The bottom line: I've had sushi from San Francisco to San Diego and in terms of quality for AYCE, this has been the best I've ever experienced, period. Overall, the quality of the fish is amazing considering the price of how various sushi restaurants are. I've been here about 5-6 times over the last 3 years and it's been worth it EVERY time. If you have a big appetite, go with the All You Can Eat (AYCE). It's now $35.99 and still very much worth it, it ends up being a great value if you go with a group. Pro Tip #1: If you're trying to maximize fish intake, avoid taking in too much water and also getting a lot of rolls, focus on Nigiri (2 pieces of raw fish served on rice). The other major perk is that you do get Toro (Fatty Tuna) with your experience as well as a few other premium types of fish. The other silent hero of the fish they have is the seared Escolar - they prep it so well here and it's packed with flavor. Pro Tip #2: If you're trying to avoid a crowd, go right at opening right before the dinner rush say around 4:30 pm - it's a packed house for sure. I'm not sure why this place had horrible reviews. I've been on a roll trying out places without reading reviews. So I still need to check in on why this place got a low rating. Upon walking in, we were greeted and sat quickly. They have tons of rolls that all looked good. However, because my bf and I have had horrible AYCE sushi within town, we decided to do a la cart! Must I say, all three rolls were amazing. I didn't take a pic of my Fuji roll but it was delicious. If you like baked rolls, get that! It's baked salmon on top of a rolled baked cali roll. As for the one on the left of my photo (I forgot the name), this was by far the best roll to me. It was my favorite. It was scrumptious. My boyfriend and I said we'd order two of those next time. It was citrusy and refreshing. The sauce that came with it, was beyond your basic ponzu sauces! As for the third roll, 3 amigos was tangy and a slight chili kick. It was good. Although, the other roll was the best. The place is very small. I did notice on the weekends they are busy and can be on a wait. We went around 1pm and got seated immediately. Food came out less than 15 minutes. The server was very attentive and sweet. Will we go back? Absolutely! Will we do AYCE next time? We, a group of 4, came into Sapporo on 1/28/23. Was on the wait list. She asked our party to move either outside or in our car, reminding us that they will text us. Stating that there are customers at the bar area and they need their space. We are also customers! We unfortunately decided to stay. We were celebrating 2 birthdays and 2 friends that hadn't been around for quite some time. The service was HORRIBLE. The manager gave us attitude. Never looked at me as I complained. We were seated about 7:30 and didn't leave until shortly after 9:30. The manager came by 2 times in that time period. I ordered a combination plate and never touched the entree. By the time the manager dropped of the check; I complained to her that the service was bad and I never touched my food. She explained that she came by 2 times - in a period of 2 hours!! She took the plate and you can hear her throw the plate in a container as it was extremely loud. The manager also was staring at our table and talking to one of the waitress about what had just happened. We had 3 hot teas , water and ice tea. No one came by and refilled any of the drinks. Several servers came by multiple tables looking for the bills to be paid as they were getting ready to close. Not one person came by to ask or check if we were ready to pay our bill. A one star is far more reasonable than the service we received. The food and service at the Menifee site is usually great but not tonight. It wasn't an off night. It was an issue with the manager. This has been far more than a disappointing night. Extremely unprofessional, EXTREMELY HORRIFIC attitude from a manger which a definite reflection of the wait staff. read more

For dine in on patio on May 8th. I had to write a review even though it has been a week since our 3 family members were there because the efforts this restaurant took to sanitize after each customer really impressed my husband and me. We had dropped off our older daughter at a small gathering and needed a place to hang out for a few hours as it is almost a 2 hour commute from our home. We had decided on getting a late lunch and I had looked up a few places in Menifee especially ones with an outdoor dining area. This was our first time in a long time dining out. We settled on Sapporo Sushi because it was close to the location of daughter's event. We entered and requested outdoor seating and were shown to a table on the patio right away. I observed that even though there were closed windows air was able to circulate above and below. The menu for rolls was quite extensive and it took a while for me to decide what to order as I only eat cooked sushi. Younger daughter had noticed a sign for a Katsu special. Husband was interested in a bento box. As it was our first time visiting, we had to ask our server questions to clarify what we could order when it came to lunch specials. She was able to recommend a cooked roll to us in the Philly Cheese Steak Roll and we went with her recommendation. We also went with the popular Spider roll and found 2 more cooked rolls: the 911 Special Roll and the Fuji. Husband ordered a bento box with spicy pork and salmon rolls. We also ordered or we thought we did a pork katsu. We kept our face masks on while ordering, waiting for our food, and after we finished eating. Our servers wore face masks, also. It turned out that we enjoyed the 911 Special Roll the most which is deep fried. The second roll we liked next was the Philly Cheese Steak with rib eye meat, mushrooms, and mozzarella cheese. You don't find this roll that often in a sushi restaurant. The Fuji is a baked salmon roll which we often get in sushi restaurants. It seemed a little more mushy. The spider roll was good but nothing special. The bento box did not come out immediately, but presentation was excellent. There was plenty of food so the pork katsu curry that we thought we had ordered not appearing was fine. After eating while we waited for the bill, husband pointed out to me that the staff members thoroughly sanitized the table and menus after customers leave before next customers are seated. We enjoyed our first time dining out in a while. The patio wasn't too crowded, but that could have been because we were having a late lunch at almost 3 p.m. We're glad that we gave Sapporo Sushi a try. read more

I've been seeing 50/50 reviews on this place, so I wasn't sure whether to try it. I didn't get to try the AYCE, but I got lunch to-go. The -1 star is because on Yelp it says it opens at 11am. I called at 11am to phone an order. A girl picked up in an annoyed tone to say to call at 1140 because that's when it actually opens. Then hung up?? They should update their hours if that is the case. I got the 3-4 lunch rolls, that also came with a salad. It was a big size, and actually really good. Well, the sauce that came for the salad was kinda spicy. Maybe the only downside. My bf got the tempura bento. It was actually really big, and boxed nicely. Usual tempura/veggies, gyoza, salad, and miso soup. He enjoyed it, and for its price it was a lot. Compare to a sushi boat take out bento, it was fulfilling. I'd get lunch there again. Went there last night for an order. Which I go every now and then. But last night's food i ordered was horrible. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bowls the rice was cold , the veggies were half cold and hot, the chicken was the worst. Wet chicken covered in teriyaki sauce. , two. No ginger no wasabi.
