First time, i tried this place it was in January. I went right after my haircut literally around the corner from here and got here before they opened Someone at the counter saw me at the locked door reading the hours and walking away, and came outside to see if I needed help, explained that they're opening in a few moments and to please come back. When I did, I got two slices of plain NY style pizza right out of the oven fy the first pie of the day and was fairly surprised at how good it was, and was grateful for some hot food on a day where it was -10 and 6 feet of snow plow dunes were piled up everywhere from a recent snow storm. Came back today and ordered a personal pancetta e patate con olio tartufato pie, or pancetta, potato and truffle oil pie. The guy behind the counter was eating a slice of pizza and then turns around takes my order and immediately began to stretch dough for my pie without washing his hands, which is alarming. The fact that he had no idea what the heck I was asking for and had to read the menu multiple times in front of me to know what to make is bad enough. Watched this team in action and this same counter man runs into the back and grabs a potato, and without washing it, slices it up and tosses it into the fryer for my pizza...maybe their potatoes are washed and then held for later use? Maybe not. But it looks God awful and the team should be aware that everyone can see them and be on their best Cooks in the back leaning on counters, on their cell phones and then handling food without washing their hands?? Disgusting!! One guy from the kitchen comes up to the front through a door to get something, while talking on the phone, wearing gloves on his hands, takes a drink out of a cup and thrn walks back into the kitchen and goes back to cutting, never taking the gloves off, washing hands or putting the cell phone down. Sanitation here needs immediate attention, as well as menu training. The pie had no seasoning and it tasted like it. The crust was bland, the cheese was bland..the oil used wasn't truffle flavored or if it was, its so old that it lost its flavor And while I didn't see it get put on before going into the oven, I'm fairly sure that that the "pancetta" is not pancetta as it looks and tastes more like smoked American bacon. Being as hungry as I was having skipped my breakfast and having a light early dinner the night before, so I ate it, hoping for a good tasty meal. What I got was a greasy flavorless crust with cheese, fried potato slices that may or may not have been washed? And half raw bacon..... The only redeeming thing was that a second guy came up, rang me up and undercharged me for the meal. Either as an apology or a actual mistake I couldn't say but I paid about $3 or $4 less than it should have been. As they just opened, I assume I was the first customer of the day, but even the salt and pepper shakers on my table were dirty with food spatter on them. No one is paying attention to the details here. I am so disappointed as I really wanted this place to be good. The interior is rustic and modern at the same time, it's right near a good amount of other businesses. The menu looks appealing... This place should be a slam dunk! unfortunately it's a it's a fourth and 50 yards to go with two seconds left in the fourth quarter..... I won't be back...

I met my girlfriend here for dinner on a weeknight. It was apparent this was a pizza place loved by locals due to the friendly exchanges in between staff and customers. Trumbull pizza company offers extensive Italian menu items, not just pizza, at affordable pricing. There are no more than 8-10 tables inside, so seating is intimate. The cold rushing in by the opening and closing of the door was unavoidable. Limited wine/ beer options. We were seated immediately and food was served promptly. My friend ordered a separate pizza to go to bring home to her family, and our server offered to keep her pizza on the oven to keep it warm until we left, which I thought was a very nice offer!

Tried the Pizza Company for the 1st time during the Covid pandemic; ordered ahead online and arrived to find a completely packed parking lot. Business was booming, apparently. I suggest ordering online to save 10%, or you can also download the Slice app for easy ordering, too. Their grinders are worth a look if you get the eggplant or the chicken parmigiana. I also got a grilled chicken grinder but it was mostly bread, even though the toppings were fresh. Two thin cutlets, though. #Weak. Their breadsticks were an upcharge & came triangle shaped. Their meatballs are good enough but nothing to write home about. They had some gluten free desserts but maybe next time. One final note: They have their own house dressing for salads...which tastes phenomenal. Overall, I'd go back again.

