The bad, my situation: About a week ago, I found myself stuck in San Jose with a broken down truck. I have AAA Road Service, and I called them for help. I was told that the estimate for a tow driver was 240 minutes. If we're doing the math, that's four hours. I was unhappy, but I had to get to Dublin which was a distance. Apparently the issue was getting someone to accept a call to come 27 miles to come and get me. Every 30 minutes I called them for an update, and every time I called it was a different story. First it was no one would except the call for the distance, then it was someone was dispatched and they were waiting for an update, then there was no driver again. I ended up waiting four an a half hours. Why did I wait this long, because I was trying to give them a chance and I was trying to avoid the cost of a commercial driver. The good, my solution; I finally pulled the trigger and decided to call for a commercial tow, knowing that I could get reimbursed by AAA (which takes at least 30 days, by the way, for a service that I pay for that they were unable to provide for me). I found Santa Rita Tow. Jake was the on-call driver that night, and I told him it I knew it was a longshot, but would he be willing to come to San Jose to pick me up. Less than five minutes later he had agreed to it, given me my price, and I saw him about 35 minutes later. He was extremely professional, very personable, and just really nice. It was such a pleasure to have a pleasant ride home after such a rotten day. I'm very grateful for this company, and if my truck should need it again, these guys will be the first ones I call. I requested a tow on 12/06/2023 on a Rainey night for my pickup truck that had blown a power steering hose and I thought was undrivable based on information my mechanic told me. After a long morning of ocean fishing out in San Leandro with my friend and my boyfriend, we found ourselves pulled over in a business parking lot evaluating the condition of my friend's boat trailer. The trailer wheel area had started smoking, and it was clear that we wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon. We contacted multiple companies in the area and finally found Santa Rita Tow available to come out and tow my friend's trailer and 19-foot boat from Pleasanton to Elk Grove. We were quoted a 30 minute wait, and as promised, the tow truck came around the corner in 30 minutes. The guy who came to help us out (sorry, I didn't get his name) was super patient and deftly maneuvered my friend's trailer and boat onto the tow truck. We told him we could lead the way back to Elk Grove, and he followed us to my friend's house, driving carefully and following closely the whole way. When it came to lowering the trailer and boat onto my friend's driveway, he took his time to ensure that the trailer would hold up and they worked together to get trailer and boat down. I needed my SUV towed from my home to the dealership but I was nervous about the one star reviews. I took a chance though, because the business is conveniently located close to where I needed to go. I called to schedule a pickup, and the guy said he could have a truck over within the hour. As promised, Jake arrived within the hour, was professional, friendly, and wearing a mask. I went inside my house to gather a few things so that I could follow in a separate car. By the time I came out, my SUV was on the truck bed and strapped down. This review is long overdue! Our local neighborhood watch group was in its infancy, and our first big project was planning for the annual National Night Out street party in August 2018. Unfortunately, time was super short and funds were even shorter. After waiting over 3.5 hrs for roadside assistance (car just stopped!) thru our insurance company that never materialized (we were in the middle of a very busy intersection!), we called Santa Rita Tow. Jake gave us a quick quote (luckily we were willing and able to pay out of pocket, but our ins carrier reached him and covered the charge). He showed up in about 12 minutes!!! I would give this business negative stars if I could. I got two flats at 5:30 in the morning after hitting a huge pothole on 680 south, so I drove to the nearest gas station and called a bunch of tow companies. They all had super long waits due to the rain, so I called Santa Rita tow. The guy on the phone said it would be roughly an hour [but not less than that] and he would come to me. I waited an hour and a half and called him back. He gave me some story about getting another call and said that it would take him longer to get to me. I said fine AND WAITED ANOTHER HOUR. I'd been there for 3 hours at this point. I was tired and fed up, so I called him back to check his ETA and he never even f***ing answered OR called me back to tell me ANYTHING. I ended up finding another service that was nearby and arrived in minutes. He asked all the pertinent questions on the phone [so he could bring the correct truck] and even took me to a second destination when the first one told us that my tires are special order, and he didn't charge me any additional fees. I don't care HOW busy you are, it is TERRIBLE for business to keep potential customers waiting for HOURS and then never even show up or call back. SHAME ON YOU, SANTA RITA TOW! read more

My wife was involved in an accident in Pleasanton, and I needed a tow back to our house in Dublin - I had just got in from work, was tired, and really not in the mood to deal with all this. Checked Yelp, was impressed at the reviews (not too many, but all good, and definitely from real people) - so gave them a call. I called them around 7:10pm - the phone was answered fast, by a polite chap who confirmed the location, and asked me when I'd be able to get back to the site of the accident. I asked if half an hour would be okay - he confirmed, and said he'd be there in 30 minutes. I headed back there, fully expecting to have to wait around for a while - the tow truck arrived at 7:40pm (half an hour later) on the dot - super impressive. The operator (completely forgotten his name, apologies) was super nice, and extremely efficient. His daughter was along for the ride too (very nice young lady), and handled payment - the price was very reasonable, and they took credit card, and provided a receipt (in duplicate for my insurance) as requested. I'd definitely use them again - the times when my insurance company has sent me a tow company, they've never arrived on time, and have been gruff and standoff-ish.
