The food is exceptional and has surpassed any expectation regarding cuisine we've experienced in many different restaurants. Regarding staffing, no words can express the sincere professionalism, courtesy, kindness, friendliness, warmth that is received with each and every visit. Namely Danny (irreplaceable), Mark (irreplaceable), Donna (irreplaceable) Melvin (irreplaceable), "Field" (irreplaceable), Jamie (irreplaceable), Olivia (irreplaceable). If we have forgotten anyone, please forgive us but I am POSITIVE they too add a sense of class and elegance to this fine establishment. Our only concern and disappointment is the newly appointed manager by the name of "Lance" who by our personal observation does NOT relate well with the staff and communicates with them in a disrespectful and abrasive manner. He exhibits mannerisms more suitable for a fast-food establishment. In our opinion he is definitely NOT qualified as Clark's material. We considered never re-visiting Clark s restaurant until he was no longer on staff, however staff insisted we return and not let his temperament dampen our experience. For those who frequent Clark's, please continue to patronize this great establishment and enjoy the unique FEEL and AMBIANCE that makes Clark's the beautiful place that it is..... She finally came to the register and said no ticket, oh do you know who your waitress was, and my husband said yes, you. Mind you, was place was not any where near overly busy or I could understand. You can tell a lot of them just don't want to work. Unfortunately, we will not be back.

I wish I could give 6 stars!!!!! We all ordered catfish. The start of the meal was the best ever hush puppies! I could have ate a whole meal just of those and I usually don't even like them normally. The catfish was AMAZING. Best batter- nice and crispy; the fish itself was sweet and juicy whole fish. No cardboard filets. Red rice was wonderful and I am trying to figure out what the secret ingredient in the coleslaw was. I loved it. The owner and staff were so sweet and friendly. Thant wait to come back to Santee while traveling so I can eat here again. read more

I could only eat 1 of 4 meatballs because I was just too hot to eat. And the women's bathroom was its own level of hell. Like a free sauna, except there's a toilet and a lingering eau de toilet of and it had to be at least 92 if not hotter in that tiny bathroom. I mean, they did have a small desk fan in there trying to help out, but look this isn't a 3rd world country without AC. If that tiny bathroom is that hot, I can't imagine how hot the kitchen is, and that can't be safe for the staff or for food safety. Management definitely needs to prioritize getting their AC up To snuff, ASAP.
