Love the it great food every thing about it I wish I had some pix of everything is amazing

Hi All, I have been going there on and off with my family for a good few years now. Good basic Italian menu. Recently I went ahead and ordered for myself online for a pickup. I then received a verification email with the total price. My surprise was that the price I paid cash at the restaurant was more than what was stated in the email. I discussed it with the owner and he mentioned that the price of the item was incorrect online and that it was his fault that he had not updated it. However, no chance at correcting the error that he made. So, my advice at this time is to avoid ordering online, if you can, and to call in the order instead. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth unfortunately. read more

I have been here quite a bit so I am super surprised I didn't write a review. I was in Ridgewood for 3 weeks and went here quite a few times. The meals were always tasty and very reasonably priced. What is also great is that there is a lot of space and we tend to go on off days and times so it is very comfortable to relax, stay a while, and connect. read more

Had a great experience ding at Puzzo's on Saturday nite! For appetizers we ordered mussels which had a lot of sauce which was very tasty. Also had the bruschetta which had the perfect amount of garlic that hit the spot! For entrees my wife had the cauliflower pizza as she is celiac. She said it was one of the best gluten free pizzas she's eaten. I ordered the Chicken Valentino which was a huge portion and tasted great!!! Also the service was we exceptional!!! Will definitely be going back and bringing some friends next time!!!! read more

I ordered for lunch, entering my work address as 304. I get a voicemail from NASTY DELIVERY MAN, saying he left it on the porch and for me to go and find it. I called the restaurant come to find out the NASTY DELIVERY GRUMPY MAN says he left it at 304A and when ordering we need to specify. Clearly the address difference was a letter so why leave it at 304A?!?! As he's was walking out, he yells I'm not going to be walking all over god creative land to find you! REALLY?!?!? My first and last time Ordering and I will tell my co workers the experience I had and hopefully we will find a better place to order from and boycott this place! Thanks but no thanks! read more

Puzos has the Best Italian Food and for a great value ! I order take out regularly from Puzos and it is always good. We usually get the eggplant and it's never bitter like so many places are. All their food is freshly prepared never premade and you can tell the difference. The chef is very accommodating to any diet restrictions. The sauce is just tangy enough but not spicy like so many places are. The bread they serve is absolutely delicious and totally worth every carb and calorie! It my favorite bread from any restaurant anywhere. read more

I came here for my birthday dinner a handful of months ago. I got the vodka pizza and it really wasn't that great. I also tried the chicken parm. The flavors were missing from both dishes. I wanted to enjoy this place but I feel like they forgot to add spices? Both dishes were bland. The crust of the pizza was off too. One of the more depressing pizzas we've had since moving to jersey. Puzo's slices are small and soggy and the toppings itself are just good enough to eat when one is hungry. Place is also dingy and dirty looking. So many better options in town. read more

Puzo's is a family friendly Italian restaurant that truly cares for its customers. The staff is attentive and warm, even when it's busy. The food comes out hot, fresh and in large portions. I started off with garlic bread topped with melted mozzarella. It was delicious and did not have an overwhelming (or artificial) garlic taste. My entree was the gnocchi in meat sauce with sausage. The gnocchi was extremely chewy to the point where I didn't want to finish it. The sausage was flavorful, and they didn't skimp on the amount. The meat sauce was bland, and I ended up using a lot of parm which didn't help. Although my food wasn't so amazing, other entrees looked great, which makes me want to come back. Let me tell you, Puzo's Family Restaurant is a gem and you need to try it. With all the fancy schmancy places in Ridgewood, this is a spot where you can lay back and grab a good slice or have a really good homemade Italian meal. This is the real deal. Prices are very fair and free parking on that side of town. Puzo's a family staple and everyone should go down and enjoy a great atmosphere. 1 Aug 2024. Not recommended. There was a mouse dropping in the ledge right next to our table. I don't know why but I tried the food, very bad. Mussels were too salty, shrimp scampi was too bland and the shrimp were boiled too long and so was the eggplant parmigiana. Hard to explain to them in English why I didn't leave a tip. read more

Puzo's gotta be my new favorite grandma pie location of Bergen county. The pie's dough is slightly chewy will pleasing textures. The sauce is of crushed tomatoes that tastes fresher than its competitors. The biggest differentiator of their pie is the amount of seasoning they give. Between the dried herbs, basil, and parmesan, there's no lack of flavor in Puzo's grandma pie. Highly recommended. read more

