Researched in my 7000 mile 24 city food tour. Knew I had to hit a Cubano in Miami but the struggle of who to choose was real. Friends and conflicting sites said differently. Stuck with my gut and tried this place. It was cool to order the traditional Cuban but a variant came with a croqueta already on it as folks were saying I had to try that too down here. The sandwich was fresh and quality. The bread after pressed had the outer casing of a pizza crust to where it might have taken just a pinch away from the soft inner dough portion of the bread that I prefer. This was such a tasty and fun meal before heading back home. We found Sanguich on Yelp while looking for some of the best Cuban sandwiches in town. We eagerly arrived right when they opened and were warmly greeted by the staff. Our order included a Cubano, lechon sammie with pickled onions and mojo, cortadito and a smoothie. The star of the show was the lechon sandwich- it was the perfect balance of juicy pork with the acidity of the pickled onions and mojo. The bread was top notch too- perfect crisp on the outside and soft on the inside when you bite into it. On top of the flavors, the space is stunning. Think modern Cuban sandwich shop with fun touches like flamingo wallpaper in the bathroom, vibrant floor tiling and beautiful custom saucers and cups for the coffee. Overall, an awesome experience. My husband and I ordered the Cubano and the Pan con Lechon to share. Both were generously packed with meats, and pressed nicely for effortless eating and cleanup. The Pan con Lechon was not as crispy as I expected. It kind of felt like eating a tuna melt, but without the fishiness. It was a bit on the sweet side but I didn't mind. Though after taking a bite of the Cubano, I wished we got two Cubanos instead. The ratio of the meat to cheese was just nice. The pickles were made in-house and not too briny. We were told we had to go to Sanguich for some cubanos during our time in Miami. Let's start with the coffee. Our cortadito and cafecitos were PERFECT! Yes they were strong, yes they were sweet, just as they should be! And the cups were super cute. We both got cubanos, and the meat, bread and pickles were so yummy. Only complaint is there could have been more mustard, but at that point I'm just being picky. The plantain fries were also a must! The green sauce was our favorite although I didn't catch what all was in it. I would give this place 5 stars if there hadn't been such a wait. We got there at 2 thinking it'd be past the lunch rush but didn't get served until about 2:45 ish. The first 30 minutes of that was a genuine wait and I can't fault them for being busy, but the last 15 minutes were because the groups in front of us didn't realize there were tables open. There was someone facilitating seating when we first got there, but he stopped which caused massive confusion and delay. Sanguich was one of the highlights of my Miami trip! Cubanos are a must whenever you visit Miami, so I was really excited to try this place out. I really enjoyed the Cubano! The ratio to meat, cheese, pickles, and mustard was perfect- nothing overpowered the other ingredients. I also thought it was nicely pressed and the bread had a good crisp. We also tried the Pan Con Lechon which was also good and flavorful. If you're not a fan of pickled elements (i.e. mustard, pickles, etc.) and want a more savory sandwich, Pan Con Lechon is a good choice! My boyfriend's biggest gripe with Sanguich is how thin their bread is.I didn't mind so much, but he felt like the bread should be a little thicker (he thought it was too panini-like). Lastly, I loved how easy to eat their sandwiches are! One of my biggest pet peeves is when sandwiches are overstuffed and everything squeezes out whenever you try to eat it. There's a reason this place is featured on the top cuban sandwich lists and on the food insider - their sandwiches are to die for!! The cuban bread was grilled with lard so it was greasy and a bit messy to touch, but the sandwich came out piping hot filled with delicious meats, ooey gooey cheese, tart pickles, and a sweet mustard (not hot). I tried both the cubano and the sandwich with the croquette. I definitely prefer the cubano, I think you can taste the flavor of the meat and pickles better than with the croquettes. The chicharrones had a different seasoning than usual but I liked it. The bottom of the basket was kind of inedible though - the chicharrones were rock hard and impossible to bite. Easy free no hassle parking lot right in front of the restaurant. Just a heads up - when you arrive, if you see a line outside the door, don't fret and just get in line. The line moves fast and is simply the line to order at the cashier. You can enter the restaurant to order once the cashier tells you through the open window to come in. Because of COVID and limited space in the restaurant, they only allow one party in the restaurant to order at the cashier at a time. The restaurant is very narrow, so mostly 2-seater tables, but if you have a group of 4+, there is a private picnic table in the door out back in a covered patio. Surrounded by plants, it's such a cute private space that I didn't know existed. Only negative are the houseflies outside that you have to swat away. There's a lot of flavor packed into it, which made every bite of the sandwich taste amazing. Let me just start by saying the flavor of the Cubano was 10/10 - juicy meats, melty cheese and the perfect Cuban bread set this sandwich over the limit. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes outside for a seat in the restaurant, we were treated rudely by the person seating people--she questioned us several times as to whether it was really our turn to be seated and not someone else's (even though that person confirmed that we'd been ahead of him!), then told us there was only one seat available (so, basically, too bad for you--we can't seat you), so we let the person behind us, who was dining alone, take that one seat. I was so appalled by the woman's rudeness that I just wanted to leave, but the person I was with really wanted to try the food there. A few minutes later, several counter seats opened up, and we sat at two of them. I ordered a chocolate milkshake (hardly anything on the menu for vegetarians, but I knew that going in and was okay with it); the photo on the menu showed a milkshake with whipped cream on top, but mine came without it. The shake itself was mediocre, so I decided to ask about the missing whipped cream. Two people preparing food behind the counter nicely told me that the shake didn't include whipped cream (despite the photo) but offered to put some on anyway, which I appreciated (though it's false advertising to show a menu item that looks substantially different than what you actually get). The whipped cream helped, but the shake was still nothing special. The person accompanying me ordered the Cubano and loved it; that's why I've given this place 2 stars instead of 1.
