Came in today which is Friday for dinner since our other pho stop ran out of broth. Crazy but anyhoo this place was packed but the wait wasn't long. The service was good even though there was only one guy serving and cleaning tables but he did his best and we waited about 10-15 min. The steak pho was rich and flavorful. Lots of steak which I liked. It hit the stop in this cold ass weather. I'll definitely back to try other things. read more

Our first time at Spring and only wish it were closer! We had two dishes: Bun Bo Hue Hue (Spicy noodle soup) and the Grilled Chicken Vermicelli Bowl. Both were cooked perfectly. Service was quick and professional in a bright dining room in which the green plants added a nice touch. read more

The flavor of the food is not terrible the Pho is a little sweet but overall edible. The service is mid the one waiter doesn't fully understand Vietnamese food and the owner forgot several orders. The ambiance is nice for sure an upgrade from when the restaurant first opened. The portion size is a little small and not very filling. I gave it a 3 star definitely an improvement over the original restaurant but still a lot to improve upon. The waiter seems nice but a little clueless. read more

There's a lot of hype for this place, but that hype is completely unfounded. This place is extraordinarily mediocre. For starters, the crab rangoons were burnt. The 'special' pad thai, was anything but special. It was so oily, I had second thoughts throughout the meal. The worst thing about this restaurant, however, was the server. I was astounded that this man's pants were hanging off of his rear and showing his boxers, and as the meal progressed, they fell lower and lower. By the time the check came, they were nearly dragging on the floor. Not sure a better metaphor exists for the meal and experience. read more

I found this place in passing and wanted to try a new Pho spot. I had the Korean Ribs that were good. The portion was a lot! I usually feel skimped on the meat portion. The ambiance was so on point! They play great calming and soothing tracks. I always feel like cover musicians do better than original most of the time. This is a great spot for a couples date which I will do with my wife soon. Update: We have been trying the pho soups now and they are quite good. However they are skimmy with the noodles and meat. You have to order extra noodle and meat- and when I do, there is plenty of noodle but still very little meat. Whats up with that? Also the appitizers are very little and not a good value. Service is friendly. read more

Went tonight for the first time. I haven't had good pho since I moved here from Milwaukee. My wife and I had fried egg rolls which were quite good, the dipping sauce was outstanding! Then each had pho and it was pretty good. I found the broth only okay, it was not as flavorful as I've had in the places I went to in Milwaukee. That said, it was good, I'd go back again. The turn off and reason for 3 stars was the service. The restaurant seating was nice and we were seated immediately but then waited and waited for someone to come take our order. There weren't many people in the dining room for a Saturday at 6:45p. It appears they do a lot of take out / UberEats business. That said I think we should have had better, faster service. Once we ordered the food came out in a reasonable time, the egg rolls first and then the pho. As I said the egg rolls were good, the pho ok. read more

Great food and great service run by very kind people. Their smoothies are incredibly flavorful. Their pho manages to be hearty and spirited while achieving the right balance of herbaceous and zesty. Their shaking beef is my personal favorite and definitely worth trying, it's what i get every time now. The atmosphere's nice, and manages to be both slightly chic while also having a personal feel to it. A real gem of a place, I can't recommend Spring enough. As a bonus, props to the owner who can and will memorize anything and everything you order, and deliver all of it without missing a thing. read more

Decent pho if you're craving it like I was, but didn't feel like driving to Lowell for better quality. My complaint is the price of pho has gotten ridiculous for the price it actually takes to make a single bowl; the broth was great and gave the standard condiments, but there was not as much noodles for the bowl size they gave, shouldve been more porportionate. The spring rolls were actually really good, but normally a fresh roll has pork and shrimp not just shrimp. Avocado smoothie was delicious, no complaints there. Beautiful restaurant interior and clean, service was attentive, no complaints. And just an fyi from a fellow Vietnamese American, I would never order pad thai from a Vietnamese restaurant lol it is not our cultural specialty. The version you get will be very different from a Thai restaurant.. that said, if you go to a Vietnamese restaurant get the Vietnamese food lol Pho, fresh spring rolls, and avocado smoothies is my go to for judging a standard Vietnamese restaurant at baseline. I'll be going back to try the other stuff at some point. read more

