    Thai tea
    Kaya E.

I only stopped in to TipThai for a Thai Tea (I've been craving one ever since I've gotten back from Thailand). The service was fast, only waited about 3 minutes. The server was kind. And my Thai tea hit the spot! Inside is clean and there's lots of seating options inside as well as outside. I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit here so that I can try the food. They have all the traditional Thai dishes that I love like Tom Yum soup, Panang curry and mango sticky rice. Check them out if you're ever in downtown DC near the monuments.

Very convenient to the national mall. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Good pop music as well as TVs playing the World Cup. Restaurant was full and they were a bit slow to take out order but the food came out lightning fast. We had calamari, chicken satay, red curry cashew chicken and papaya salad. The food was good but not spectacular. Portions were ok. We had Mai Tai and Margaritas. These were ok.

Prices aren't established well in some ways as per my several visits here. Quality is good. However: their pad thai, drunken noodles, and tofu khao soi are exceptional. Tom yum was bland. The main man running the store in the front is dedicated, but i would appreciate it if they implemented feedback. This place is a family staple as well. Thai tea with spices is also really worth it.

I am a fan of Thai food and will continue my search to find the best Pad Thai in the city (I'm serious). This particular Chicken Pad Thai was above average in the area. If you were to present me various pad thais, I could tell you the TipThai versus others. I would definitely try more dishes from here, and it is in a good section of the city.

I was in town for a work conference and I love Thai food. This place popped up on my maps with a good review. The food was delicious with just the right amount of spice. I got the green curry and my coworker got drunken noodles. Again they both had great spice. I also got some cold sake which I had not had before. The place was a cute location in the center Was also a small bar you could sit at. The man who helped me was very kind and patient. They did add automatic gratuity which I was a little bit confused from since it was just a party of two. Not sure if that's something they do since it's close to a lot of the courthouses and such.

This is my new favorite takeout spot! I was on UberEats one day, saw that TipThai was having a special on the pad thai and panang curry, ordered it and I'm so glad I did! So flavorful, so tasty, just so so good! I get mild pad Thai and medium panang curry and these spice levels are just fine for me. The panang curry comes with the perfect amount of rice and if you're feeling up for a Thai tea, you won't be disappointed! I'm so glad I found this place and will probably be ordering again in the next week!

The food here is good, price is great for portion size imo, staff here is very nice- always checks up on us!! The duck is very good!! And the nam tok is so flavorful I really liked it. It's very cozy inside.

When nearby Rice Bar was unexpectedly closed for lunch, my friend and I pivoted to this Thai restaurant. Yelp gave it decent reviews. Walking in on a Friday around 11:40am, we got a seat inside right away. Despite being busy, the man serving was pretty efficient. Water in paper cups came straight away and once we asked, he brought the bill. Overall, the food was decent. The Thai iced tea is sweet. The chicken green curry isn't a big portion, but it tasted like it should.

Wow is all I can say because this has to be the freshest Thai food delivery I ever had! Just got my order from Uber Eats and I tell you the $40 something dollar I spent is real worth it. I ordered Pad See Ew beef medium heat, mango and sticky rice, wonton soup, and regular fried rice with shrimp all medium heat. I'm glad I started with medium because it was spicy but not too much. So when I order again I will definitely try and inch up to the hot! Food came out hot and fresh and I sampled all so I could make sure I gave my honest opinion. And they did not disappoint. Everything was delicious! I can't wait to make my way inside the restaurant if delivery is this good...I know actually sitting down at the restaurant would be just as good or even better. They had a discount in (2) of the items so that was good and I save a little coin!

Great food! Very fresh! Excellent service! If I lived here I would be a regular. I had fried tofu a chicken salad and a glass of table Chardonnay. (I had already started eating before I took the pictures)

Stopped in to grab a bite before the concert. Between us we ordered: Summer Rolls Crab Rangoon Pad Ginger The summer rolls had a lot of sprigs of cilantro which overpowered it a bit and we like cilantro. The Crab Rangoon was perfect and the Pad Ginger was a little sweeter than I'm used to but very tasty. The service was great and very quick. Cute little restaurant.

