Decent lunch special - available until 5 which is nice. Had the lunch special: $7.95 for 2 maki rolls with salad or soup. I selected the Crunchy Spicy Tuna and Spider rolls with the ginger salad. Admittedly I do have a bit of a head cold right now, but that said, it does not fully accounts for how BLAND the food tasted. They have the freshest fish and the most delicious flavors, they really get it right here. 5 stars for food. the Age Tofu is a wonderful appetizer, the sushi is fresh and delicious, and the miso soup, too, is no throw away either, its very tasty. 3 stars for decor- typical to any small sushi place in BK but a renovation would make this place a knock-out 5 stars again for the prices. could you ask for more than a 2 roll lunch special for 7.50 with miso soup or a salad? their roll prices are fantastically low, and the quality you get for your money is a real bargain. 4 stars for service, friendly, efficient. i just dont like when there is a card minimum, but other than that very nice. overall, 4 and a half stars. love love love this place. I usually get delivery from Sapporo Haru, but I have eaten here as well. The sushi is good, and is reasonably priced. Everyone talks about the free sake, but when you get delivery you can choose California rolls instead. Everything is very good here, but I highly recommend the crunchy fried tempura rolls. Sapporo Haru has been my favorite sushi spot in the neighborhood basically since it opened. The fish is always fresh and tasty and no matter what I order I always leave a very happy customer. Their menu has grown over the years, but I have found that even if you order off menu with a special request they will accommodate as best they can. My husband and I eat here once a week (either in the restaurant or delivery) First of all - The delivery is great and very necessary for this neighborhood. They are fast, and in general the food is very good, the delivery portions are huge, plus you usually get a bunch of extras (I really enjoy getting a free large hot sake), and they are open until 11 or 11:30 on friday and saturday (good for us late-nighters). For delivery I like the Yasai Gyoza, and the Nabe-Yake Udon. And they take credit cards over the phone. The actual restaurant is very good. The decor is nothing special, but the food is delicious. I LOVE the Yosenabe - a large hot pot of soup with fish, chicken, shrimp, bean curd, and vegetables. It's really incredible. Husband loves the blackened salmon (do not order delivered, though). The sushi and sashimi is very nice as well. It always seems fresh, and they have a large selection. This place really has it all! It's almost unbelievable that you would want to go anywhere else for sushi. I will start by saying that you get UNLIMITED sake, providing you spend at least 10 bucks. Awesome. 10 bucks is the perfect amount to spend too. Two rolls and a bowl of miso soup, my favorite combo. That adds up to exactly 10 dollars. Commence steaming hot sake consumption! First I'll start with the miso soup. It's always piping hot, and they give you a good amount for $1.50. There's always a good amount of tofu, wakame and scallions, and the broth is very flavorful. The rolls come out in about 10 minutes, and you can see the chefs making them if you sit in the front room. The fish is always deliciously fresh, never any brown gooey salmon or anything like that. The spicy tuna roll has the perfect amount of punch, and even something as bare-boned as an asparagus roll is still delicious. My friends often get the Maki combo 17, and they are always more than satisfied. The staff is generally very nice, and they pay good attention to you in terms of keeping your water filled and making sure you're enjoying your meal. During a typical meal here, and depending on how many people you're with (I usually come here with 2 or 3 others), you can enjoy plenty of unlimited sake. We usually end up getting 3 or 4 refills. They're pretty smart about politely cutting you off if you're drinking too much of the stuff, but never rude about it. Overall, this place is great. It's only drawback, not that it can help it much, is its location. We all know the G is a pain in the ass, but at least it's right outside the Nassau Ave. station. This place is a weekly go-to for my boyfriend and I. We typically stroll in anywhere between 7:30pm and 9:30pm, and there is always a table readily available. The waitresses are super diligent and quick - they take your order, bring you the goods, and refill your saki bottle as needed. The fish is consistently fresh and hot orders come out hot. I've had everything from the sashimi combo to their specialty rolls here, and I have never once left the establishment regretting what I'd eaten. One of the best sushi places I've been too so far, and just a 5 minute walk from my apartment. They have an awesome Chef Special menu with a wide variety of delicious rolls which can be a little on the pricey side, but completely worth it. The maki combo is great for the budget conscious, and hey, free sake when your tab is over $10. Can't really beat that. Service is great as well, fast and efficient. Quality was above average. Now that ive moved into the area. I decided to try dinner. I love the free sake if you purchase more than $10. Since I only eat sushi (usually 2-3 special rolls) this pre-req is easy to qualify for. They even gave me a refill when my sake was halfway empty. Sushi was solid and can't wait to try them all. The service is just right. Waiters don't pester you and they pass by enough so you can flag them down. Overall I think I found my go-to place for sushi dinners in the area. Portions are huge, prices are reasonable, and you get free hot sale with an average order of $10 per person. What's not to like! The sushi here is good for the price and you'll leave full and satisfied. I've been coming here with friends for years and we would always get the Sushi Love Boat for four. It used to be $75 and a great deal but now they've raised the price to $90. While still a good deal, we can all usually get our own things and it comes out to about the same price. For instance there were three of us and the Sushi and Sashimi combo for one is $26 and I probably got the same amount of fish variety but probably got an extra piece of each than I would have gotten had we split the boat. I got the spicy salmon roll and a sweet potato roll and my goodness were they both yummy. I was pleasantly surprised to find crunchy sweet potato slices on top of my sweet potato roll. The salmon was on point too it was all so good I swear I inhaled my roll. I am gonna go back here asap, cause I've been craving sushi literally everyday. I've been living in Williamsburg/Greenpoint for about four years and after eating at most of the places around here, my favorite sushi for the past two years has been at the place on Berry & N. 6th (not Sea, but I cant remember the name). My buddy JB kept saying Sapporo Haru was better. After about a year I finally checked it out and he was right; I agree that it is the best sushi in the Williamsburg/Greenpoint area, even better than the place on Berry & N. 6th. It isn't the cheapest sushi in the world, but the portions are big, the service is good, and it is simply the best tasting sushi I think I've ever had. My favorite server is a funny older lady that sometimes brings you free sake once you finish the first one. I don't know if the other reviewer has eaten there just once or not, but I know that I have eaten there several times and I've never had a less than totally satisfied experience. read more

DELIVERY SERVICE BLOWS! Usually I would give this place 4 stars, however, as I want to order in right now, I am remembering what a rude delivery boy this Sapporo had earlier this year. I ordered on delivery.com which informs the customer that Sapporo Haru charges $4 for the delivery itself. I ordered $28 worth of food and tried to just give him $1 and that would be about a 17% tip. He then proceeds to scoffed at that tip and I asked about the $4. He informed me it was only $3. Etiquette books suggest a 10% tip for deliveries. And a $4 tip instead of a $5 still would be well above 10%. I ended up giving him over 20% because I am a pansy and he told me, "thanks it's really far away". SERIOUSLY? NOTE: this boy was a hipster that defiantly hasn't lost his white privilege. read more

I read they give free hot sake with your meal, but this was not advertised anywhere that I saw in the menu/restaurant. I asked for the sake and it is indeed free and unlimited with your meal. Sushi and sashimi was excellent and fresh. They do bring your food very quickly but I never felt rushed to finish. Prices were extremely fair considering the location/quality.
