Carnivore pizza

Stopped in this afternoon with a friend to get information about renting space for a small college graduation party , as we were going to leave to get lunch we decided to walk by the food truck out front and it was a pizza truck ( and I love a good pizza) so we decided to give it a try and stay for a drink. Pizza was really good! We had a high top table in the bar and the atmosphere was nice. Just an overall nice place to hang out with friends! Staff is always friendly and inviting.

I originally reviewed Sandia Bar, or so I thought. Love this place! The drinks are outstanding, a variety of beers and the service with a smile is perfect. It's a great place to relax after a long day or the perfect place to get your afternoon started. Looking forward to cooler weather so I can sit on the rooftop and watch the leaves change.

Finally found a nice local bar; good atmosphere and a great place to hang out. Why are there so few bars like this in Albuquerque?

Anyone know if Sandia Bar is dog friendly? Tried to call them but no answer?

Yes! Their is a large outdoor area but I have seen multiple dogs inside- they do not serve food inside so I don't think it's a conflict :)

They were training a really young guy as host and he was really nervous, dropping silverware and repeating himself (understandable). But, the front door was open and there was none of the speakeasy entrance vibe that adds to the fun. Our waiter was attentive but slow to return with drinks ordered, missing a cup of coffee and about 10 minutes for a draft beer. A few of us ordered the prime rib, which was cooked perfectly but served without any au jus or horseradish. Don't know if it was even an option as it wasn't on the menu and our waiter didn't return until we were done eating. After about 10 minutes from getting our meals served, I had to hunt down our waiter and ask for a couple of steak knives as the table knives were not cutting it (literally). The gentleman at the next table had ordered the rib-eye and was using a hefty steak knife so we knew this was an omission. For the price and the hype, I expected more. Especially for a place that calls itself a "speakeasy" and not just a restaurant. I'm not sure if the speakeasy vibe is solely for in the evening or not but it was a disappointment that brunch service had no special vibe.

The drink menu is impressive, with a wide selection of creative cocktails, and the bartender was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, offering great recommendations. Had the jungle bird, which was properly bitter if you're into that. The marikoriko was sweet and fruity, way easy to drink. The Saturn was also wonderfully fruity and easy to drink. I didn't bother with the mai tai because they use kraken instead of an actual funky Caribbean rum, which is wild because they carry Meyers. Probably my biggest critique is to funkify that Mai Tai yo! Float of kraken if you must, but use some Caribbean rum in there! Service was great, atmosphere left room for improvement. Great for a casual few drinks with your meal. Solid spot! Would return again.

Its a fun place and I love the casino but this kinda seems like a sidenote they just stuck in after everything else was built. Its crazy because they have the space, but they use it for restaurants or ballrooms that are always empty. But the lounge is super popular even though it's nothing special at all and way too small. It's the only thing that I don't like about this casino I'll say though. Oh yeah and the staff is rude as hell and don't question anything or complain or they will throw you out. They throw everybody out for anything they want. It's kinda laughable really as a lounge. I'd call it the after thought spot.

They even added a second bar area! whoa!! if ya all haven't been there in awhile you should check it out! I've never been fond of this lounge/bar because it is brightly lit. Since this lounge is located smack dab basically in the middle of the casino there is no real way for the lights to be dim. Also its in the area where there are slots & noise from the casino floor. Luckily for most when there is a live band that drowns out that outside noise but is still bright. I'm thrilled with the remodel but I think more could have been done to upgrade this bar/lounge. Just to let ya all know... When and if Fat City plays at this lounge in the future you should definitely go!! Fat City rocks the house when they are there!!!!

We had a reservation for 11:30am and arrived on time, but ended up waiting outside for about 10 minutes with no staff in sight. We called multiple times for assistance before anyone came out. To make matters worse, the friend who made the reservation was never informed that brunch is held in the private club and not the e restaurant, which caused unnecessary confusion right from the start. Once a waiter finally found us, we were taken to the private club where we were told they only had three brunch menu items available that day. We ordered immediately, along with waters and mimosas. Keep in mind, there were only two tables total--our group of three and another group of seven--so it wasn't busy. Despite that, service was extremely slow. It took 20 minutes just to get our mimosas, and our waters were forgotten and didn't come out until another 10 minutes later. Our food took about 40 minutes, which felt excessive given how few people were there. Even more frustrating, my friends' meals came out about 10 minutes before mine. There's really no reason meals at the same table shouldn't be served together. The food itself was just okay. The only standout was the French toast, which was actually really good--and honestly the only reason this review isn't one star. I also ordered coffee and was told they don't carry creamer, which is surprising for a place offering brunch. Our waitress rarely checked on us throughout the meal, which added to the overall lack of service. Between the confusion, long wait times, and lack of attention, this experience didn't meet expectations. I won't be returning.