Pizza is simple, delicious and reasonably priced. This town is where fancy pizza places come to flounder and die. There are no artisanal ingredients, no handcrafting touted on the menu, and nothing sourced from the tits of a 3 legged goat living in a remote Italian village. This is the place to supply your weekly pizza night. They have a delicious house vinaigrette for their salads and my family has no idea how delicious their garlic knots are, which never seem to make it home. Sorry, but I always However, I have never been impressed with their entrees. The sauce on the pizza is good, but their entrees always have tinny tomato sauce and a lot of them taste frozen. Most restaurants freeze prepped ingredients, but they finish off their dishes well... Authentic, unassuming, our favorite place for more than twenty years; same family has owned and operated it, the owners are right there all the time, friendly, kind, heartwarming. Always simple, seemingly effortless - but invariably fresh food seems to have become even better over the years. Eggplant parmigiana is my favorite, I also like to ask if they have any ready slice of pizza they could recommend, because some of their vegetable choices turned out to be masterpieces. I always get their Greek salad - can't get enough of it - yet it is just roughly chopped very simple salad, I guess it is just always fresh and I am probably addicted to their salad dressing. What an awful experience. I have known Mario for over 18 years. I'm a neighboring business. His restaurant has benefitted weekly from my staff and I ordering lunch from his restaurant. I asked him if I could have my daughter's friends to him for some pizza. I brought the ice cream cake, which he put in the fridge so it was half melted. I brought the cake cutter. We asked him to have the pizzas ready for 6pm for 13 girls. They didn't get served until 6:30. The kids were hungry. There was no water poured or utensils on the table. My husband and I distributed napkins, utensils from the waitress station. My husband and I had to run back and forth to the counter to ask to fill the water pitchers. They were only giving two at a time. It was difficult to say the least. We were not assigned a waitress which meant I had to constantly run back and forth for napkins and whatever else we needed as well. I had called for this reservation a couple weeks ago. When I called to confirm today, he said "oh that's tonight" he didn't even remember. I cleaned the area once the kids left, wiped down tables, stacked the plates, collected the garbage, returned condiments to the waitress station, checked floors for waste/napkins etc and put it all in one table for ease of cleaning by his staff. Again, I felt like I was family to him almost for all the years I've been ordering from him. So when I received the bill you can imagine how shocking it was to see $44 in pizza but $75 for a dining room fee. He never mentioned this fee to me, and of course I certainly wasn't going to not leave an incredibly generous tip for all the dishes that were left behind for his kitchen staff to clean. I asked him about it and he said "what do you expect, for me not to charge for the service?" I said, "I'm sorry, what service? I did it all and also cleaned. I was certainly planning on taking care of everyone here. After how long we've known each other, why would you think differently?" He couldn't even look at me. I asked him again, "is this fee staying? You never mentioned it to me and I cleaned and did everything. " He again, didn't look at me and kept making a pizza. So I will address you here Mario, when my family is in from Italy, I bring them to your restaurant. When I hire new staff I tell them to support your restaurant. When I asked if I could have my daughter's friends for some pizza I didn't expect to be ripped off by you, as I considered you my friend. No one was turned away because we took up half your dining room. Had I known I could have made the decision not to pay $150 for 8 years old to eat some pizza where I picked up after them and scrubbed your tables clean before leaving. SHAME ON YOU MARIO. I'm deeply offended and shocked at your poor business acumen and in addition how poorly you treated me after the tens of thousands of dollars I've spent at your restaurant since 2005. I will never be in your restaurant again. I paid the bill in full in cash for anyone reading this an wondering how it ended clearly that $75 was needed more by him than me. read more

Overall I was pleased with what I got for my money here. The lunch specials are some of the most reasonably priced items in the county. I also added an everyday garden salad with grilled chicken which was quite good. The chicken francese could stand to have a little more flavor but overall it was decent. I will be back to try the other lunch specials based on the prices alone! read more

I'm giving Puzo's Family Restaurant 5 stars, and i'll tell you why. At first glance you walk in and it looks like a typically pizzeria/sit down restaurant. You can see them all in the back working so hard making the pizza and all the other items on the menu. What I absolutely loved-they were speaking Italian! How much closer to authentic can you actually get!? Anyway, decided to eat in and I ordered Chicken Francese with angel hair pasta - my go to dish. They put delicious bread on the table while you wait for your entrees. Bread was so warm! Now to the even better part, the entree! The Chicken Francese and the angel hair pasta were probably the most delicious I have ever eaten. 5 star restaurants cannot even compare! The francese sauce had the perfect taste of lemon, not too much or too little. It was the perfect consistency as well. The pasta was great. I wasn't expecting the minor spice of pepper they lightly sprinkle over it. It was absolutely amazing. I can't express enough how good this meal was. Prices are definitely fair for the amount/quality of the food you are ordering. Also, free parking right on the side street so that's also a plus if you want to stray away from the center of town. I hope Puzo's is around for a long time because I plan on coming back here many MANY times! read more

