I had the steak tips and chicken tips both were superb bland. I don't think the marinate the meat or use salt and pepper. As much as I like the food here, the staff's attitude is enough to make me never want to come back. The attitude, especially from the older staff is very unwelcoming, pushy and rude. Around Christmastime we came in with a large party and the waitress freaked out because we added an extra chair to the table. You can just see the look of dread on their face when they see a large party come in, a look of pure and total contempt. Solid experience from start to finish. I walked in and was greeted by the irresistible smell of an old school Italian pizzeria. The Peabody location is bigger than the original, so I highly recommend this one if you have a bigger party. The ambience is no frills and neither is the menu. They offer a handful of pizzas (around $16 each) and wood-fire grilled steak tips, lamb tips, and sausage (around $7-8 each, whaaat?). We ordered meat lovers pizza, garlic cheese pizza, and allll the meats. Pizza was incredible. Not a huge surprise there, since that's what this joint is known for. Each one is enough for 1 - 3 people. Crust was thin and crispy around edges but softer towards the center. I think what really impressed me was the SAUCE. So fresh and tangy. Yes. Meat plates were also bursting with flavor. I can't really pick a favorite. Maybe the lamb? Each plate comes with a big cube of fresh, fluffy bread and hot peppers (caution on these). Did delivery to the hotel, but that's not the issue. I ordered a two-topping pizza, which wasn't bad. Although it had a bit too much sauce and the crust was a bit crispy on the edges. The pizza wasn't the issue. I got the steak tips and the 5 pieces aren't worth $14. They were a bit small and are also unseasoned and a bit chewy. The site also asks if you need utensils and condiments. I clicked yes, but none came. I was in the area last year and it was a frequent spot for a quick dinner and I gave them a pretty decent review. Love East Boston Santarpios and most of the time the one on the North Shore in Peabody, but someone needs to look into one of the young female workers. I was there on Monday, Aug. 7, 2023. I tried to reach Santarpios by phone for about a half hour between 2:15 - 2:45 PM , but no one picked up. Once I got someone on the phone, I placed my order. When I got there, the place was quiet - maybe a couple of guests. There was no one at the take out counter and I waited there for about 15 minutes. All of a sudden a young girl comes out from behind a table area which is behind the take out counter to wait on me. I was not happy to know that this person was not more available for people coming to pick up take outs. My food was just warm and I would like for someone in mgt. to address this situation I experienced. No one should be invisible when it is not busy and you gave to go orders waiting. This is my first visit to the new Santarpio's on route one in Peabody. I'm not sure why I waited so long all my friends of been there the facility is much better newer cleaner upgraded from the original Santarpio's in East Boston which is very good. I ordered the old standby a cheese pizza extra well done and a steak tips and lamb sausage combination. As usual my pizza was cooked perfectly tasted great crunchy Crust Soft Center, Street cheese just excellent. The barbecue of course my steak tips tasted great my favorite the lamb sausage if you've never had a lamb sausage from Santarpio's this is a must try on your visit. And of course a big chunk of Italian bread with some cherry peppers there is nothing like a hot pepper with some oil and hot cherry peppers to accompany the lamb sausage the menu has many many items on it these are just a couple of my old standby favorites. This new location has plenty of parking with a large private parking lot. Easy access on route one northbound. The staff is very helpful polite. I Give Santarpio's Pizza a Solid 4 Stars. read more

I really like the East Boston location, as my former office used to have pizzas catered from there. I wanted to take a few out-of-towners to a pizza place that I thought was the best (or close to) in the area. However, the Eastie location was inconvenient, so I was hoping this location would provide a suitable facsimile. I came in on a Saturday night and getting seated was no problem. The server was generally polite and showed a little bit of personality, which I could appreciate. He seemed interested in describing specials and the barbecue. The only complaint about service was that food came pretty slowly. I ordered the special lamb sausages as an appetizer. I really liked the flavor and spices in the sausage. However, the sausage itself was rather dry and needed help by the way of bread or olive oil. I ordered a sausage and garlic pizza; mushroom, onions, and peppers; and a white pizza of chicken and broccoli. All three pizzas were very good and had their distinctive positives. The sausage was my favorite, as I really liked the savory spice the sausage provided. It seemed like the restaurant puts in some good care with the sausage. The vegetable pizza was good too, as the veg had some decent roasted flavor to it. The chicken and broccoli had a nice creamy texture and flavor. The chicken wasn't dry either. For all three pizzas, I really liked the fact that there wasn't too much tomato or white sauce, respectively. The pizzas had a good amount of cheese. Plus the tomato sauce wasn't sweet either, which I've found in other pizza places. The only major complaint I have for the pizzas is that the crust is a bit too overwhelming - definitely need to reduce that crust size. There aren't that many places around here that have the reputation for pizza. So if you know someone that's a pizza snob and you want to prove Boston can hold its own, take him/her here. If you are looking for fancy, you're looking at the wrong place. If you are looking for good tasting pizza and bbq meats regardless of the environment, Santarpio's the right place for you. The restaurant is a little old and rustic, and it's a little weird that there are lottery forms that you can fill out at every table. There are tvs all around, so you're basically forced to watch lottery ads that encourage you to play the lottery. But that aside, the pizza is awesome! The pizzas only come in one size, around 8-9 inches wide. The rule of thumb according to the restaurant is two people to one pizza. The pizza topping choices are pretty standard, but you should note that the toppings are added below the cheese instead of being on top like usual. The crust is a really good consistency, slightly crispy on the outside, a little soft and chewy on the inside. I think the factor that sets them apart is their sauce. I can't put my finger on what it is in the sauce, but I am convinced the sauce makes the difference! Since their sausages were strongly recommended, we decided to try the lamb sausage. Each order of sausage only comes with one sausage, some bread and peppers. I wish they gave olive oil/butter for the bread! The sausage was extremely charred on the outside, and I felt that it was a little dry inside. But it was extremely well seasoned, and I still enjoyed it very much. read more

We come here all the time and grew up going to the one in east Boston. Tonight we walked in the Peabody location at 8:30 the closing time is posted as 9. After waiting for a few minutes, a lady (I'm assuming the bartender) aggressively yells from across the bar that they are closed. I used to like going here but this bad experience makes me not want to return. If they are open until 9, then they should be open until 9. If the employees want to close at 8:30, then why not set their hours to close at 8:30 rather than have an angry lady yell across the bar. Then again, if they change the closing time to 8:30 the employees will probably start closing at 8. I know that if this was my business and my servers were controlling my closing time and business I wouldn't be too happy. read more
