The food here is really good. The carne asada fries are HUGE! And have a good amount of actual carne asada on them. I have never had a long wait time, usually done by the time I drive over. I live a block from Alberts taco shop, but we were being customers of Sarais for a long time. Before I decided to write this review, I tried to give them a chance to make it right. They used to have the bean and cheese burritos in East county. On 7/8 I had a really bad order, and was told that the owner refused to do a full refund. I don't know if was the actually owner of the manager that declined to do a refund for three bean and cheese burritos. Due to being way to salty (NOT EATABLE) they asked me to bring them back after the day I made the call. I mean who saves bad food. They told me they can only do the refund for one burrito instead of three. Oh well, good luck to the. We will not coming back, my family, employees and coworkers. Purchased 4 breakfast burritos yesterday morning (9/12/15) while on our way out of town. About an hour later when we got to eat them, both mine & my husband's burritos had chunks of black plastic in them. My husband called Sarai's to let them know about the plastic and was asked to bring the burritos back. He explained that we were on our way out of town and was put on hold. The woman came back on the line and told him that the plastic was from the tortilla bag, save his receipt, and Sarai's would comp him 2 burritos the next time he went in. This morning (9/13/15), my husband went in and was asked where the burritos were because they wanted proof, then said they needed to find out what the plastic was. We did not have the burritos because after being told we didn't need them, we threw them away in our friends' garbage (who luckily didn't have black plastic in their burritos). When my husband pointed out what he was told yesterday, the same woman he spoke to on the phone told him that the cooks didn't believe him, hence the reason she was having to give him the run around. My husband ended up leaving without the compensation of burritos or a refund. I understand that things happen in food preparation and am not even upset about finding plastic in my food. The disappointing part is how Sarai's decided to go back on their word and refused to make it right. Another questioning issue is Sarai's has a "BBB A Accredited" sign in their door yet when I went to the BBB's website to file a complaint, Sarai's did not show up in the search and I had to fill out all the business information. read more

This place is horrible. Very over priced and the cashier won't even answer simple questions. She didn't even bother to notify us that there was a $0.75 charge to use our card. When I asked her about it she said it was posted on the door and register. It was not on the door and the sign on the register was hidden behind decorations. Never coming back here. Prices have went up and quantity has gone down. Been going here for years. Use to be my favorite taco shop in town. Im speaking on the California Burrito specifically here. Time after time the burritos lack meat. And end up being heavy on sour cream, guacamole, or just a mouthful of tortilla. Whole way through burrito. Over $9 dollars for a less then satisfying Burrito. There are fuller more consistent and better priced shops in any direction of here. I would suggest trying one of those establishments. read more

I originally loved this place. Great food, you could call in orders and they would be ready 10 minutes. But, over two years the prices have been raised every couple months and the food, has steadily declined you size and quality. It is a pity, I would not only go there for my personal family quick dinners, I would also go there every Tuesday evening and get food for my workers as a bonus. This place is amazing! I don't know why people gave them bad reviews. They do a grilled chicken adobada burrito that is TO DIE FOR. The burrito is HUGE too! In fact, they have several items on the menu which you wont find in most other taco shops. Their tortas selection is amazing. They make LOMO , which is a type of steak marinated in a red sauce and is amazing and not a lot of other places do it. Absolutely worst customer service and decent food at best. The woman at the counter overcharged me and then did not give me part of my order claiming she hadn't rung it up. When I pointed out that she had overcharged me twice already covering the amount of the food that she claimed she had not rung up she laughed and shrugged her shoulders. She then spoke to the cook who also proceeded to stand laughing for several minutes not making the missing food. Both workers decided to then ignore me and move on to the next customer. When I asked if they were planning on making the missing food or not both just looked at me laughed to each other and continued what they were doing. Tried this place out tonight with a friend, and although they weren't too impressed, I thought it was pretty decent. My only real complaint was that both of our California burritos coulda been warmer... I contribute this to the cold cheese. The place wasn't too busy, so I was surprised to have had to wait as long as we did for our food... the girl behind the counter had to come over after about 10 minutes or so and ask us again what we'd ordered... the size of the burrito though was enough for me not to care about that. I have tried their breakfast burritos and it was as it should be, eggs cooked on the spot with tasty meat and what tasted like a fresh tortilla. Sarai's has great California Burritos (ask them to put potatoes instead of french fries)! I never return to a Mexican food place unless they make great Burritos and I continue to return here. I haven't had much on their menu except the California and supreme Burritos but once I find something good I like to stick with it. The supreme burrito was okay but I love their California burrito! Their Burritos are good size and the staff is friendly. I like to call my order in before I arrive so it's ready as soon as I get there. They give out bottles of salsa if you're eating in. I called and ordered 1 fish taco and told the lady on the phone i wanted no pico de Gallo and no cabbage she cut me off mid sentence and said "ok! Give us 10 minutes " and hung up in my face!