If you like buffets, this is the place to be. The menu is amazingly priced and you can eat all the veggies and noodles you want. Even during the pandemic, they've taken precautions such as wearing gloves when you grab the veggies. I felt safe eating here even though there were lots of people. read more

Tried this place for the first time after having been a regular of Mommy's Pho. My husband tried calling in the order and got a strange "the caller is not available" message. So I looked them up and realized that Mommy's Pho was no longer in business. In the meantime they called my husband back and even used his name - so he had no idea at first about the new ownership and placed an order. Weird but okay. First thing I noticed in our vermicelli special bowls was that the rolls were bland - nowhere near as tasty. Then I realized that there were huge, uncut pieces of meat - as opposed to the normal bite-sized slices of beef. So I ended up cutting my beef up on a cutting board. It was also not as tasty as it used to be. The final disappointment came with the summer rolls. They were a tad dry and not as good but I attempted to eat them anyway....until I got to the end and tasted something crunchy. At first I thought it was a crunchier mint leave but I could not chew through it. Spit it out and realized it was a large piece of the outer shrimp skin. I have eaten a lot of summer rolls and that has never happened before.... So, I am not planning on going back. Giving it a 2 only because (most of the food) was alright - though rally nothing special. read more

**updated 4/1 - Returned today to try again. Really was missing their great food. All good. Owner remembered us. Apologized for our first visit saying it was hectic due to first days of opening. Very nice guy. We will be back to regulars and changed rating to 5 stars** Bummer this is under new ownership. Mommy's Pho had great service. This new place Spring Restaurant. I think that is the name. TERRIBLE service. Zero personality. Owner barely care you were there. You would have thought if new owner you would go out of your way to greet customers. We told one of the owners we were regulars to Mommy's and it didn't even cause a reaction. read more

All the food I ordered had absolutely no flavor. I can't even describe what it should taste like because I have no clue. We got takeout and got NO BROTH for the vermicelli bowl. House rice was sub par at best. Spring Rolls were terrible. Again, no flavor. I will NOT be going back any time soon! read more

There was only one person working the front with a ton of customers. He held it down pretty well as a one man army but service wasn't great. The pho was nothing special, large pieces of meat, the noodles were stuck together, broth wasn't as hot as I would like. The summer rolls were pretty good though. read more

Not really the type to leave a 1 star review, but this Pad Thai is well deserving of it! Only place this dish belongs is in the damn trash. Maybe it's just me, maybe Southern NH folk that think black pepper is spicy must love this place IDFK! I was born and raised in Lowell, MA the mecca of Southeast Asian cuisine. I feel like I know my peoples cuisine pretty damn well. This ain't it, this ain't it by a long damn shot! To the business owner, give the people authentic cuisine! Stop trying to cater to what you believe will suit us "Americans". We want Thai food! If I knew it was going to taste like this I would have stayed home and sucked on a cucumber! read more

Authentic Vietnamese cooking!! Oh my gosh to get pho this good I used to drive all the way to Lowell from Haverhill. This restaurant painstakingly prepares 3 different broths, I tried all 3 - beef, chicken, and vegetable. The house vermicelli is amazing, and the pad Thai is to die for!! The bartender/host/waiter works his keister off, so be patient - it's an expensive world and this man is doing his best under the current circumstances. But any delay in service is made up for with really good drinks, generous portions, reasonable prices, and AMAZING FOOD!! read more

Got to give a big shout out for this place. Had dinner there the other night and it was wonderful. The food was so good, you could taste the freshness. We had the seafood spring rolls and they were outstanding. Served with this absolutely delicious garlic sauce. The host, cook, barkeep, waiter & pot washer were so busy we didn't get his name. This was clearly a one man show. He worked his behind off serving over 30 customers in his shop. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys noodle bowls. Everytime! Seriously everytime I ordered something from here using grubhub they always missing something. Or not reading the instructions that I wrote. One time I asked for egg noodle, nope! Next time asked to not put the meat in the broth. It's in the broth. This time I ordered extra meat, and and meat on the side, nope no extra meat no meat on the side. We had an okay experience the other night. Tried the pho and noodle stew. Quality was good for both but everything was lacking flavor, depth, and even salt (which is extremely rare for pho). Even the shake we got afterwards was watery without much ingredient. Overall a safe destination for people trying pho for their first time, or looking for something "healthier". The kind of place you would bring Caucasian friends to. read more

Another small downside was the bathroom situation--there seemed to be only one or two stalls for men and women, so there was a bit of a wait Overall, it was a wonderful birthday spot!

