I visited this restaurant around 8:00 p.m. on a Monday evening while in town for a business trip…read more It was conveniently located near my hotel, and my first impression was very positive. The restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere, was busy with guests, and I was seated within just a few minutes of arriving. Unfortunately, the experience began to decline after I was seated. I waited approximately 10-15 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. While waiting, I looked through the menu and was surprised to find it noticeably dirty, which wasn't the impression I expected from a restaurant of this caliber. When my server finally arrived, she was polite but didn't seem particularly welcoming or engaging. She appeared stressed, which made the service feel rushed rather than hospitable. I ordered a Diet Dr Pepper and my meal at the same time since I had already decided what I wanted. It then took another 10 or more minutes for my drink to arrive. Shortly afterward, someone delivered bread with honey butter, which was excellent. However, no bread plate, napkin, or silverware accompanied it, so I had to flag down another employee before I could enjoy it. After waiting another 20-plus minutes, my steak and fries finally arrived. I had ordered the steak medium rare, but it was burned on one side, barely seared on the other, and when I cut into it, it was blue rare--nearly raw. I asked my server to send it back, and she promptly took it to the kitchen. About 15 minutes later, a replacement steak arrived. Unfortunately, while the opposite side was now burned, the inside was cooked to medium well. I let my server know this was still unacceptable, and she asked if I would like another steak prepared. I agreed, requesting simply that it be cooked medium rare without being burned. To the restaurant's credit, the third steak was prioritized and delivered by who I believe was the manager. She asked me to cut into it to confirm it was cooked correctly. Although the replacement was noticeably smaller and thinner than the original, it was cooked to a proper medium rare, so I accepted it. By that point, however, my fries were completely cold. The manager apologized briefly but never returned to check on the meal or my overall experience. My server didn't return until I was nearly finished eating, at which point she asked if everything was okay. I simply requested the check. What should have been about a 30-minute dinner stretched to well over an hour, and after a long day of business travel, I was ready to return to my hotel. I wasn't expecting my meal to be completely comped, but after multiple mistakes and significant delays, a small gesture of goodwill--such as discounting the entrée or even comping the soda--would have gone a long way. Overall, this restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere, and I believe the food has the potential to be very good when prepared correctly. However, the service, management's follow-up, and overall attention to the guest experience fell well below what I would expect from a restaurant of this quality. I hope they can improve these areas because the restaurant certainly has the potential to provide an excellent dining experience.

Came back today, was in a bit of a cranky mood and short of patience. I was greeted as I stood up to the bar even though the bartender Moses was insanely busy at the time. I got a menu and a beer quickly, and took a seat. I ordered the brisket tacos, I had remembered them as epic the last time and I was not disappointed. Fresh taste, the brisket was delicious and I cleaned up the 3 tacos within minutes. Washed it down with a cold Dos XX and I was in my food endorphins rich happy place. Literally, everybody in the bar was friendly, everybody's laughing and joking, it just has that great sports bar roadhouse feel. The air smells of good food instead of stale beer, there's the classics of pool and darts, if you can't have a good time here you probably won't be happy anywhere. Shout out to Moses running the front and Jonathan crushing the food in the back. This has to be the first time I have ever been approached by both the bartender and the cook coming to check on me, they both demonstrate the great quality among successful hospitality professionals. Yes, I know this is wordy, but let's just be basic now. The food was friggin great, the beer tasted good, i'm coming back, and I'm bringing others with me.

I literally did nothing besides walk in the bar and talk to the people I know. She is extremely unprofessional and when she found out that I reported her unprofessionalism she retaliated by creating situation to get the result that she wanted (me leaving). She will talk about you behind your back to other customers. Even the cook called me the hard "er" if you know what I mean. This was nothing more than a racial scheme to be petty and racist. It's okay, though. I'm used to it but this level or racism is appalling.

Needless to say, we brought home three boneless wings and the majority of fried sides without room for dessert. The wings were probably the overall best I've had in EP so far. I'll definitely be back. Great service, adorable ambiance, and delicious food. It's worth the wait but it's definitely a wait when they're busy.

