Awful $7 California roll. No avacado/ visible green pieces were all cucumber. Poor quality fake crab.
    Tess W.

Incredibly dissapointed. Ordered through a food delivery service. When it arrived there was no soy sauce, chopsticks, spoons, or napkins (and what is sushi without soy sauce?!) I called and asked if I could place an order just for soy sauce since I was in a hotel with none available and was told no and they'd just remember to not forget them for future customers. The miso soup was awful with large chunks of miso paste undisolved at the bottom of the styrofoam container (I ordered 3 and all were awful and had the same paste chunks) . For a $7 California roll their roll was inexcusable. Junk fake crab, with 1-2 small pieces of cucumber and no avacado at all. I got two and both had the same issues. The shrimp tempura roll did technically contain avacado but the "pieces" were so small they were nothing more than green smears on the seaweed paper in 70% of the pieces, not even an actual piece you could remove from the roll. Awful experience, awful food. (I cannot comment on restaurant facility as food was delivered. Also, I did check with food deliverer and there was no additional bag potentially containing forgotten items, that had failed to be delivered.)

Me and my partner decided to try this spot today! Let's say, there are better options…read more For starters with atmosphere it was great! Very clean establishment and good vibes with shoji screens and lighting. Our service was very good too! We explained how we have never been here before and our waitress explained in full detail the how to and their menu. She came back at a good rate and was very nice. Me and my partner got the standard course for two. It was around $68. That's a lot in my opinion for not that much food compared to a Korean bbq. The galbi short ribs for example, they only gave us 3. They couldn't even give us 4? Two each? That in general is also crazy small. The rest of the meats were flat pieces like brisket and little steak bits. That's not a lot of food. It looks like a lot but when meat shrinks it's just tasters. I'm not impressed with the amount I'm spending with the amount of food. It's honestly not a lot when you really break it down. We did try the mochi and me and my partner agreed that was probably the best mochi ice cream we have had. Plenty of options, very delicious and tasty. If you want some sort of BBQ experience, I would not come here as my first option. You're just wasting money when you can go to an all you can eat and order practically everything. If you wanted Individual plates of soemthing, for example the galbi short ribs for a plate was around $14. Cmon now. We wouldn't come back here. It was decent, too expensive for what you're getting. There's just better options to try. Thank you.

It is about time we have a Yakiniku place in El Paso, and I'm happy it's GyuKaku!…read more The location is really nice and can suit one well for a birthday, dinner date, entertain the visiting executive from out of town, or just because you crave Yakiniku, which I often do. The menu is amazing! I ordered so much I forget what I even had specifically, I just know we started with Kalbi and ended with garlic chicken and had everything from crispy rice to spicy pork in between. The service was great! And we met the owners, Dennis and Ran, and expressed our gratitude for bringing such an establishment to the borderland! Can't wait to go back

Is it the best ramen I've ever had? No, but it was good and it was pleasant until it wasn't. A man came in to the restaurant and approached my husband and I. I thought he was going to try and sell us something as this has happened to me a few times here in El Paso. I'm not from here, my husband is stationed here and I haven't seen anything like this since I was a young adult living in the inner city of Los Angeles. So while I'm not alarmed by this, I am put off by it. This experience was different though, the man was panhandling. I have never ever been approached for money inside an establishment. It was very awkward as my Spanish is extremely elementary and my husband doesn't speak it. I tried to explain to the man that I didn't have cash on me and was desperately hoping the staff would kindly help the man. He lingered for a long time, almost ruining our lunch. The man waiting on us saw and did nothing. Listen, I'm not heartless but I can't help every person panhandling. The staff should take care of this situation and not pass on the responsibility to their customers. I'm sorry but this looks very poorly on the City of El Paso which I hate to say, I think it's a wonderful beautiful city. If I were not Latina or hadn't experienced similar situations like this in my youth I'd have been clutching my pearls and would have left. I know this will come off as heartless, it broke my heart. I don't know this man or his situation and I couldn't properly communicate with him, put on the spot at that. Please, staff at establishments, handle these situations in kind, dignified ways to both your customers and people fallen on hard times- it's your responsibility, not the customer's.

El Paso…read morewas one of our last stops on the way and we searched for Guy Fieri's visited restaurant list and found Kaemada. We had wonderful meals of BBQ, Southern, American and Mexican food but we started to miss our Ramen meals back home. This place was great. Ot had a youthful, edgy vibe with cozy and nice colorful decor. We ordered the Thicc Boi and Birria Ramen, and ordered sides of the Thai Peanut Cucumber Salad, and Pork buns. The salad was a nice appetizer. We wished we had this back home. The dressing tasted peanutty with black sesame seeds and a nice acid balance. Kaemada's Ramen has El Paso influences. The broth had full bodied flavor, the meat was cut thicker with grilled char! Please also try the Birrea Ramen! We eat Birria broth and tacos at home and this ramen bowl was a great marriage of the 2 dishes. The thick cut and grilled char feature was also included in the pork bun. It was so tasty and satisfying with the thick pork cut, which I often thought was too thin anyways in the original version. They took the best El Paso meat flavor and Japanese presentation influences to make Kaemada's dish unique and their own. Don't expect the delicate and refined dashi broth Japan has. Be open to the bold flavors of the pork and broth. Expect a Southwest and Japanese fusion of robust and evolved flavors. Personally, I like firm noodles so request it cooked this way. Izzy, our server was friendly and attentive. She made our meal there more pleasant. Don't forget to order the Yuzu Cheesecake, light and not so sweet with a strong presence of Yuzu. A great finish to our meal. 10/10.