One reason it took me so long to try AFFILIATION - I learned that this place is a second location for massiminos in Bridgeport which is a pretty Italian place in its own right ENTRANCE - as you come in you can see the main counter in the back. There are a few tables around if you want to sit and eat/drink coffee. AMBIANCE - it's a very clean and deli looking decor. DRY PRODUCTS - they have a small selection of Italian items from dried pasta to jarred sauces. Typical brands that you see in supermarkets or other Italian stores. There are a few imported from Italy brands but I'm no expert to say yea or nay PIZZA - they have at the counter a pizza station where you can a buy by the slice. They looked pretty good with a lot of variety. COFFEES - they have regular plus they make expresso, macchiatos, lattes etc. I tried the macchiato which was excellent PASTRY- they gave a few at the counter. The breakfast buns and treats. I noticed a crème pastry which I tried. It was OK but in reality the pastry part was super good but the inside crème would have been better if it was like a Boston cream filling SERVICE - definitely 5+ stars. The employees couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Very congenial with small talk. Not the usual cold QSR attitude you get from the fast food chains PRICES - I only got coffee and a pastry that was over $8. I'd say average or a little on the higher side but I didn't look at the menu on the screen too closely although it was a little difficult to see.

Kwok has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry. Some of the other restaurants he has opened include Sweet Basil in Fairfield, Pink Sumo Sushi & Sake Cafe in Westport, and Eat Noodle in Bridgeport. Kwok and Nguyen's latest venture opened at the Connecticut Post Mall in a restaurant space that was previously home to Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar, which specialized in tavern-style pizzas cooked in a cast-iron skillet. 8 Thousand Pizza offers this same style of pizza, but what sets them apart from the previous pizzeria is that they also offer self-pouring technology, which became legalized in Connecticut in 2021. The food menu features two dozen tavern-style pizzas as well as burgers, wings, fries, salads and soups. Through the use of a supplied electronic bracelet, customers can self-pour their own beverage from a selection of 28 craft beer taps and 6 wine taps. There's a two-pint or 32-ounce limit for the self-pours. I recently visited 8 Thousand Pizza for dinner. I had previously visited the space when it was Cast Iron Chef Kitchen & Bar and was sad to hear that they moved. However, this new business concept of a tavern-style pizzeria with self-pouring taps sounded very interesting to me. This was actually my first visit to a self-pouring taproom, as these types of establishments only just began opening in the state in the last few years. After looking over the menu, I decided to order the "Grandma's Tomato Pizza" (fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, roasted garlic, tomatoes and EVOO) and the "Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza" (tomato sauce, pepperoni, hot honey sauce and mozzarella cheese). The latter happens to be 8 Thousand's signature pizza. Both pizzas had crust so thin that it's almost cracker like; they didn't flop at all. They were super crispy with excellent sauce and toppings. I honestly can't decide which one I liked better; they were both very good. During my visit, I enjoyed some self-pours of Grey Sail Brewing's "Captain's Daughter" (Double New England IPA) and New Park Brewing's "Cloudscape" (American IPA). Delicious pizza with craft beer is always an excellent pairing! I had a really nice experience at 8 Thousand Pizza and I hope to return with my family.

If thin crust is your thing (like it's mine), you've gotta check this place out! It's primarily a delivery and takeout spot, so there are only a handful of seats inside, but if you do dine in it is BYOB so you can bring your bottle of wine or can of beer or hard seltzer and enjoy a hot fresh pizza right out of the oven! The fried mozz was good too, but I only tried it because I shared an order with others, it's not something I ever order on my own. If it's your thing, you'd enjoy it here but I want ALLLLL the pizzas! The Friday Shrimp Pie Specials, the Summer Pie (DON'T MISS THIS), tasted like some great New Haven style pizza with delicious sauce and thin crust and fresh high quality ingredients. I was in heaven! I actually went the first time with a group of friends and then insisted the hubby make this stop on our way home from NYC one weekend so he could try it, and I could have more of it! If I didn't live an hour away, this would be MY pizza spot! It's that good! The wings weren't bad, but this wouldn't be my go to wing spot. But everything else was phenomenal! When we were leaving the first time, a nice woman walking out behind us told us she goes there every week to pickup a grinder and that we should try those too! I think it was chicken parm she was talking about. The second time we went we saw two guys eating their pizza inside that were regulars and say they go there all the time too. So the locals know this is a great spot and I was so happy to see the support and the people willing to talk about how great they are and how they love supporting this small family owned business!

When I questioned it further, he said it depended on when the tickets were received, which didn't make much sense since they were seated after us.
