Food is ok, coffee terrible, but kids love the Lego area. Breakfast is no longer always free with the hotel. It is worth going if it's free. It definitely is not for like $22 for adults and $17 for kids (which I think is the price I saw). It's the exact same breakfast you get at the Legoland hotel/pirate hotel. It's AYCE eggs, biscuits, sausage and bacon (or veggie sausage if you request it), French toast sticks and breakfast potatoes. Fruit, cereal and yogurt is available upon request. For me, the biscuits are delicious (we should always request extra since the kids like it.) I also like the vegan sausage. The kids like the bacon and sausage and sometimes the French toast sticks. Nobody likes the eggs. My husband loves the biscuit and gravy (the gravy has pork) and liked the potatoes. The coffee is atrocious, be warned. You might as well make it in the room and bring it. There is a Lego place for the kids at the back of the restaurant. The kids love the Lego area and it buys us some peace and quiet. Our server was fantastic. Service can be hit or miss, but I really liked ours this morning. We got there at 9 am and it was about a 25 minute wait. We came for breakfast while staying in Legoland and we really loved the family style food service! The food was very good and fresh (our favorite was the breakfast potatoes and the biscuits), it was quick, our server was very nice and helpful! We really enjoy the fresh and hot coffee in the morning! One of my favorite parts is that is all decorated with lego things and has a play area for the little ones so they get to eat and enjoy as well... win-win for all the family! Tip: they serve you for the whole table but if you want more they will keep it coming also they have extra sides like yogurt and oatmeal that you can ask as well! read more

I cannot understand why people would complain about a free all-you -can-eat breakfast included with your stay that actually tastes good. Seems to be a lot of that on here. My friend and I found the customer service to be outstanding. While I am not a vegan, my friend is. The extremely friendly chef came out to speak with her about her dietary restrictions and to assure her that all foods brought to her would be fully vegan. The chef even came out halfway through the meal to ensure my friend was happy with her breakfast. I wish I had taken some photos of the food because the portions were huge and very tasty. If we needed extras of anything, the smiling servers brought them out promptly. We were very pleased with everything and look forward to our next stay here. read more

This restaurant is all about the Location & Convenience. Especially if you are traveling with little ones. You don't have to worry about getting your kids in the car and driving. It is a simple walk from your Cottage to the Restaurant. Located inside the Legoland beach retreat resort. If you are staying at the Beach Retreat Resort you are walking distance from your Cottage. The menu has a wide range of options for Lunch and Dinner. The food and service was OK however the convenience made it worth our experience. Breakfast which is included in your stay is pretty good and has a wide range of options. Eggs, bacon, meat sausage, scrambled eggs, french toast sticks, potato vegetables, "Lego brick" waffles, cheeses, various cereals, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, a fruit bar that included watermelon, pineapple, oranges. The play area is wonderful and it just made it easier to entertain our 1 & 2 year old. They also also events in the restaurant like story time and a dance party. Breakfast here was included every morning during our stay. Excellent options for any kind of diet. Vegetarian sausages, bacon, meat sausage, scrambled eggs, french toast sticks, potato and veggie medley, "Lego brick" waffles, cheese cubes, various cereals, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, a fruit bar that included watermelon, pineapple, oranges, bananas, apples, and mandarins, donuts, and all types of juices, coffee, and soda. Something for everyone! If you don't get filled up, you either came too close to the end time or there is something seriously wrong! Food was refilled in a timely manner. Bit if advice, though. Go early! One of our three mornings they weren't refilling foods close to the 10:00 cut off. We also tried Sandy's for dinner on our last evening. Surprisingly it was pretty tasty. After being at Legoland all day we were famished. The nacho appetizer was lacking, but it did its job. My children enjoyed their kids' meals and my husband stated his shrimp was fresh and tasty. My black bean burger was also flavorful and cooked to the right temperature. Fries are fries. We topped off our dinner with the Captain's desert. It was very rich with an Oreo cookie ice cream sandwich on top of a brownie. Craft beers and a full bar is available at your own taste. Prices weren't that outrageous, so it was a pretty good bargain. Our server Nicole had quite a few tables, but she was still attentive. The best thing about this hotel was our waitress. Ask to be seated in Kenyas section and you won't be disappointed. She always had a smile on her face and she thought of everything that I couldn't remember. She anticipated our every need. Her only downfall is she doesn't give a bill for a tip. Please tip this woman. The food was great! It's free and what's not to like. You get eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes or French toast depending on the day. They have fruits, yogurt and cereal. I'm happy that I'm not cooking and we're on vacation. Dinner is an entire different story. The hostess is also the waitress. It's a long weekend and the hotel is packed with people. Somehow they don't have enough staff. The one thing I would tell our server is that kids food should always come out first. You messed up our order and now my 2 year old doesn't have anything to eat. We had four meals at Sandy's during our recent trip to Legoland. On the first night, we had the prepaid meal deal available with the online booking. This was an excellent deal by theme park meal standards. You get two appetizers, two adult meals, and up to three kids meals with beverages. I ordered the surf and turf. The steak was perfectly tasty. The shrimp, while probably not what someone who really likes fresh shrimp would be looking for, were also yummy and crunchy. Sides of mashed potatoes and broccoli competed the plate. My husband had a pulled pork sandwich which he said was surprisingly tasty. The kids meals were standard fare, but there were no complaints. The menu says "chicken nuggets," but that meal is actually more substantial chicken tenders. The nacho appetizer was huge and I thought the flavor was good. Cheese sticks were good. On the second night, we had no deal, but they offered free kids meals with each adult entree. Most entrees are priced around $15. Some are cheaper. We ordered the fruit salad with grilled chicken and a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was nothing special, but the cheese was tasty and the crust was soft. The salad, however, was quite lovely in presentation and very delicious. It had grapes, pineapple, oranges, candied walnuts, and blue cheese on mixed greens. The vinaigrette dressing complimented well. If you go to dinner around 7 pm, there are games for the kids and a "dance party" at 8 pm. The Lego hosts were fun and the kids had a good time. Also, there is a nice sand cattle play area where kids can build while you wait or after dinner while the adults finish their food. All the staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also standard, mass produced buffet breakfast, but we enjoyed our food. Breakfast is included with your stay. They had biscuits and gravy, pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc. both days. Plenty of cereal choices, fruit, yogurt, etc. It isn't as nice as the breakfast at the Legoland Hotel, but it was perfectly serviceable. I thought the pancakes had a good flavor both days. There was a tri-color potato mix that was particularly delicious. Breakfast was slammed on Friday morning around 9 am, but the line for a table moved quickly. We did not wait for breakfast on Saturday morning or dinner either night. Drinks are all self serve, which is nice as you don't have to wait, but the glasses are small and the Coke Freestyle machine makes for long lines at times. This is a large, busy place. There are people and kids everywhere. But it is a lot of fun for the kids. In addition to the other activities, characters roam for pictures and there's a small store. You can mail postcards from a Lego mailbox. It is adjacent to the pool and play area. We got the Smores kit and that was fun Friday night. There are attendants at the fire pit to supervise. This may not be the best meal of your life, but it's perfectly good food, nice people, convenient for your stay, and the kids love it. read more

