Mac and Cheese ( yummy)

I've ordered so many times from here ( via Uber eats) and I've never been dissatisfied. Big portions and the price is reasonable. My go tos are usually pernil with rice and beans. The pic below is of the Mac and cheese

We ordered food from here tonight for the family 6/27/2020 My son and daughter had porkchops with rice and beans me and my other daughter had the grilled snapper with plantains and macaroni salad ,my honey had the shrimp monfongo we all enjoyed our food my oldest daughter is special needs and she's a very picky eater but she couldn't let those pork chops go,they must have been good, those grilled snappers was full of bones I had to eat with caution but it was good,I didn't really care for the macaroni salad my honey enjoyed his shrimp monfongo,I would definitely order from here again..I love the fact that the lady at this restaurant called us to let us know what wasn't available and gave us other options, that was very nice of her we ordered through uber eats

Pernil Soul Food

I've never had such a diverse meal at such a low cost. I ordered the pernil soul food meal. I thought it would come with pernil and yellow rice, but it came with familiar sides I grew up with: greens, mac and cheese, candied yams and cornbread. It felt like an imitation of my family's Thanksgiving meal. Both the pernil and greens were flavorful, but overly salted. The mac and cheese tasted like baked Kraft mac and cheese but I still ate it. The cornbread was really dry--think that White Chicks baby powder joke. The candied yams were my favorite part of the meal, sweet with a nice texture.

As usual, when I go to visit schools, I have breakfast in a local eatery. This eat in/take out restaurant is awesome. You're greeted with love as soon as you step in the door. I do prefer fresh mushrooms, however the mushroom egg white omelette was devine. A generous portion of delicious home fries was added to my plate, as well as turkey bacon and toast. I will certainly revisit when I'm next in the area.

OMG!!!! Sooo good!! The soul Food dish!!! MUST TRY THIS PLACE! I ordered from Uber Eats!!

A cute store with a WHOLE lot of Flavor!

"This place is FABULOUS!!!!" Went with my best buddy to this place and once you walk into the door, the delicious aroma takes you breath away! In every pan that you look through the glass pane held wonderful food: the pernil, the yucca, the roasted chicken, the yellow rice and beans, the chicharones, and so much more...Feeling like l had so many choices, I knew I had to make a choice and make one real quick. The beans and rice was excellent and very well seasoned, the ribs were so juicy and tender...Meat falling right off the BONE! #YUMMY! I ordered a portion of chicharones, and they were Sooo DAMN GOOD AND CRUNCHY!!! Set my Tongue on FIRE! #TOTALLYLUVINTHEM! "Oh, by the way... Did I mention that they serve you some nice portions at a reasonable price?" I Paid $9.00 for my portions and I had enough left over for 2 Days! (They had different serving sizes that would meet your taste needs/belly fullness...Ha, ha!") So, If you are ever in Brooklyn, in the heart of Brownsville, and you have a taste for some good Dominican food that reminds you of home... Then this is the place to visit...Bring a friend, family, or even yourself and Enjoy Santo Domingo Restaurante, and let them put both a smile on your face as well as your Belly! #Enjoy!

If you really think about it the Dominican food has taken over the Bx. I searched, and found this place. The moment you step in you are greeted with the warmest blessings. The 2 beautiful people that worked there made our time there so memorable. The food was out of this world let me tell you. Also, I will say it is AFFORDABLE. portion size was huge and the place was so CLEAN. Food: Pernil: 10/10 flavorful and tender Yellow (arroz con gandules) and Black rice with the beans: 10/10 both were good and couldn't even decide which one was better Pulpo 9/10 : fresh and tangy, cut into small pieces so you can top it on your rice Alcapurrias: 8/10 great and made differently then what I'm used to but it was sooo good I'd come again for this alone Juices: Ask them to try the juices and they will let you. We tried it all. Came home with passion fruit (parcha) and guyaba (guanabana) Delicious 10/10 It was so fresh and they don't add too much ice so you get all the juice taste. All in all I'm coming here from now on. A true BX staple for the community and a true essence of the Bori pride resides here. If you miss PR, come here.

My favorite was the Chuletas Kan Kan special since the pork was crispy without being dry. They definitely make it fresh since I saw them picking out the piece of pork to cook once I had ordered it. Rice and beans are so flavorful. Soup and Cubano tasted great too. It's a small and popular restaurant, so they typically will ask you to wait outside until a table is ready. We came around 2pm on a holiday and had to wait 20-25 minutes in the cold, but it was well worth it. Servers are super nice and accommodating. Cash only!

We paid about $60 for takeout, which included two servings of rice, two servings of beans, chicken, two bistecs, and tostones. Considering the portions were fairly small, I didn't feel the price matched the amount of food we received. As a Puerto Rican who cooks these dishes regularly, I know I can prepare the same meal at home for a fraction of the cost. The only reason we ordered takeout was because I wasn't feeling well enough to cook that day. While the food tasted good, the value just wasn't there for me. Unfortunately, because of the pricing, I don't see myself going back there again.

The colorful décor, music, and overall ambiance create a warm and inviting experience. The food was delicious. Every dish was full of flavor, and you can tell everything was made with care. The pork was incredibly tender. Even the rice and beans, which can sometimes be overlooked, were flavorful and delicious. The fish was perfectly seasoned, allowing the natural flavors to shine without being too salty or overpowering. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and well-balanced. If you're looking for delicious Caribbean food in a welcoming atmosphere, this place is definitely worth a visit. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

You could tell it was authentic, and every dish was full of flavor. I wasn't the only one who thought so either. A lot of the guests were talking about how good the food was throughout the night. The service was also excellent. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Another big plus is that they have parking, which made it really convenient. From the outside, the restaurant looks pretty small, but once you walk in it's surprisingly spacious. The décor is beautiful and creates a really nice atmosphere. I'd definitely come back!

Even though I arrived an hour late for my reservation, the hostess graciously found a way to seat us. They don't serve alcohol, but there's a liquor store around the corner, and with a $20 corkage fee, our bottle of sangria paired perfectly with dinner. The space is nostalgic, modern, and incredibly welcoming. Hearing La India playing while we enjoyed bacalaitos and pastelillos was the perfect touch. Our entrées: pastelón, blackened salmon, and La Gallina were all outstanding. The birthday celebration was unforgettable, with singing, maracas, and music, followed by delicious bread pudding and tres leches cake. Chef Francis even stopped by our table! My friend realized she had missed the blood sausage on the menu, and they surprised her with a complimentary order to take home. That thoughtful gesture perfectly captured the warmth and hospitality of Cocotazo. The standout dishes for me were the bacalaito and the pastelón, both are must-orders. I also recommend making a reservation in advance on Resy. If you're driving, street parking can be tough, but there's a convenient parking lot just one block away at 409 E. 110th St.

The food was okay, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The arroz con gandules was on the dry side, and the meat could have used more seasoning, particularly salt, to bring out the flavor. Overall, it wasn't a bad meal, but it wasn't memorable enough for me to make the trip again. While I'd like to believe this was an off day, based on this experience I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return. Super excited to try the food but did not meet expectations. Restaurant itself is small and cute. Sounds of coqui in the bathroom.
