Came in Saturday afternoon to watch the Lobos play in the Rate Bowl. Place wasn't too busy when we got there but filled up fast. Jack and Coke was fantastic but the draft XX could have been colder. We had wings, nachos, red chile fries and chicken tenders. All were tasty. Bartender had the entire bar but she did great. In town for work. Day off and went looking for lunch. Was here on a Wednesday, saw the specials walking in - $4 margarita $4 chips and salsa $1 tacos. I had that and more. Was a great scene, music, good channels on the TVs. My servicer / Bartender Courtney was exceptional to put it mildly. The restaurant had a good crowd going inside and out. She was very attentive and ran around to all tables that I saw. Huge shout out. Food was awesome, all Covid rules applied, felt safe of course. Will be back. read more

Passing through Albuquerque on a road trip and stopped in for late night dinner and drinks before going to our Airbnb (most restaurants shut around 9 PM on a weekday). Louie's had decent reviews and was open until midnight, which is how we found it. Bottled beer ice cold, excellent cheeseburger and onion rings, and our server was great. Prompt, friendly and honest in her recommendations. Definitely recommend! Outdoor patio a plus. read more

Long time, faithful customer of Louie's, but the prices have become ridiculous. $7 for a 12oz Tecate can is insulting. Other drinks are similar, some are reasonable , but local competitors remain to have cheaper prices. The pool crowd is great, and they are carrying business, but that might not last long. I've certainly noticed less customers and have heard the negative buzz about the prices. It's a shame, because it's a beautiful bar, with great bartenders, and delicious food, especially their New Mexican menu. It could be 5 stars, again! read more

Louies pub is a smaller bar that has really courteous and attentive wait staff. It has an older style pub type feel with some TV's and pool tables. My favorite thing about Louie's is their wings. Dive bars. Unfortunately, they're truly a dying breed in Burque, and I mean that in all seriousness. When I moved here this city was basically defined by dives, and places that knew how to serve up, I dunno, a decent Long Island iced tea -- like Anodyne -- were actually considered somewhat upscale. But times they are a changin' and it's genuinely challenging, these days, to find a windowless den pouring watery Jack 'n Cokes while you jam some ACDC and shoot pool. For this reason alone, I'm a big fan of Louie's. This week we held a work-related event on a lazy Tuesday night, and the evening delivered exactly what I've experienced from this place over the past 10-15 years: bar food (wangs, chile cheese fries, nachos that get soggy in a heartbeat, sliders), karaoke (typically a Thursday thing, I think), a smattering of fair-priced well drinks and the usual haunt of a handful of talkative regulars. Louie's actually doesn't quite measure up to Dive for me, it's a tad too clean, I've never witnessed any ugly stuff brewing in the corners, the pool tables are kept in good condition and there's a decent selection of local craft beer on tap. But it's the kind of place where you can absolutely drown your sorrows, you know, get a drink with a friend and cry about the breakup or the ex or what have you, and nobody will care, or get in your business. We could use a lot more Louie's. read more

I LOVE LOUIE'S. Dark and divey, a fun place to have drinks and watch a game on one of their many TV's. Always a friendly environment; it's the only bar I feel comfortable with coming to alone. There are three pool tables, and I have never seen all three being used at one time. They have 24 beers on tap, including local favorites such as Marble. Their wings are delicious!!! They have seasoning on them that is pretty spicy, then you can dunk 'em in hot sauce and ranch/blue cheese. The bartenders are the best!! Helpful from the second you walk in the door. Everyone seems to know everyone by name in this place. I love to come here and will be back often. read more