The wings are so big, these aren't your usual run of the mill frozen wings fried to order, the breading flavorful, the wings were fried hot and deliciously. I had to wait for my food to cool down to eat it, and that's saying something. We had fries with queso (and I don't recommend that, the queso was so plain and became hard quickly, but the fries were good). We tried traditional hot buffalo and the double dip sauce or something like that. It was a sweet and spicy mix that was so good and a house favorite. I definitely recommend giving them both a try. We ordered 20 wings and came home with 8. The food was filling and it wasn't much more than any other mid priced establishment. The restaurant is inside multiple train cars what are lined up parallel to each other. You can look out of the windows and see another train car of guests enjoying delicious food. The menu was very diverse with burgers, steaks, salads, nachos and of course wings. The table next to us ordered the Philly nachos and the smell of the steak, cheese and pepper combination filled the car. The only down side to being in a train car was the noise definitely echos. If you are next to screaming babies or a loud table of tipsy women your ears will be ringing a bit, but I'd say it's still worth it and maybe just part of the experience. Another downside is no garlic wings, oh man I wish they had that on the menu because I'm sure they'd be amazing. Regardless, this is an awesome stop and one we plan to bring family to. The food is tops, the service was great and the atmosphere was pretty cool too. I've included a picture of some leftovers, these wings are even good the day after and they are so big.

We had about a 5 minute wait and our server John was on point. He took our drink order and brought waters as well in case. He also soon after brought us these huge bread rolls for the table. Fresh from the oven. We had a group of 6 so we ordered a potato skin appetizer (6pcs). It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I ordered the peppercorn NY strip with steak fries. Medium cooked, it was so juicy and perfectly cooked. I can say it's in the top 10 I have ever had. So delicious. Can't wait to go back to El Paso. I did see this restaurant has other locations in New Mexico. So if I go there I will seek them out. Please enjoy a steak at the cattle baron.

I was finna get the 6oz sirloin, which I have before and it's nice. Then I saw the 8oz Helen breast anyway you want it. Mmm I think I'll get that instead. Then I'm scanning on down the list and see 8 oz chopped round. With mushroom gravy. I can't do potatoes right now but I could do rice. And add a salad bar and some steamed broccoli, still only be about $21 and that's with the ice tea. And fresh baked bread and butter at the table. So I ordered that with gravy in the rice, cuz I likes gravy on it ALL, and I did add the Broccoli for $3.95 and a salad bar for $4.95. But she let me hold putting in the order so I could get most is the salad are before they started it. So I get it fresh, not sitting on my table for 20 minutes getting cold like last time I came when I barely got back to the table with the salad and they brought my steak out. The cook FAST here. Salad bar here is IMMENSE. And so many choices for salad, Romain, mixed greens or spinach, tons of toppings and at least 10 different kinds of dressings. At least 6 different what I call "prepared" salads like macaroni, potato, carrot, pea salad, beets and onion salad, some kind of angel hair with green online and bell peppers on olive oil and black pepper and a dash of vinegar? It's so good when they have it. Two soups always, today was tortilla and vegetable, which upon inspection looked more like a creamy potato with carrots and other veggies and diced potatoes of course, maybe they just had not changed it's name plate. I make a wonderful salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. Love chilled plates. When my lunch/dinner came it was on a huge round plate, the ground round was suspiciously SMALL. I used to work in a cafeteria and we sold 8oz chipped steaks and they were rice the size of what was in my plate. It actually really looked more like a hamburger patty. It would have fit perfectly on a small hamburger bun. If I had to guess I'd say head it's 1/3rd pound burger. Which is a tic over 5 oz. Not 8 ounces. The brucellosis was a large serving and bright green, and almost still raw. I could not cut it with a fork. I had to used a steak knife. I should have asked that it be steamed fork tender. That's on me, I guess. I just don't like "steamed" broccoli that still could pass as salad bar accoutrement. There was no gravy in the rice, even thought I expressly asked for gravy in the meat and rice. So as she sat the plate in front of me and asked if I needed any this else I said "gravy" and she said oh that's right it was supposed to be on the rice, I'll get some gravy. And a minute or so later another smiling lady brought me small bowl of gravy. The sweet tea was perfect. I even had a refill on that. The ground steak was cooked nicely, juicy and hot, the mushroom gravy was very flavorful and the rice pilaf was a perfect companion to it. I forgot to take pics, sorry, I just dug right in. This is still a great early dinner price and great choices. I'm definitely gonna get the 8 ounce chicken breast your way, next time. But which way shall I choose??? Decisions, decision!
