Extremely disappointing delivery experience. My order explicitly stated that I would meet the driver outside and instructed them to call me upon arrival. Instead, the order was dropped off at the building's front desk without the driver calling, messaging, or otherwise notifying me. The receptionist eventually informed me that the food was there, but by that point it had been sitting unattended for over 30 minutes. Because I had no way of knowing how long it had been sitting there or under what conditions, I was no longer comfortable eating it. The delivery instructions were very clear and could have prevented the entire situation if they had simply been followed. read more

My daughter had martial arts lessons next door so this is a convenient spot to grab a pretty good breakfast sandwich on very a very fresh roll. Service was quick from placing an order to getting our food. Ample choices in juice categories and good coffee to boot. Outside seating at bistro style tables when the weather is cooperative. Prices are fair and there is plenty of free parking in a private lot. I noticed a man carrying out trays of food so I'm guessing they do a fair amount of catering as well. read more

I visited here the other day on my way into work. I was craving a breakfast sandwich. I walked in and was greeted by Dana with a kind smile. I placed an order for a croissant with eggs over easy, sausage, and Swiss cheese. It came out nice and hot. It included a drink but I didn't need one as I had already ordered my coffee. I used card and it came up to $5.44. Not too bad, being that I could have gotten a coffee, tea, hot chocolate, or orange juice with it. As I waited, we had a friendly conversation, as it was my first time there. They have outdoor seating and a large parking lot. It is a little hard to find, but now that I know it's there, I'll definitely be back! She offered me a menu to look over for my next visit. What a sad time to be a New York sports fan. It's like, watching paint dry in a prison, with no windows. Why is this relevant to "Sandwich Express" you ask? Well I'll tell you. I was leaving a sports bar after another Giants loss and drove past this deli. I figured, if I can't enjoy football, I might as well enjoy food, but it had to wait for another day, I was licking my wounds and already ate. So the following day I ventured back to the deli. The parking was decent enough. Going inside it's definitely narrow and has a standard deli look. They had a fair amount of drinks as well, but I wanted breakfast. At the counter, the staff were friendly, but no one really stood out. They took my hungry man order and got it back to me quick. I paid and I was out the door. At first glance I noticed the size. The hero was big, which is perfect! Next the bread. It seemed like it was that hard Italian bread, I'm not too big on. Last, I asked for a hungry which comes with sausage; and guess what? They forgot my sausage. No matter the hero was loaded. Once I bit it, I was right about the tough bread but wrong to judge. The sandwich was good. I really liked it. They definitely gave me enough runny eggs and cheese. I was satisfied, trust me. Would I go back? The answer, yes! Sandwich was SOOO fresh. Roll was perfect. Delivery time was longer but I consider that a gift... I always pick up... except for rare occasions.. so I am glad they delivered. Would have been 5 stars but they have a NYC brand matzo ball soup that was so Foul smelling. "Sarge's". My best friend said it was the smell of chicken broth and fine.. but me NO way could even have a second sip. It was soooo horrid smelling. Was delivered by Doordash.. Guy never knocked and Soup smelled tampered with. So soup broth is not local and did not smell fresh and or ok. An odd scent I simply could not put words to. Now that I got that out of the way, if you're looking for a loaded sandwich at a price that can't be beat, look no further. It's hard to find good, quality food and after going on the hunt for heros, we found Sandwich Express and won't look back. Quality ingredients, delicious combos and sandwiches that will keep you full without emptying your wallet. We came here for lunch one day and loved our sandwiches so much that we ordered catering for my sons birthday. I fell in love with them even more after that as they offered great pricing and exceptional service. They kept us up to date on our order, let us know when it was ready for pick up and upon pick up, everything was packaged nicely and they gave us all the paper goods we could need. Since my company has moved to plainview recently I have stopped at sandwich express a handful of times. Most of them for breakfast and once for lunch. My lunch choice was actually something I asked them to make off their menu since they only had a handful of items. I asked them to make a simple chicken cutlet sandwich with some lettuce, tomatoes and all that good stuff. I was satisfied but wasn't anything crazy that I would be coming back to. My main review is in regards to the breakfast. The first few times I would get a sausage egg and cheese on a roll and it was pretty good. Then I switched to get it on a wrap and it was significantly less food. Here's the catch tho. When I started getting the wrap it I was being charged less so it worked out. Now it's a little bit different because the last few times I would say how I could get a coffee for the same price but then it wouldn't actually come out the same price and once I got an orange juice instead and it seem to have gone bad. Overall, food is not anything special and you honestly do not know what you might get charged for it. Will not be coming back since I have given this place a decent amount of tries. read more

Order from restaurant from Uber: Order placed through Uber eats - 1:10pm expected delivery between 1:30-1:50 Since there wasn't a driver available the restaurant used their own driver. Food was late over an hour and half while food was sitting in drivers car. Attempted to dispute with Uber with who states that food temperature is not acceptable for refund request. This was escalated to the restaurant who said it needed to be disputed with Uber. I asked if I could return the un-eaten food tomorrow and exchange for something fresh and was told no. The food looks grimy, the panini bread was falling apart and everything was soggy and most likely contaminated with bacteria after sitting in a car for almost two hours. Food finally arrived at 3:15. If there was an issue with the delivery the restaurant should have cancelled the order. I would not recommend ordering from this place. read more

What a great catering order. I ordered a hero (Italian and American) along with a 1/2 tray of wings and salads. Brian the owner was extremely friendly and helped me place my super bowl order. When I arrived a little early the day to pick up my order today, the staff was extremely nice and had my order ready and brought it to my car. The wings were outstanding and so good that my guests were really enjoying them. The potato and macaroni salad were yummy along with the coleslaw. We've ordered online a few times and each time the food has been terrific. I recommend any of the italian sandwiches they offer while my wife loves the reuben. You get a free bottle of soda with an order of a certain amount which is also a nice addition. I ordered off of grubhub mostly because I didn't check the reviews on yelp that said it was dirty. I personally have never stepped foot inside so I can't tell you about the inside. My food was delivered early (about 45 minutes) and everything was correct and still warm. The food comes wrapped in foil then paper then Saran Wrap. I've been holding off on my review of Sandwich Express. Why? Because the delivery times constantly vary. The first time we ordered, we placed the order around 11, thinking two sandwiches and drinks would be to our office (which is 5 minutes away, mind you) by noon. The order did not arrive until almost 1 PM. Nearly a two hour wait made me not want to order from here ever again. Since my coworkers and I are fair people (mostly) we decided to give Sandwich Express another shot. The second time, the food arrived at 11:30, then 11:15, and most recently 11:50. I'll take any of those times over 1 PM, when we placed an order at 11 AM. The food itself is good and cheap, especially compared to the rest of the food establishments in the area. A sandwich with meat and cheese runs you about $7. Their sandwiches are great, their burgers are good but a bit greasy, and their egg and chicken salad is amazing. Overall, a great place to order from and enjoy some cheap food that tastes good. read more
