Thai fried rice with shrimp and spring rolls
    Ashlee S.

Perfect lunch spot! After a long visit at the urgent care down the street, we were in need of a quick but delicious lunch. One of the nurses recommended Sanphan and it's a good thing she did. The lunch specials were what enticed us most about this spot. Each meal comes with an appetizer and there are plenty of entree and appetizer options. I went with the cashew dish with chicken and my mom did the Thai fried rice. We ordered spring rolls as our appetizers. Our server was kind and attentive. We asked her for recommendations but they were quite limiting since she doesn't like curry dishes. The restaurant is spacious and there's a bar which is great for groups and those wanting cocktails. I will say they had the air conditioner blasting a little too cold even for a summer day.

I stopped in for a quick bite and cup of tea and enjoyed all that I ordered. I got fresh rice paper rolls and fried tofu (two appetizers) which were both lovely. It's a cute spot near the Eastern Market metro stop. Service was good and fast!

This place is banging! I had the lunch special for like 16 bucks. I have the this fried rice and it was simply wonderful. The basil and sweet soy sauce was amazing. There was plenty of chicken and for a lunch plate it was more than enough food to crave off hunger. Also, the lunch special came with an additional spring roll that was cooked to perfection. The service was quick, friendly and helpful. The decor was cozy and inviting. Definitely will be back and will try more!!!

Reliable Thai food. This place has been open for years. I have been here for happy hour, lunch, and dinner on multiple occasions. Service is always quick. The food is always reliable and good.

I haven't been here in a while. I love love love this place. This is an old gem for me. The service is still great and the food is still amazing. I love the feel of this restaurant in the inside. It's super cozy inside. This was my friend's first time and they really enjoyed their meals. We ate from all three of the plates. The drink was delicious too.

I stumbled into Sanphan Thai on a Sunday afternoon with friends after visiting Eastern Market. It was pretty empty when we walked in so we were quickly seated but more people came in over time. We ordered the See Eu Tofu, Panang curry, Veggie Pad Thai and Thai Iced Tea. Everyone loved their food. I personally thought the food was just okay but we all agreed the Thai Iced Tea was amazing! If you're in the area I'd recommend this spot if you want a relaxed setting for lunch or to catch up with friends.

Incredible flavors in the dishes. Pictures were snapped after we starting grubbing and had to stop long enough to show. 5 stars

I've been a couple of times recently trying the Green Curry and the Yellow Curry. This trip, I had the Panang Curry. All were pretty good. This is a tasty neighborhood choice. Friendly and efficient service. They do a lot ofntake out judging by the Uber pickups. The food isn't too spicy and the ingredients are fresh. Close to Eastern Market Metro. Parking is street. Give them a try.

My partner and I have always thoroughly enjoyed our meals here. She's always gotten the Basil Tofu, and even as a non-tofu lover, it's been her fav for years. It's always consistently full of flavor and perfectly cooked. I honestly enjoy it a lot myself. Personally I'm a huge pad thai lover and that have a great lunch special $12.95 (plus you get a crispy spring roll). Yum. I also love that they offer thai beer & drinks - makes it even better! I've also had a the pad see ew several times before that I enjoy as well. If you get something spicy and used to it - beware! Thai spice is spicy!! I always miss Thailand when i'm here. the food is fresh, tasteful, and consistent. The service is usually pretty good, but on the slower side inside. Majority of time I get the food to go though. The ambiance is very casual & chill. I'd recommend this place & will keep coming back!

Came here for an early dinner with high hopes and a happy hour deal! The crispy tofu and spring rolls were good but I was honestly not that impressed by the food. It was pretty average Thai food and wasn't that flavorful really either. I got the pad Thai with chicken so maybe a curry would have been a better way to go but it was overall just okay. The waiters were very nice though, we had a spilled drink and they brought us a new one which was nice.

Went to Sanphan on a snowy Tuesday night. The restaurant was actually quite busy, but the service was efficient, and friendly. After ordering, our food came out hot and fresh in just a few minutes. I don't really consider myself an expert on Pad Thai, but this was a great dish and I enjoyed every bite. My wife had the Panang curry and I could've seen myself eating a full order of that as well. We will definitely be back if we are in the neighborhood.

However, we wanted to order drinks first. I was able to order my cocktail, however, the waiter left before anyone else at my table could speak to order a beverage. Food came out very quickly. This is not the type of place where you would want to enjoy drinks and food over a period of time. However, if you are super hungry, your food will definitely get to you quickly. Restaurant was crowded, but not super loud. Overall, I would come back for the food, I just wish that I could have more time to enjoy my restaurant experience.

For our second meal, we tried the curry puffs, another curry, and the Larb salad. The Larb salad was an absolute standout-- it perfectly matched a nostalgic flavor from a favorite old restaurant of mine that no other place has ever been able to replicate until now!The entire staff was hilarious, engaging, and some even spoke Spanish. The dish seriously lacked flavor, and the egg wasn't properly broken up or incorporated into the noodles. Instead, there were basically two large chunks of egg in the dish. I also specifically asked for extra sauce and was willing to pay for it, but they very clearly did not add any extra sauce. I ended up throwing it away after only a few bites. I will say the rocket shrimp rolls were very good, and the sauce that came with them was also really good. They were easily the best part of the meal. That said, Pad See Ew is a pretty standard Thai dish and something most Thai restaurants easily nail, so I was surprised by how disappointing this was. Overall, definitely not a good experience and not somewhere I'd order from again.

The Tom Yum was solid and quite flavorful, a flux of tangy lemongrass with the oniony sweetness of steeped scallions, and enoki mushrooms to provide some heartiness. The Pad Thai Mun Goong was a chef specialty pad Thai made with stir fried rice noodle, prawns shrimp tomalley oil (a crucial element for this version), egg and bean sprouts, naturally topped with green onions, peanuts and a lime for squeezing, and this also was quite phenomenal.
