Very good quality sandwiches that hit the spot 10/10 highly recommend. Easy to eat and extremely delicious!

So I first visited Sandwich Republic a year ago when I evacuated due to an approaching hurricane. Well a year later, I'm back in the area for the same reason. I was really craving their shrimp salad and it was every bit as good as I remember. Fresh tender whole shrimp is impeccably seasoned with Old Bay Seasoning and celery with just the right amount of mayonnaise. Nothing overpowers the shrimp unlike most shrimp salad. The ciabatta roll is the perfect vehicle for this sandwich. The menu has some really interesting offerings that you won't find in one of the big chain shops. I'm so going back to try the braised short rib with provolone, arugula, and tomatoes. The also have some vegan offerings. The owner remembered me from my last visit, and we had a wonderful chat. Excellent sandwiches, drinks, cookies, and friendly employees! Before heading to my cousins Confirmation we decided to drop by and grab a bite to eat. Employees (owners?) here are so sweet and attentive. We tried the Tandoori Chicken Sandwich and Braised Short Rib Sandwich, both were delicious. The bread they use is fresh, light, and held everything together well. They use quality ingredients in their sandwiches and you can taste it. The pickles and thinly sliced red onions in their sandwich are wonderful too. The tandoori chicken had a nice kick to it and it tasted quite authentic. The braised short rib was tender and similar to a pot roast dish. Try any of their speciality bottled sodas and you are in for a treat. They also have soups of the day and a speciality sandwich of the day. In addition to sandwiches, there are also salads on the menu. Their baked goods are awesome as well. So fresh and not overly sweet. We loved the decor of this place, it reminded us a bit of a shop that would be in Nashville. I appreciate that everything is neat, clean, and organized in here. This place is a great lunch spot for those who live or are around the Springfield area. The shop is located in Springfield Plaza next to Noodles & Company and Toki Teriyaki. It reminds me of an exotic Potbelly, with different styles of sandwiches such as Tandoori Chicken, braised short rib, and etc., in addition to the classic sandwiches like BLT. They also have a good selection of vegetarian sandwiches as well as salads. Like Potbelly, you choose which toppings you would like. I ordered the #7, shrimp salad on ciabatta bread, which tasted delicious. The Old Bay seasoning added a nice kick to the sandwich! Any combo comes with drinks and chips. Wow! I just started working in the area and checked out Yelp to see what's around and came upon this place. My sandwich was awesome! I looked at a couple of the other reviews and almost went with the shrimp salad but landed on the Italian. The roll is just as described by others and the overall sandwich was great; only ate half as my work pants barely fit thanks to COVID-19 (and my propensity for eating junk food in the evening). Could have easily eaten the entire sandwich, chips, and soda all at once! For $10 the value is good, I'll definitely eat there again and give another sandwich a go. Great little gem of a sandwich shop. Been meaning to try this place for centuries and finally was in the neck of the woods. Was deciding between the porchetta because I was just recently in Italy, and the chicken salad (my usual fave) but chose the chicken salad. The chicken salad filling was wonderful but I got the sandwich cold - my regret. I think the bread would have been super lovely toasted (which the kind owner asked if I wanted), but I said no. Had the ciabatta bread been toasted, it would have been crusty with some great chew, reminding me of a thin ciabatta, like the kind you would get in Rome. :) But untoasted, I feel like the bread is not properly presented how it ought be, to make it a real standout, cuz I think the bread is actually a great quality bread. Next time I'll ask for it toasted for sure! They have really great sandwich options, some unique fillings, and some your tried and trues - prices are reasonable. The chicken salad filling was perfectly flavorful and seasoned just right, the sandwich was wonderfully packed, not smushed to a pancake like some other places. I'd try to eat the sandwich right away, I ate half in the car on the way home and by the time I got back the other half of the bread was soggy because I had asked for vinegar and oil. The cookies by the cashier made me do a double take, but we have a nut allergy, and I was in a bit of a rush, so I didn't have time to ask which had nuts. Next time I'll take home a cookie for sure. There must have been an ownership change, over the past several months it changed for the worse. Gone is the comfortable corner sandwich shop, the selection of bottled sodas and non-mainstream fountain drinks. Gone are the plants and children's drawings lauding the place. This is a hidden gem but it now my fav sandwich spot (move over Potbelly)! I would say my only neg is the parking situation, but I will not blame that on the establishment. It is difficult to find the front door initially but once you do just get ready for greatness. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the cashier. The place was empty, which scared me at first. Then I realized I may have been the only person eating lunch at 3 (blah!). After perusing the menu, I asked the gentleman how he felt about the shrimp salad and he quickly responded with "It's good! Really good!" So I ordered that with all the fixings, two bags of chips (I usually run out half way through the sammy!) and a fountain drinks. Typical drink options and plenty of chips to choose. The sandwich was phenomenal. The amount of shrimp was surprising and they were the plump and tasty ones (hahhhh!). The flavor was sooo good and there was not too much Old Bay seasoning. It is possible someone's grandmother made this shrimp salad (I'll be sure to check for her hairnet next time!). I ate it at my office but ended up having enough for two days. This place is our forever go-to sandwich spot now. My fiancé and I recently moved to the area and weren't in the mood to cook after unpacking yesterday, so he looked for a deli around us. The people that worked there were super nice and extremely helpful when we asked about their menu, they could tell we've never been there before and pointed us toward which sandwiches they thought we'd like. Wow, the sandwiches were amazing! I got the roast beef, and he got both the Cuban and the short rib. Our biggest regret was that we didn't get 2 additional short ribs for the both of us. I loved the roast beef, it was moist, flavorful, and with the wasabi sauce they had, it was a great punch that cleared up my sinuses from all the dust we kicked up. Then, I took a bite of my fiancé's Cuban and that was great too! Finally, I took a bite of the short rib and my fiancé basically had to yank the sandwich out of my hands because I didn't want to give it up. If you haven't tried their short rib sandwich, you are missing out! There were big chunks of incredibly tender short rib, amazing flavors, and a bread that enhances the sandwich perfectly. It's a day later, and the sandwiches have been on our minds non-stop. This corner deli features a variety of deli sandwiches for $7-$8. The people who run it seem very nice. This is definitely a step up from a grocery store deli, and a step down from an Italian Store. The price is slightly higher than I'd expect, and adding chips and a drink will take you over the $10 mark. I got there just after they opened so I got my sandwich in 2 minutes, however a line started to form as I left at 11:30am and I feel that may be an issue at lunch. Each day of the week they have a specialty sandwich only available on that day. 3 of them are cuban style. The sandwich I got was on ciabatta bread. They had a grilled cheese on the menu. A few different styles of bread/sandwiches which is nice. I had the wassabi mayo roast beef easy on the mayo. It was very good and the ciabatta bread is nice, not sure I'm into the thick slices of cold cheese placed on top, it would be cool to get it toasted, not sure that is an option. They have a great selection of bottled sodas like Root Beer & Cream soda which is nice, especially since the soda fountain is Pepsi. People in line were changing their orders from fountain soda to a can of Coke or bottle of ginger ale when hearing it was Pepsi. At least it isn't Boyland or whatever garbage soda that is starting to show up at places these days. They have visibility from Old Keene Mill road but once you see it it's already too late you've passed it. The location is not ideal for them (or maybe it is because you can see it from the busy road), but word of mouth seems to be getting people in the door. I've worked in Springfield for years and ate lunch everywhere and never heard of this place. I can't believe there are reviews from 2014. I give it 4 stars for now because I liked everything about my visit, and hopefully after a few more visits and trying some different menu options it doesn't drop down. Overall it is a very clean deli with a good selection of sandwiches that are solid. Grab a sandwich, maybe the special of the day and a bottle of root beer and you'll have a good lunch for around $10. read more