Tons of regular players on three 7' tables $1.00/game with one usually serving as a challenge table. Other repairs to bar done and looks better than it has in years. I like Louie's Pub its been a place I've spent many a evening. Having a yelp event there made it even more special. It was so nice to see my fellow yelpers overcome their fears of public singing and get up there and belt one out. The best singers were just as entertaining as the not so best singers but I'm sure to guess everyone had a blast! I love the computer technology that is being used to sign up for a song; its easy and convenient. Thank you for the free drink it helped relaxed us enough to get up there n sing our little hearts out! Louie's is a great little pub. It's everything you would expect in a pub. Dim lighting, pub food, stiff drinks and pool tables. Louie's pub food comes with great prices! They also have a great happy hour!! First time we went there, one waitress who only paid attention to the regulars. Left our food that was ready sitting behind the counter for 20 minutes. Second time, waitress tried to balance two drinks in one small hand. My entire beer spilled all over my lap as she tried to set it down. I get that drinks spill all the time but this could have easily been avoided. When the glass broke, I got a bleeding cut on my hand. Barely received an apology and had to ask for the towel to dry myself off and for the bandaid. Now I've never asked for a comped meal my entire life but I think when you physically injure a customer, the meal should probably be comped, not just the beer you spilled because you couldn't bother to get a tray. read more

OH goodness. This place. Its not a terrible place by any means but I do not enjoy it at all what so ever. I think I will do a list type of thing... The ambiance is terrible. The jukebox plays way to loud even with a half empty bar you can hear the people talking next to you. The waitress never brings you drinks. The tables were dirty. The nacho cheese tasted like old dirt. The roof was leaking The only reason its a 2 instead of a 1 is because the tacos were average and they were 50 cents. I might ... maybe ... could bump it to a 3 if we could of gotten any type of service at all. How hard is it to bring a group of 4 a second round of beers after they have been there over an hour...? Only one waitress/ bartender/ greeter was working but she was friendly, fast and did not seemed frazzled which you could expect when its only one person. Came here for karaoke night with a friend recently. Not a bad joint, but not great. Not pricey, but not cheap. The place didn't seam very clean. The bathroom was super dirty and one of the stalls doesn't lock well. I brought this to the attention of one of the staff members, who just shrugged it off. Staff was not very welcoming. Came to this place because it was close and open after the gym. When we entered there was not many people we ordered drinks from the Thursday special. They also had .50 cent wings. I ordered 5 wings and when I got them they were a little on the crispy side. 9 o'clock came around and more people showed up for the karaoke night which was awesome there are some great singers there. However the service started to slow down and the waiter would go to the regulars and then come to our table. read more

Louie's is a new Tuesday night location for Geeks Who Drink and last night was my first exposure to both. Contrary to other reviewers, my GWD team of six received excellent service: drinks never got empty and our food was delivered quickly. We only tried the green chile (Not chili!) fries and nachos, but both tasted far better than the usual bar fare. In fact, the green is one of the better tasting I've had in the city, albeit a bit on the mild side. Our only complaint is that the portions were really small for the price, at least for those two items. Overall, a great experience with friendly waitstaff and solid food. I'll be back. read more

Shockingly good food for a tiny pub such as this one. The Uptown Turkey (turkey, Swiss, green chiles) on sourdough bread was very satisfying. The bread was grilled just right: enough butter to give it that irresistible golden color and give it a slight crunch, rather than greasy and gooey. The chiles had a nice heat and the cheese brought it all together. All others at the tables were equally satisfied with their food (burgers, nachos, beer-battered fries, and tacos). Although we waited quite a while for our food, it was definitely worth the wait. The service was good (nothing out of this world but not bad either) and the prices were cheap; around $7 per entree. From the moment I stepped into this place I said to myself wtf!!! BUT, (and that's in all CAPS because it's a significant BUT) I was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality and great customer service from the bartender and the friendliness of the local patrons who seemed to be regulars at the joint. I had these amazing wings with their "special seasoning" and insightful conversations about the pitfalls of the death penalty and benefits of being a vegan... I know those convos don't even match but when your first thought about a place is wtf you tend to go with the flow. It was my first time ever being in New Mexico and I can honestly say it exceeded my expectations. I've been to Louie's a couple of times, and it's a pretty good little bar. It's away from the downtown scene with ample parking, but good luck getting on the list for karaoke. It's hard to get your Journey on with appropriate enthusiasm when you've been waiting 45-60 minutes. The drinks are good and decently priced, and I am hopelessly in love with their green chile cheese fries. They are amazing. Seriously. I also liked the fried zucchini. read more
