I stopped in for lunch and loved the cute decor and the free lemon water. I was surprised the sandwiches weren't more "unique" - I would have loved to see a spicy option or just some extra something. I went with the panini with turkey bacon avacado which was quite large and filling. The Caesar salad was quite large too. The prices were a bit high but you got a lot of food. Me and T got three sandwiches here to split between the two of us. Why did we get three sandwiches... 1. 'Cause I'm me 2. It's a 4.5 star business, and always with these types of businesses, I'm inclined to want to try more of the menu 3. I'm indecisive as all get up- and the sandwiches were VERY reasonably priced. So which sand-wiches did we choose? 1. Porchetta Ciabatta 2. Shrimp Salad 3. Banh Mi (This was their daily special) Porchetta Ciabatta: Now... if your idea of Porchetta is herb stuffed rolled porkbelly that is rotisseried for hours on end... this sandwich will disappoint. That's how I was introduced to Porchetta (in a foodstall in the back of the Ferry Building in San Francisco). This is more like a cold deli meat Porchetta. Just FYI. It seemed to lack some flavor tbh. This one I would probably not get again. Shrimp Salad: GENEROUS portion of shrimp salad seasoned with Old Bay that fills the sub roll it's on. Could use just a little more seasoning in my opinion, but the freshness of the shrimp and the little kick it has was quite delish. Banh Mi: This was my favorite by far of all the sandwiches we ordered. Great punch with the pickled veg, perfect amount of cilantro, meats were quite good and very thinly sliced. I would come back solely for this sandwich. And I would have to come back on a Thursday ( at least currently) cause that's the only day they serve it **Make note. This is a terrible employer. My 16 year old daughter started her first job yesterday. Yesterday, she came home all excited. This morning she went in all prepared and excited. But she was told that she was fired. They told her she voided a receipt yesterday therefore accused her of cheating them out of $10. Mind you they were supposed to train her and she is only 16. She is a straight A student. For them to accuse honest kid with out any training and warning for a mistake is a shame. I think they are prejudiced and terrible people. read more

Let me tell you- my gluten free veggie wrap was BURSTING WITH FLAVOR. I was profoundly impressed and wondered how I've never stumbled in this shop before. At $12 for a large wrap full of wholesome goodness (only $.50 extra for a wrap and its gluten free) and a side cup of soup of the day, plus a free drink with check in?! Ok sign me up. Make sure to ask for the toppings that go in sandwiches added in your wrap-Ed pickles, hot peppers, onions. They make a good (free) addition. I wasn't ecstatic with my soup but it made a good addition instead of chips or other fillers....(I was starved!!) Plenty of options for vegetarians, and carnivores alike, with chips, sodas (both bottled and fountain) cookies, potato salad, and coleslaw. Also they brought my food promptly to my table! I've ordered from here a handful of times before. Tonight I had the Porchetta (ham) sandwich. I added havarti cheese, Rosemary mayo - it's such a nice flavor addition without being too much - avocado, and bacon. Their bacon is always delicious! Honestly it's enough for two servings for me. They have a plethora of chip options to choose from as well. I ordered a side of potato salad and really enjoyed it. It's not an overwhelming flavor, but just right in my opinion. This place USED TO BE great. But then, they sold it. And while the new owners seem to be nice enough, it is not the same, and they have been cutting corners and costs at the expense of quality and safety. The bread used to be fresh, but not anymore. The cookies used to be fresh and amazing. BUT NOW, it seems like they recycle it. The sandwiches used to be done better. We even DANGEROUSLY found a bone in our short rib sandwich! - And worst, not only are they cutting all these corners with quality, but the prices went up. The old owners raised the prices a little from the pandemic, but the new owners appear to have raised them again. Phenomenal sandwiches. We had braised short rib sandwich and tandoori sandwich. The braised short rib was so moist and went so well with the ciabatta bread grilled with mayo. Quality control nosedive. We've ordered from Sandwich Republic for more than ten years. Quality control recently is dreadful. Today ordered their BLT with light rosemary mayo, and it was delivered with pickles, onions and hot peppers and regular mayo. On a BLT! The ingredients should be self explanatory. Second sandwich a turkey-bacon club ordered with just lettuce and tomato, also delivered with mayo pickles, onion and hot peppers. Sandwich Republic is the definition of success when it comes to cleanliness due to our current situation. The place was nicely organized with chips and cookies on one side of the register (but far enough away to promote social distancing), while the drinks were on the other (with instructions on how to stay safe in the restaurant). The sandwiches were delicious- just the right amount of spices, sauces, meats and vegetables. I opted for the Cuban sandwich which was pretty good, but I think I could have been happy with a sandwich that has some sort of wasabi or chipotle mayo. I would also recommend everyone getting their ciabatta bread grilled/toasted as that would help your sandwiches stay soggy-free during the ride home. They also had really fun chips which is always a pleasant experience and something far different from just the lays and ruffles brands. Don't cheat yourself! If you are considering and not sure, use this as your sign to go! I have used them to cater 2 work events and can't wait to have another reason to use them. The name didn't really strike a chord with me, but I'm glad I decided to stop by. I assumed the sandwiches would be really basic, but they are actually very well made. Shame on me for judging a book by its cover! They make their own bread, fresh, and they give you the option for "hot" sandwiches. Hot meaning they press any choice you make leaving the bread toasted and the cheese attractively melted. I'd give their sandwiches a solid 4 star. The reason I edged my rating a bit higher is because the owner running the place seems like a very dedicated and humble man. I was watching America's Test Kitchen on PBS and they featured porchetta, I immediately checked Yelp for Porchetta Sandwiches, which led me to Sandwich Republic. The Porchetta Sandwich is sliced thin like ham, if it was thick sliced, I would have given it 5 stars. The sandwich was served on ciabatta bread with choice of toppings, cheese, tomatoes, pickles, hot peppers and oil and vinegar were my choices. The ciabatta was tasty and held up, meat, cheese and toppings were very well proportioned and delicious. Price for sandwich was fair and I used Yelp check in for free fountain drink. While this restaurant is a bit hard to get into and the prices are a little high, the quality of the food more than makes up for it. Came here to try a new place for take out. I ordered the potato salad and the daily special which was the republic club and my girlfriend got the Italian. The people working up front were super friendly and they got our order made very quickly. Prices were pretty good for the size of the sandwiches. The republic club was very satisfying. It had a lot of ham and turkey with a good amount of bacon and a little spicy mayo. The bread was soft but sturdy enough to carry all the filling. My girlfriend liked the Italian but I didn't get to try it. The potato salad was a good portion and had a nice peppery taste, and nothing weird like raisins.