Never have I had a more awful BBQ experience. Went here with my family on a Wednesday, their first…read moreday open after Father's Day the prior Sunday. Our server was a nice girl but didn't exude intelligence or personality. I don't say those things as insults, I know a lot of people like that but I don't think that was what we or most people hope for when going to pay an arm and leg for a specialty cuisine like BBQ. We ordered the BBQ sampler for $63 (1/4 lb brisket, 1/4 lb pulled pork, 1/2 rack ribs, potato chips and 2 sides) we added an extra 1/4 lb of brisket and for the sides we chose baked beans and cornbread waffles. The menu said "out of ribs" so in lieu of ribs we ordered Burnt ends which I have been in the mood for and in search of for a while (a lot of bbq places in this area of NH don't have burnt ends) but wait! They had ribs! They didn't have burnt ends... so good job keeping up to date on that menu! So, we got the ribs. The food looked okay when it came out until you looked closer. The whole meal was heavily drizzled with bbq sauce in what I assume was a last ditch effort to make it look appetizing. Usually the moist smoked meats should speak for themselves. They very likely seemed to serve us the leftover Father's Day Brisket and if not, they have really awful, dry, jerky like brisket the entirety of which literally broke apart into dry flakes the second a fork touched it. The pulled pork was also pretty bad. It was charred as if after they pulled it they threw it over an open flame or back on the smoker which isn't commonplace in bbq as it's supposed to be smoked, pulled and served nice and juicy so I assume this was also leftovers. There were sections of it that were charred so bad it was like a burnt chunk of wood that was inedible but a little more than half of the serving was edible with bbq sauce. The Ribs were actually quite good! They were juicy and fell off the bone which is key for good BBQ but they did not redeem the meal yet only added an extra star to this would-have-been 1 star review. The cornbread waffles were floppy and cold, seemed more like an undercooked eggo than a modified cornbread from a good BBQ spot. The beans were fine, nothing to write home about but not disappointing in any notable way. The chips were very good and seemed like they could have been made in house but didn't see or hear anything to confirm this and I wasn't there for chips anyway. My Wife and her Mother both ordered cocktails at $16 a piece, when my wife tried to modify the type of liquor in her cocktail she was told they were batched (pre made In large quantities) with a certain brand of liquor which is not awesome but I guess acceptable for a brewery as it's specialty is supposed to be beer, I did not try any beer as I don't drink much especially on a Wednesday so unfortunately I can't judge the place's brewery ability which also lends itself to the 2nd star. When my wife's cocktail was served the server came out with a shaker and did the performance which I thought was also weird as we had just been told the cocktails are batched so we know you just poured pre batched cocktail in a shaker and shook it. We made our feelings known about the brisket and they were nice enough to refund the extra 1/4 lb we ordered which we did not ingest. The whole meal came out to $147 and we tipped fairly as we really held nothing against the server. They take your card at the door and put a $1 hold on the card which I don't love. After the meal the whole transaction turned into 2 separate transactions for the full amount of close to $200 one of which was taken right out of my bank the other pended for THREE DAYS while my bank held the funds. They should just charge you once the meal is complete. I really question the owners ability to run a business and make smart business decisions including hiring a good Chef. I will not go here ever again and I advise others to stay away unless a change is made. I hope the owner re evaluates his business model and his seriousness to be good because as the only actual bbq place within a high traffic big retail market they really have all the reason to be great. 2 stars. If you read this and say "food costs are high so they can't afford to throw away the leftovers from Father's Day and it's hard to run a small business!" Then maybe should volunteer to be their holiday leftover eater, as the only BBQ place in Salem I'm sure they are not struggling to make it as a small business and it's absolutely unacceptable to serve 3 day old meats. Brisket should be an absolute shining staple of a BBQ restaurant and they should take it very seriously. If these meats weren't leftovers and were in fact prepared the day we dined there then this place really is 1 star and needs to fire its kitchen and get someone serious in there.
