    Never answer my calls. Called in for a tow multiple times however I had better luck on getting the quote from other companies.

    They had me wait for 2 hours and 30 mins after initial call from tow driver's voicemail at 10:15am…read moresaying he was coming in 30 mins. Called driver after v/m but his tel# was their ofc tel# so you can't even talk directly to the driver. I waited an hour then called ofc, was told she'll have driver call me back. No call rec'd. Called again after 2.5 hrs and was transferred to this guy who's said he was the driver who called )but he had a diff accent, plus he was very rude). he said he was 10 mins from me on his v/m (told him I can show him his v/m message saying 30 mins. He said no, he said he was the tow mgr and that bec i didn't p-up he cancelled the tow.??? Who does that, if they say 30 mins, you wait. If they're canceling bec they got v/m which was also questionable, you leave that on the v/m so it's clear. He was a total jerk, he yelled at me and told me to stop cutting him off every time (he lied) and then asked if I still want him to come and be here in 20 mins? I told him NO! Unbelievable!!! So rude and deceitful. I can't believe they stay in business.

    I ordered a car tow, and the driver jump-started my car to switch it to neutral. It was really…read moreunpleasant to look at my bill and find an extra $100 fee for the jump-start, which is a service I never asked for and could have done myself. Here are the reasons I gave Golden Way Towing one star: 1. The service is not what I asked for. I was towing the car to service shop to change the battery. 2. I wasn't told about the $100 extra cost beforehand when the driver offered to do a jump-start to switch the car to neutral for towing. I could have charged the battery and switched to neutral myself, if he had made it clear. 3. The extra $100 charge is outlandish. After the jump-start, my engine started temporarily, so the driver nicely mentioned that it would be $100 if I don't tow the vehicle any more. I understood that since he already made the trip, it's going to cost $100 whether I tow my car or not. In other words, $100 is their price for an entire trip to jumpstart a car. However, they added an extra $100 to my original $100 bill when the driver was already there to tow my car, so it's like I got charged for both a jumpstart-call and a tow-call. 4. The secretary talked down on me with bad analogies and compared my call for a price-correction to begging for free burgers from McDonalds (notably, McDonalds will actually just give you the burger if there's a reasonable doubt in a dispute, because McDonald's is actually professional unlike Golden Way Towing). 5. The manager insists, as if he were there, that the driver explained the pricing before he jump-started the car, and said it's my word vs his. So that's the kind of position you can expect to be put in with Golden Way Towing. Don't use Golden Way, and if you must, record every conversation you have with them.

After trying, unsuccessfully, to get my car to move, my husband called Golden State Fleet for assistance. Sean showed up within 20 minutes of the call. I cannot say enough about how fantastic of a job he did. He was so polite and professional. He checked out the situation and knew right away what to do. He was able to get my car off the curb and to a safe parked location until I was able to get my car started again. Sean's professionalism and knowledge made me feel comfortable when he was handling my classic car. He used extra care to protect my tailpipes while loading the car on the bed of his truck. He was careful loading and unloading my car. If you find yourself in need of a tow or getting yourself out of a sticky situation, I highly recommend Golden State Fleet!

They absolutely did not create the problem -- but they still worked with me to help find a reasonable resolution when they didn't have to. That meant a lot. April, the operations manager, is very kind, fair, and personable and helped me navigate the logistics of having a salvage company come and pick up the vehicle. These are the nicest people you hope you never have to deal with -- but if you do find yourself needing a tow yard, you'll be in good hands here.

And the last thing you want on top of everything else is to confront an unprofessional, disrespectful, and discombobulated towing company who doesn't know their own addresses or phone numbers. Because of their "miscommunications," we spent spent nearly $100 in Ubers trying to find their unmarked tow yard and offices with incorrect addresses. After nearly 3 hours, we finally located their building (thanks to the CHP). I explained our experience to VANESSA, the secretary with the blue in her hair, about our customer experience and expressed we were very unsatisfied customers and had never had such a poor customer-service experience. While sitting in the lobby, I told my boyfriend I refused to pay for another Uber and it was up to the company to provide an ounce of customer service. Immediately I hear Vanessa start yelling from behind me. "You know what, now you're really starting to annoy me. I didn't get your car towed, YOU DID. NOT ME. YOU GOT YOUR CAR TOWED! THIS IS ON YOU." Her mocking / shaming me continued for about 15 seconds until I was able to get my phone and begin filming her. She stopped immediately. Apparently the police department doesn't do their own towing, and outsourced to American Tow. After two hours of waiting and paperwork to get the release form, we called American Tow to pick up the car. No answer. We tried calling a few times and finally got an answer. Apparently they are more than happy to tow your car on a weekend, but if you want the car back, there's an extra weekend fee. We waited another two hours for the driver to come open the office and another hour The driver we eventually met at the office was friendly and helpful. He was nice and willing to help as much as he could. +1 for nice service. I had to laugh at the way they process credit cards. No Square reader or even antiquated POS - he literally had to call it in. I suppose this isn't too shocking after seeing the office - everything looks like it came from a nearby rummage sale especially the 1940s arm chairs. The car was banged up from the joyride, so no way to say how good of care they took of the car, I'm afraid.
