The best comfort food! We love Sapos Tacos and all their creations. The tacos are of course amazing with the most mouth watering Birria sauce. I also love the grilled cheese and elote my hubby loves the Birria ramen. you really can't go wrong all the food is delicious. They are at tons of events and worth checking them out.

I love Sapos Tacos but the info on Yelp is way out of date. There's no regular hours or location.

Be sure to check this place out! One of the best tacos to come out of San Diego! Can't go wrong with anything in the menu

Two items we had not yet tried in our many visits to Roberto's. We sat at the little bar and each had a pint of Pacifico while we waited for our to-go order to be prepared. The quesadilla was a large flour tortilla stuffed with shrimp, Pico and melted cheese. It was cut into four large pieces. The shrimp were plump and perfectly grilled. The cheese was melty with that great cheese pull, and I really liked the addition of the Pico. The portion size was generous for the price. I got two meals out of it. The carne asada bowl was huge. It fed Becky four times. It was packed with flavors. There was a lot going on in the bowl. Generous helpings of carne asada, beans, rice, Pico, and guacamole. I was pleased to see it served in a tin rather than Styrofoam as my quesadilla was. That's really my only complaint about Roberto's, the use of Styrofoam. It is just not conducive to hot foods.

Staff was very friendly so I figured I was just picking up but definitely could not have eaten inside. Ordered for family of 4 and took it home. I had the carne asada burrito and had to spit multiple pieces of meat out because I couldn't chew them. Family said their meal was not great. Probably will not go back because there are so many better choices in Santee. Really was hoping this place was good because it's close to home.

Chilorio is slow-simmered pork, shredded, fried in lard, and simmered in a sauce of chilis and spices. I've not found this dish anywhere north of the border and couldn't wait. I wasn't dissapointed. The chilorio was savory with deep flavors of chilis and spices. It's available as an omlette, but also as a side on its own, served in pan with a warm stack of very good corn or flour tortillas (or a mix of the two). In addition, we tried their birria de chivo (goat stew), also made in the Sinaloan tradition, with different chilis than the original Jalisco version and very cumin/cinnamon forward. Totally delicious. And totally affordable, at inexpensive-moderate menu pricing. The spot is charming, welcoming on the outside, tidy and clean on the inside, and run by a friendly family--who are happy to educate guests on their very special menu. I'd consider this a destination restaurant. Worth the trip from anywhere in San Diego County.
