By far the best Thai food in the area. Freshest of the fresh ingredients with proteins all cooked to perfection. The Pad Se Ew and crab rangoon were amazing and perfectly prepared but the Pad Kra Pao may have been the best we've ever had. It stole the show. The mother and son team running the joint were gracious and super friendly hosts. They're set up for live music in the future and overall made it clear how passionate they are about this restaurant. And we're all genuinely lucky to have them in the area. Support this restaurant. You won't regret it. read more

Notably friendly service from a family-run restaurant in a Plaistow shopping mall. This is excellent, authentic Lao and Thai cuisine served in pleasantly decorated surroundings. The (wonderfully spicy) Lao sausage is a rarity that is especially delicious but the more familiar Lao and Thai dishes are all very good. Lots of positive reviews but not from me. The whole experience was quite bizarre. The owner couldn't wait to greet us at the door, which was very nice. The ordering process was very confusing but we got through it. My friend and I ordered our meals. Her meal came out, but mine was nowhere in sight. Then I realized it was delivered to a customer who was sitting behind me who came in after us. I went to the owner and told her that someone else got my food so I sat there and watched my friend eat my her food and had to wait for mine. Here's the most important part of my review......the food was tasteless. There was barely any chicken in the pad Thai. So I'm wondering if all of their friends and relatives wrote those reviews because I was not impressed. Through multiple visits we have tried almost everything on the menu and nothing has disappointed. Chef N. shows his love and passion for food not only through his food, but also by sharing cooking tips and stories while working the floor. We figure we give sanouk restaurant a try on a lazy evening, the food for us we would say it is very very close to spot on with authentic dishes from Thailand - I had the kao piak, wife had the drunken noodles and son had chicken wings with sticky rice. When we opened the door we to the restaurant the authentic aromas of true Thai/laos kitchen. After chatting with Nouk the owner he had expressed some of his additional ideas for the future was in the works as a newer small business we understand it a tough business. I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service was attentive and welcoming. The food was even better! I had the pad Thai duck - it's was so delicious! The duck was moist and perfectly cooked. Also there was a duck leg included with my meal - an added yummy bonus! The serving size was very generous. Great food. Pineapple as amazing with their concoction of herbs and spices. Crab ragoon was great. Vegetable paid was flavorful, and not oily. The price was affordable. Service was wonderful. We ordered takeout. The food is delicious, but they definitely need help with front of the house. The people working were all very sweet, but they seemed completely overwhelmed. The website order online option is a mess, as there is no place to enter your protein options. The menu is small , which is okay when you consider they are focused on what they do best. Best pad Thai in the area hands down. I asked for spicy and it was actually spicy!! At other places I have to say extra extra extra extra extra spicy please and there isn't even a tiny bit of heat. My boyfriend loved his sweet and sour chicken and the fried dumplings. Chicken wings were super crispy and juicy. They were so nice and sweet, a little backed up but I would have waited twice as long to get this food again. Can't wait to go back. read more

I saw that a new tai place opened up and went in to check it out. Food was very good They are from laos and also have Pho on the menu along with some northern tai food and your street noodle food. I had the pho and was pleasantly surprised. I had chicken and they also put the tai meatballs in as well. The broth was excellent not too sweet or salty. I of course love spice so I did add quite a few fresh chilis The owner was very friendly and I felt very comfortable there. I would highly recommend you try them out. The only negative is their location. You can only get to it one way because the way it's located on Rte.125. I will be back to try a noodle dish in the future. read more

This place is so great! I went with my girlfriend and we had a great time. The staff are super friendly and polite and made sure our food was exactly how we wanted. I got a chicken pad thai, she got red curry, and we split an order of crab rangoon. All the food was 10/10. The place itself is quiet and clean, and we enjoyed seeing the art and drawings of cars around us. Again, the staff was so so so friendly and polite, we talked about our respective countries from where we come from, and even talked about soccer for a while and had a great time. eating here made me so happy some of the most AMAZING service I've ever had. The owners are so so kind and such sweet people. We had such great conversations with them and it was clear that everyone in the restaurant was just having a great time. It felt so good to be around other people who clearly love the food they're eating. My cousin is also allergic to peanuts and they made sure that her food was 100% peanut free. The food feels cooked with love. I loved the papaya salad, Lao sausage and the drunken noodles. This place needs to be PACKED - they deserve so many more customers.