Very high quality sandwiches. I've tried many a sandwich shop and while many are similar, sandwich republic offers a nice variety of unique sandwiches you can get anywhere else. I love the Tandoori Chicken (spicy) and the Cuban. Both are loaded with meat and pack a great flavor. Would definitely recommend when in Springfield. read more

This is an outstanding sandwich shop. All the ingredients that go into the sandwiches are very fresh and tasty, service is friendly and excellent, and the restaurant is very clean. My girlfriend and I go here once a week and have always been very happy with everything. Our favorite sandwich is the tuna salad, but we've enjoyed the turkey sandwich as well. The tuna salad always tastes fresh, and we like to add hot pepper relish on the it, to spice it up. We also feel that the ciabatta bread used for the sandwiches is very fresh and delicious. It really makes the sandwiches much better than most. It seems like they get fresh ciabatta bread every day, it's always amazing. Not far from Sandwich Republic are several other sub shops (Firehouse and Potbelly), but they pale in comparison to the Sandwich Republic. It's sad to see so many people patronizing those places, when right nearby is a much better option, with fresher, higher quality ingredients and great food. Part of the reason for this is that Sandwich Republic is kind of stuck in an obscure corner of the shopping center, away from most of the other stores, and not as easy to find. But it's well worth the effort to search out. Please patronize these smaller businesses, they are much better than the big chain sub shops and are a great asset to the community! I'm not a big sandwich guy but I love this place and the creativity they display putting sandwiches together. My first time here, I came for the White chocolate lemon cookie and almost died when I ate it! It's sssssoooooo good!! The next time I walked in, ordered my cookies and the VERY nice owner asked if I ate Bulgogi and I answered like any normal human and said HHHEEELLLL YYYEEAAA! When I tell you that sandwich was amazing, it is an understatement! I ate it so fast I didn't take a picture and they have not had the sandwich since then and that was two months ago. Since then, I've tried the BBQ sandwich and Spicy Korean Chicken which were top notch and I tried the tandoori chicken. The tandoori chicken wasn't my cup of tea but it's the only one I didn't swallow (pause) before I could get my phone out. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make the bulgogi sandwich a menu item! Had a doctor's appointment nearby and had to fast all morning before it, so I was hungry and craving a hearty sandwich by 10am (when I was heading home and this place was just opening). Ordered a tuna sandwich for me and a turkey and cheese for my husband. Both were filling, delicious, and fresh and the staff were super friendly when I picked them up (without any questions as to why I was eating a tuna sandwich at 10am).
