We needed a complete over-haul incorporating the kitchen with the dining room. They reconfigured walls, moved the sink, installed a new window and new door. They replaced the cabinets and installed a beautiful quartz countertop and backsplash. We ended up having them resurface and paint the living room walls since the kitchen walls looked so good (we went from textured to flat). There were carpenters, plumbers, electricians, an amazing sheetrock team and other specialists that helped with everything. All of the professionals that did work, did everything according to code and I'm happy with the end result and quality of work inside and out. Communication throughout the entire process was always constant (we had a text thread going that we could reply to anytime). They planned out the order of work and explained everything I wanted to know more about. They helped refine our design and were open to suggestions to help me make better decisions and get the results I wanted. We bought/stained pressure treated lumber and did the demo work of pulling up the old porch. We soon discovered to our dismay that the underlying frame and columns holding up the veranda were varying degrees of rotted-out and needed to be replaced entirely. We wanted the job done right, and so we decided to find a contractor to work with. After doing some research on Yelp, I reached out to a handful of deck building specialists. Originally, Deck N Cable Railing wasn't even on my radar. Yelp has the function that if you click a button, it'll automatically duplicate your request and send it to an additional handful of businesses. I didn't even realize that I had accidentally done this. I'm so glad I did because Deck N Cable Railing was one of the businesses that Yelp sent my way. First off, they were very fast at responding to my request for info. They reached out, asked for a bit of additional information, and then offered to come out to give a free estimate in person within 24 hours. Juan Pena, the owner, arrived on time for the appointment. He listened attentively to our needs and evaluated the job that needed to be done quickly, efficiently, and thoroughly. He was sensitive to our desire to not let the lumber we had already bought/stained go to waste and made a plan to utilize it. He was also able to give us a quote on the spot which was really helpful. On the day of the installation, Juan arrived with his crew members, Jovial and Alejandro, to help get this situated for the job before he left for the day to attend to other projects. Jovial and Alejandro spoke limited English, but they used their smartphones and Google Translate to communicate with me when a question came up and so communication worked out just fine. Jovial and Alejandro were friendly, professional,and very hard workers. They were fast and fastidious and kept the job site neat. Juan had said that it may take up to two days to finish the job, but his crew were almost complete by the end of the first day. There was a minor issue with the frame visibly sticking out just a bit at one corner of the terminating edge of the porch. It wasn't a structural issue, more of a minor cosmetic issue, but I discussed the issue with Juan, and he immediately came up with a suitable solution to address my concerns. He joined Jovial and Alejandro on the morning of the second day of the installation to personally inspect their work. The job was finished within an hour or two on the second day. All in all, Juan and his team did an excellent job with the porch. It looks fantastic and feels exceptionally sturdy. We're very happy with the quality of the work, and we are looking forward to enjoying it for many years to come. We'd recommend Deck N Cable Railing without reservation based on the quality and efficiency of their work alone, but that's not the only reason you should consider giving them a call. Juan was very easy to work with. He's professional, responsive, friendly, and conscientious. He takes a lot of pride in his work and it's important to him that his clients are 100% satisfied with the work done. Moreover, his pricing is very reasonable. His quote for the job was by far the most reasonably and competitively priced bid. Finally, and this is a bit embarrassing, I accidentally overpaid for the job. I paid Juan in cash, handing him an envelope with cash, without realizing that I had miscounted it. Imagine my surprise when I got a call from Juan that evening (apologizing for calling so late!), to let me know that I overpaid him, and he wanted to schedule a time when it was convenient for me for him to stop by in person to return the amount I overpaid. That's integrity, folks. If, like me, Deck N Cable Railing isn't on your radar, they should be. Solid 5 stars.

Despite the many 5 star reviews, we had a pretty awful experience working with JP Exteriors. It…read morestarted when we accepted a bid to replace our entire house with Andersen 100 windows. We signed the contract and put a deposit for half the entire amount. After we signed the contract and put in our half deposit, we were informed that 2 of our windows are arched and Andersen 100 doesn't make arched windows. They said we could replace our front of the house windows with Andersen 400 or Simonton. Simonton is supposedly a less expensive window than Andersen's 100 series. But, they quoted us a higher price to replace the front windows with Simonton than we were quoted for the same windows in Andersen 100. We ended up ordering Simonton Windows with grids for our entire house. We had already paid ($15,000) from our original contract and we were locked in with JP Exteriors. On window installation day, we noticed that there was one window at the front of the house missing a horizontal grid. They let us know that they could get us a "great price" to replace the window that we had already paid for with the proper grid. They also left several small projects unfinished including painting the trim around 2 windows, filling interiors holes around 3 windows, fixing an interior window sill that was damaged during window installation. Ultimately, the window that was missing a horizontal grid was replaced at no additional cost to us and the remaining unfinished items were all competed in a satisfactory manner. However the replaced window that was missing a horizontal grid has now been replaced and the vertical grids on the top window are not lined up with the vertical grids on the bottom windows (See photos below.) It looks terrible and is at the front of our house. We wanted to love JP Exteriors based on their 5 star reviews, but unfortunately, we have had a 1 star experience. Update: They have said that they will fix the window so that the grids line up. If this happens, that will be good.
