Another mislead by the reviews. There was only 1 nice woman working there which may be part of the problem, being understaffed. The place is a dive. food mediocre. Expensive for the portion size. My first impressions of the place weren't that great, it looked like a dive in need of maintenance. But when I sat to eat my opinion changed. The monster sandwich( a combo of a Philly steak and gyro) I ordered was excellent, a great balance of meat cheese vegetables and sauce. Fries rocked too! What really stood out to me was the phenomenal service and atmosphere. It's a family owned restaurant where Tony himself frequently comes out and asks guests how everything is. It's great to go somewhere where the owner is willing to slow down and talk to customers. I highly recommend it. read more

I've had their baklava and it is amazing. It does lack nuts and for me, that's fine, but it'd be nice to have a nut-free and a nut version. I found this place on a fluke. My intentions was to go to Dominoes, but this place was right next door to it. I am glad I chose this place instead. I originally wanted to order wings, but he was all out (BOOOO). Anywho I end up ordering Philly Chicken Cheesesteak and, my son had the buffalo chicken sandwich. All I can say is that neither one of us was disappointed. This will be a definite stop when I am in town again. Its unfortunate that I was not able to pick up something before leaving. My husband and I tried this place for the first time! It is such a cute and hidden gem. The fries and "king sauce" is amazing. My husband is more the meat lover, he really liked his. I got the chicken, which was very good too! Tony does not skimp on portion size for sure. It was enough for two meals for me. Tony was there when we went in and he is super nice, helpful, and you can tell he is passionate about his restaurant and puts a lot of heart and creativity into his menu. Came here to try the New Orleans sandwich and was told I cannot get it with shrimp because they were "low on shrimp" asked if that meant she just didn't have any and she said no they were just low so wouldn't give me shrimp on my sandwich.. very bad customer service. Finally decided to try Sandwich King after seeing so many good reviews. The prices had all gone up a dollar from the menu board images I found online. The place was a complete dive. No atmosphere or decor at all. The ketchup bottles on the tables were a generic brand and had expired 2 years ago!! Yuk! The person who took my order was unfriendly and the music playing was some pukey rap crap. The fries were good but the Philly Steak sandwich was small and very skimpy on the meat and cheese. The bread was decent but the sandwich was definitely not worth $8! The sauce that comes with it was bland - I think it's mayo, ketchup, and paprikka. They don't even offer complimentary water or a free refill soda machine. You have to buy canned pop or bottled water. Cheap, cheap, cheap!! Don't waste your time or money on this pit! read more

Holy sandwich! Best sandwich I have found in MN! Reminds me of NYC delis. Their sandwiches come on hero/hoagie bread, love that. I had the Philly cheesesteak and it might be the best I've ever had! I never did have one in Philly but had many on the east coast. My fiancé had the Italian beef and loved it. Their sandwiches come with fries, good fries even when they get cold! Don't let the inside of the store scare you, it's a hole in the wall. The service is very friendly, it's a deli style place. Can't wait to go back! read more

The burgers and Sandwiches can be hit or miss. Their ranch chicken was just a deep fried chicken patty with ranch and onions. However their Philly steak sandwich was the best I've ever had. Their Bacon Deluxe Burger is good also, though they could use a better bun. Their fries are the best I've ever had as well. And prices are more than fair. read more

Someone left a stack of menus on the counter at work announcing the grand opening of this place. The prices for the chicken wings are less expensive than the place where I normally get my wings so I thought I would give it a try. When I entered the establishment I had some questions about the wings, were they the whole wing or a half wing? The whole wing I was told. Good. Next, are they seasoned wings? Yes, I use my own 27 spice seasoning I was told. Good, I like seasoned wings. Always looking for new places to eat I wanted to try several things on the menu and take dinner home for the family. I ordered 10 wings w/fries, a gyro, a Philly steak sandwich, a bacon deluxe hamburger, a New Orleans seafood sandwich and some breaded mushrooms. Boy was I disappointed when I got home. The wings were the half wing, not the full wing as I was told and if there was any seasoning on them I couldn't taste any. The biggest disappointment was the BACON deluxe hamburger. The hamburger patty was about the size of a McDonald's kids hamburger and the BACON, well, it wasn't bacon. It was TURKEY BACON. It didn't look real. It looked like that rubber bacon that you buy for your kids to play with. All of the food was bland, had no flavor at all. The lettuce and tomatoes on all of the sandwiches were chopped instead of sliced so they had a tendency to fall out of the sandwich while eating. Would I recommend this place ... NO. read more

Went there last night due to the positive reviews on Yelp. We were pretty disappointed. I ordered a Philly sandwich. It was greasy and I tasted more bread than meat. My fries were also greasy as were my son's wings. This is usually due to food being fried at too low a temperature. There were only 3 napkins in the dispenser and the staff stayed in the back of the restaurant unless they were taking an order. Food was fairly slow to arrive. Overall while not wholly terrible, I feel like the quality of food was much less than I would expect for the $45 we paid to feed all 5 of us. Won't be going back. read more

Buyer beware decided to try Tony's Sandwich King this evening for the first time and sadly to say it was one of my worst experiences ever we ordered over $50 worth of food only to chew on ice cold food that would resemble Dogmeat not that I've ever tried it but if I did that is what I would compare it to we ordered the dinner for two which includes chicken and Gyro meat we simply asked for extra pita bread and they sent us with 1 old crunchy piece which is appalling seeing How the dinner for two should have came with multiple pieces of pita bread in the first place save your money and go somewhere else take my word on it. read more