My family loves Puzo's food - pizza and catering is always delicious! Sadly, when we picked up food last night there were 3 staff members observed not wearing masks. When I inquired about their protocols a staff member told me I shouldn't worry because they've had no outbreaks at the restaurant. There was no reasonable explanation for the lack of masks and no conversation about how the staff can improve safety protocols based on my feedback. This is the second time this has happened here for my family and unfortunately we will have to wait until after Covid to continue ordering their yummy food. read more

We are regulars for delivery as we live in the neighborhood. Friendly employees and delivery guys. We enjoy the Chicken Parmesan with Linguini, Personal Pizzas, Side of Meatballs and Greek Salad. Hey I'm from New York City. I'm sitting here eating a Puzo's eggplant parmesan and a dish of ziti ($8.99) and wondering where the hell these reviews are coming from. I have ordered from this place before. Last time I had the fried eggplant pizza. (yes I like eggplant) It's as authentic home-style italian food as you can ask for. When I was growing up in Queens I used to go to an italian restaurant my friend's mom opened when she came from Italy. They had the best Italian food in America hands down. I think Puzo is just as good. Keep up the good work. I like the atmosphere there. Definitely not olive garden nonsense. We had: Ham, Ricotta and Mozzarella Calzone Stuffed Mushrooms Eggplant Rollatini Pizza - I cant remember if it was the "all meat" pizza but it certainly had a lot of meat on it! I have been going to Puzo's for 9 years and their food is outstanding. They pride themselves on the traditional home cooked Italian meal and every dish is amazing. They will also let you have a party there and close off the first half to make it private for you. I have had several parties there and highly recommend as they are very accommodating and will go out of their way to make sure all your needs are met. Puzo's is a very generic family style Italian joint. Much of their business is derived from their take out service. They do have indoor seating as well but it's not really the kind of place one goes to sit down and eat IMO. Everything here is okay, not great. Especially the salads which leave a lot to be desired IMO. Having grown up in Ridgewood for much of my life I can easily recommend Turvino's in Glen Rock over Puzo's. read more

I absolutely love the atmosphere of this restaurant. All the servers and employees are super nice and knowledgeable and know how to make you feel welcomed in their restaurant. The food is a 12/10. The chef is great at what he does and the menu is so hard to choose only one item from for it does have a lot of mouth watering descriptions. This place is an italian restaurant but is not limited to the thought of pizza and pasta. The menu varies from pizza to seafood to sandwiches (hot and cold) and wraps. Just ate at Puzo's for the first time and was not impressed at all. My husband and I shared the mozzarella and tomato salad it was boring and bland. My ceaser salad had no taste at all, I asked if it came with anchovies the waitress said no but they can put some on. Little did I know that would cost us $3.00 extra. I feel thats a little extreme. I hadn't been to Puzo's in a couple of years because the food quality and service were going downhill. I tried them again this past weekend in hopes that they improved - no such luck. We ordered 3 pasta take out meals. 1) - Lasagna was incredibly greasy and mushy which made it inedible. 2) - Gnocchi was soft and drowning in sauce. 3) stuffed shells - the worst of the 3. tasted like it was straight out of the Stop and Shop freezer. No taste & awful texture. All this for $50 - - and for each meal they included 1 tiny roll 4 inches long. Needless to say we won't be going back. read more

Very good place to eat. Small place so you get the cozy feeling. I ordered the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. I know that spelling is not correct. Very good good & the desert was on point. This is our go to pizza place. We have tried a few spots in the area but we always go back to Puzo's. I do always get eggplant on my pizza which isn't offered at most places, and this is the main reason we are fans, but the pizza is also really good! Make sure you ask what is in it before you get it. I ordered penne vodka and it came with bacon. I do not eat red meat. When I called I was told people who already order from there are aware there is bacon, even though it is not stated on their menu. I was disappointed by the poor customer service and confused as to why they would not be more polite to new customers. Not worth $17 read more
