Besides thos location being inconvenient, the staff was unsure of how to handle our transferred membership. The manager ended up modifying our plan in the system to "make it work". After our contract term expired, and getting used to tge beds at that location, we decided to renew for another year. We have always paid in full for a year. The manager refused to take an all cash, paid in full account. She insisted on is paying monthly. One would think a company would gladly accept a lump some cash payment. After reluctantly agreeing to be billed monthly, the nightmare began. Every month we experienced a problem with billing and our credit card company. The manager would correct the issue and issue a credit for their error. Suddenly, that manager was transferred to a different location. The new manager ended up suspending our account due to a billing issue. Upon review, she said the previous manager was charging us incorrectly, despite us having a contract for the amount we were being charged. She said she spoke with the District Manager (who is the franchise owner) who was adamant about not living up to the valid contract and price we had. This ended up being a horrible experience and we would NEVER recommend this company to anyone!

But on May 1, my card got charged again. I didn't notice the charge until the end of the month of May and once again, it had passed the cutoff date so it was too late to cancel in May and on June 1st they charged my card again. I have called them three times and gone into the store once and I cannot get the manager to call me back to help me with a refund. I've also sent an email to their corporate headquarters with no response. This is terrible customer service so beware!

I can confirm that they have a new team in the salon and they are AWESOME! I had a very specific situation when I went in. They were not rude or impatient once. I have been an avid Spray tanner for the last couple years, but I was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease. Therefore, I was nervous about spray tanning because certain solutions do have gluten or wheat based ingredients in them. I just wanted to have a tan for Portland Pride festival, which was about a week away. So I looked into indoor tanning. When I did my research and decided upon Tan Republic, I went in my first time at around 8:30pm (they close at 9pm). I called ahead of time and they let me know I just had to be in the bed by 8:45. When I got there, Carrie was so sweet! I explained to her my very unique situation, and she ran through all the options with me and was able to set me up with a perfect package for what I needed. She didn't try to overly push me to buy anything and answered all of my questions! She also gave me the right advice and recommendation for my skin type - as I am VERY pale! I came back Monday (June 10) and the guy working that day who set everything up for me was just as nice! (I don't remember his name, but he was great!) Then I went back for my third session and I met Monica! I explained to her that I didn't feel like I was getting tan enough, so I wanted to go up on time and try a different lotion. She was so sweet and patient with me as I looked at a bunch of the ingredient lists on the bottles to find a good gluten free one. I also happened to have a friend with me and she helped my friend find another salon close to her house and gave her advice too! Unfortunately, I have to take a little break from tanning all together soon. However, I will return to Tan Republic when I am ready for an awesome tan! She was VERY upset that I use them more than one time (they are stickers) - snapped at me that they're "DISPOSABLE!" and informed me about notating my account to make sure everyone knows to "never let me get away with this again," I told her I thought the interaction was a little uncomfortable and that I already agreed to buy the $1 winkies, again.... she then did not reverse my tan so that I couldn't tan that day elsewhere, which I'm a little concerned was intentional. Thankfully, I was still helped at the next location where I had a lovely experience. I've heard this might be "typical." Tigard is typically my home location. I've been feeling uncomfortable that I may run into her again.