If you can, avoid the restaurant at all cost. Not knowing better we went for dinner our first evening with the package offered online with booking. I think there were 5 or 6 tables at most sitting down. ALL of the servers were acting like they were overwhelmed and in the weeds. Snails move faster. This goes for about everything at the park. Be prepared to WAIT. Back to dinner... My husband got the surf and turf and I got the curry. Just don't. There are so good Cuban sandwich places in town (I think we went to Anf, use yelp, looks shady but good). Kids got Mac and cheese, can't really mess that up. Is it worth $10 for some kraft? You decide. We thought maybe they were just having a bad evening/we were tired from traveling and tried again for comp breakfast (b/c it's included right). If you're going to go, go early!!! It's gets "busy". By busy I mean the employees can't keep their shit together and you'll wait. Mind you, it's a buffet. They aren't even really needed. It's a shit show and the food is meh. Little kids are easy feed and they are covered for sure. If you're an adult go for the wrap, and the coffee is hot and strong. It's not Disney, so don't expect the service or quality of food. The lego organization took a giant step backwards here. They could have done so much better and there is massive room for improvement here. I am not going to offer my complaints but also sensible soloutions. My family and i stayed here for 2 nights, the breakfast buffet is really bad here the eggs were extremely dry and tasteless. The potatos were also dry and no flavor at all. Everything seemed like tv dinner level of quality. The juice bar was decent as was the soda beverages provided. The place was indeed clean and organized but the food lacked everything. The pastries were frozen and hard. The only things you could truly consume without having a sad look on your face were the cereals (only because the chef had nothing to do with it). Suggessted improvements: completely throwaway the current menu. Get rid of the current chef and or assign to alternative duty. Hire a professional chef and a sue chef. Additioanly get rid of about 3 servers. They mostly just stood there doing nothing during the busiest time of the morning buffet. Honor your commitment to quality food. Have a person making fresh omletes on the spot. It will probably be cheaper than the powder dry eggs served. Offer simple locally made doughnuts they are cheap and most important fresh. Have a small waffle maker perhaps with the lego logo. Offer more than just one type of meat for the protein a significant number of your customers can not eat pork due to health reasons we are in florida. Turkey or beef sausege is not very expensive. Breakfast buffet is pretty good and servers are prompt and friendly in our experience. The three stars stems from the dinner menu. Having visited the beach retreat a few times now, we only eat at Sandy's because it's convenient. The food at the Legoland hotel restaurant is a thousand times better for dinner and worth the shuttle or drive across the street. I never write reviews, but I have to for this place. We just stayed at the beach retreat this past weekend and my 5 year old daughter and I ate pizza from Sandy's Castle restaurant. My husband and 2 year old daughter did not. A day later, my daughter that ate the pizza started throwing up and having diarrhea. Then I started having diarrhea. We are currently on day 3 of this. I wasn't sure if it was a stomach bug we caught on our trip so I took my daughter to the doctor yesterday. The doctor said it sounds like food poisoning and then it all made sense. We're the only two that ate the pizza and there only two that are sick. I knew going in the food there was probably not very good, but apparently they don't care about what they're serving at all because they know customers aren't coming back. Do yourself a favor and go to some other crappy chain right outside the resort. At least they have standards. read more

Food just terrible. For a place that markets to kids, it is a crime to offer such a low quality processed food with no healthy choices. The breakfast buffet that is included with the room is so bad, I would not feed my dog there. Even the "healthy" option of fruit is canned!
