 hour slot/3 games and was worried about the timing. Two employees reassured me that I would be fine and the 2 hours would begin when they actually would start with the group. Which was fine, I understood and was ok with them adjusting the time. Kids played 1 round. We were asked if we wanted to pause for cake and food and I said no let them keep playing. When the second game ended the employee, informs me that his manager Mya told him they could not honor the 2 hour reservation because they are "fully booked". Instructed us that we had to leave. He was very sorry and kind but understandably I was very upset as that is not what I paid for. My son, who was celebrating his 10th birthday didn't even play, letting his friends go first thinking another game was to be played. The employee stated, "I noticed that and told my manager but she says we can't play another game." Mind you at this time it was 3pm. We still had another 20 minutes even if we were going by 1:20pm. Instead of wasting time going back and forth, the kids could have been playing. I asked to speak to Mya. At my first request she never came, completely ignored me. I went over to her where I was met with the worst attitude. No apologies. She took no accountability. After I explained to her that it was her staff that started our party late she offered another time that was 3 HOURS later that evening. How was I going to entertain 10 year old boys for 3 hours there? Use some common sense moron. I can not even begin to explain how awful she was. No service recovery. The way she was kicking us out was the way she should have kicked out the party that ran late ahead of us. There is no excuse for her behavior. The facility was also dirty. No garbage cans, the one they did have was small and full the entire time we were there. For the amount we were charged this is not what we expected. This company should be ashamed of its practices occurring in San Ramon. Please be aware and don't let this happen to your kiddo. They were so disappointed and sad. read more

I booked it with my son and 3 other friends of his and all our first time. Well the staff told us to wear this specific color sensors then had us all remove them again because he made a mistake. Stopped the game twice because the kids were too loud screaming- who wouldnt when you are being chased by zombies. They were not saying any profanity or anything disrespectful. How can you enjoy being immersed when someone is trying to supress you. What a joke. We all left with a bad taste and never coming back. Didn't even get a chance to play. Someone from our party told us they were running behind and that our reservations were moved to 6:15 and not 5:45. We get there at 5:50 (policy says to be there 15 min before reservations) and were told that we had to be here at 5:45 at our original booking. It just seemed very inconsiderate of our time. You want us to be early to sit there and wait but you can run behind? I asked for a refund but got credit... reasoning: our policy says if you cancel within 24 hours credit only. But I didn't cancel, they were running behind and we stuck to the policy of being there 15 min before. They choose when to follow their policy when it's convenient for them and haven't found a way to accommodate customers when it's their fault they're running behind. I will say Mya (manager on duty) tried to help as best she could. She was patient, kind, and respectful I assume it was out of her control to issue the refund. She did call later after to follow up that she called her DM so I appreciate her help. read more

1. Don't ever buy a gift card for here , we had 2 different gift cards that had 0$ balances when one was 100$ and the other was 200$ and another had 50$. When I was leaving I said "I still have a balance on 1 gift card because it was only 288$ for today and my gift cards were worth 350" "He said no I had all of them voided" !!!! So money on gift cards means nothing to them. 2. Gift cards can't be used at any location only the location there at 3. If you have issues with anything staff doesn't care 4. Management doesn't call back when you call 3 days in a row trying to figure out gift card issues 5. Staff doesn't listen to you when you ask for thing like can you turn the head sets down (it sounded like our party was SCREAMING when they weren't 6. Lack of direction from the staff The staff is what made the experience horrible we have been to the San Mateo location and it was fun we ran in to computer issues there but the staff was AWESOME and made it all better. read more

The only reason it's not one star is because a couple members of my party had a relatively cool experience. Poor setup/ communication about the environment: would have been nice to be warned about the noise level when we arrived. The whole set up seemed engineered to echo the screams and shrieks of the other players and there was nowhere quiet to wait. If you're regularly not going to start on time, provide somewhere to wait or don't hook us up so we can't wait outside. Maybe a pager situation where we can hang around elsewhere? That would have helped tremendously. -lateness: It seems ridiculous to have such a strict policy when there's no accountability for time on the side of the business -the service: aside from the girl who checked us in initially, who was fantastic, the people in the room- the person who equipped us and the person who collected the equipment- were inhospitable, rude, and acted like we were a chore. The person at the end who collected the props barely said a word to us and when asked about where to put an item just said "basket" and walked away. There were equipment issues and the person seemed to do anything except replace the equipment. I'm not sure if it was poor training or something else, but I didn't feel like any of us were in good hands -equipment: the most disappointing part of the experience. For the exorbitant price, you would expect professional equipment. One of our vests was falling apart and wouldn't zip, which led to very few sensations which created a lack of awareness in the game. The headsets hardly worked, and multiple members of our party could not hear the game, missed the tutorial, and couldn't hear much OTHER than the shrieking of the players in other rooms. I asked several times for help with the headset and the team member seemed annoyed. How are you supposed to enjoy an immersive experience if you can't hear anything or feel anything? Overall just incredibly disappointing. We were looking forward to this for most of the year, and in the end are just out almost 300 bucks and a headache from all the screaming. I suppose if the headsets worked it wouldn't have been so horrible, but waiting after stressing on getting there, waiting surrounded by echoing screams and thinking that you'll finally get a break when the game starts, and then just hearing that instead of the experience? Miserable. I won't be recommending this to anyone. This was the most disappointing (and expensive) experience in a while. read more