While the food was ok. It was expensive. Portion was small especially appetizer. When I asked rice to be replaced to salad, most restaurants won't mind and would gladly change it for free. At the price point of $23, it really wasn't a big deal. Yet this restaurant wanted me to pay extra for salad. My eyes popped when I saw the size of calamari and satay (both appetizers)at $10 each. Satay had three pieces, while calamari had 10 pc. How cheap! The waitress, though friendly, charged us tips without consents. At the end we paid $100+ for cafeteria quality food. Won't be back if we ever come back to DC.

LOOOOKKKKKK... Knock my socks off why don't you! WOW! Ordered UBEREATS && wanted Thai but I didn't think we were getting this greatness! Everything was simply amazing from the real spice level to the authentic fresh taste to perfection and that's coming from 4 huge Thai cuisine lovers! Portions were great sizes and everything was just great! PHOTOS DON'T EVEN DO IT JUSTICE! You just have to try! Also, excuse photos because we had already started eating && didn't expect to like it like we did!

I don't even know how to describe the energy in this place, but you can just feel it the moment you walk in. The restaurant has a dark aesthetic that gives it such a cool, cozy ambiance. My daughter and I ordered the Dan Dan noodles and spicy wontons. Everything was so filling that we ended up ordering another bowl of the Dan Dan noodles! And honestly, I still crave them. The Dan Dan noodles were SO good. The sauce was the perfect combination of creamy and spicy, and there was a generous amount of minced pork that balanced everything out really well. The wontons paired perfectly with the chili sauce that came with them! They were spicy--my ears turned red and my nose started running--but I literally could not stop going back for another bite. Even the wontons alone were incredibly filling. I don't live anywhere near this place, and I genuinely wish I did. I traveled pretty far to get here, and I'd absolutely do it again. Let me start by saying I recently visited Daikaya on Monday, August 3, 2026, and unfortunately the…read moreservice that day was disappointing. I gave that particular visit 1 out of 5 stars. However, I also want to mention that Daikaya is one of my family's favorite ramen spots, so we were genuinely surprised by the experience because it has always been much better in the past. When we arrived, we were told that our entire party had to be present before we could be seated, which we understood. We also know that seating is first come, first served. In the past, we've been able to sit in a booth with two people, but this time we were informed that booths were reserved for parties of three or more. It was a little frustrating because the restaurant was slow at the time, and my wife politely explained that we would likely be finished before the dinner rush. Even so, we respected the policy and waited until a seat became available. I do want to give Terry a shoutout because he was very kind and professional. I explained that I couldn't sit at the bar due to my foot, and he was understanding. However, when he relayed that information to another employee, I immediately noticed a change in the other gentleman's body language and attitude. He seemed irritated about having to seat us. Once we were seated, the interaction only became more uncomfortable. He slammed our cups onto the table, and when I asked for a straw, he didn't hand it to me--he simply placed it down without saying much. There were several other small interactions throughout our meal that made us feel unwelcome. It reached the point where we decided we'd rather leave, so we flagged Terry down, asked for to-go containers, and requested the check. During our visit, I also noticed a party of four seat themselves and grab their own menus while both servers had their backs turned at the bar. When the same gentleman approached them, his demeanor was completely different. He was pleasant, took their order right away, and their food came out promptly. Watching that interaction made our experience feel even more disappointing. The food, thankfully, was excellent as always. That's one thing Daikaya continues to get right. I also noticed that none of the staff members we're used to seeing--who have always been warm, welcoming, and respectful--were working that day. Overall, this visit was a rare disappointment because the customer service simply wasn't up to the standard we've experienced over the years. While this particular experience deserves a low rating, I also want to acknowledge that every previous visit has been excellent. I'm hoping this was just an off day because Daikaya has consistently been one of our favorite places for ramen.
