So the other day I go to Sombreros Drive Thru location in Lakeside and order 2 Carne Asada Burritos, 1 Special Bowl with a Drink and a Beef Taco! What I noticed was the size of the burritos were way too small and I was really upset. The burritos seemed like they were the size of my hand and I took a picture. Normally, they're the size of my arm, but apparently you're paying more for less now because of inflation. I've ordered Uber Eats from here for a couple months now since moving to Lakeside. At first my orders were perfect! The burritos were big and filled evenly. They either did that to rope me into ordering again or someone amazing got fired because the quality is absolutely pathetic now. The burritos are mostly tortilla and they don't even add all of the ingredients listed on each. Today was my last straw I ordered for my family celebrating my sisters graduation night. The order total was $176 plus tip (I know that's for the uber driver but still) all of the burritos that were supposed to have meat HAD NO MEAT. Like what... literally HUH?! How does that even happen I got refunded for half of it from uber but still if I wanted to pay almost $200 and get rice beans and cheese with a thick ass tortilla I would have bought those products and done it myself. I DON'T think so. it was November 20th, approximately 12:30pm. i had just gotten home from a long, awful doctors appointment. my husband, being the loving man he is, purchased me a breakfast burrito. Chorizo, my favorite. I sit down at my dining room table, salsa ready, stomach ready. i even send a picture to my best friend in excitement. i take my first bite. i start chewing... pretty good, but i quickly noticed it was completely cold, so i look down into my burrito... this is when things took a turn for the worst. They give you several tortillas you can wrap this food in if you want to eat it like that, and there's enough to feed four people for breakfast. my POTATO rolled tacos(even says potato on the receipt) somehow came out all filled with beef it's now the second time a sombreros has done this between two different locations if the staff can't handle making it take it off the menu. Don't bother asking for customizations, or accommodations, they will just make it how it originally comes, despite it being easier to not add a few ingredients. It's usually the nice, lovely ladies who are working in the restaurant when we come to order, they are always pleasant and friendly. I prefer a spicy hot salsa but the flavor of the picante red salsa has a powdered uncooked chili taste to me. So even though not spicy I'll stick to the green salsa and now that I know there's a chunky salsa I will request that one next time to try. read more

I am a long time customer of this place. I love the food, their menu offers a large selection to choose from, with a la carte items and combo meals, with healthy options and dietary preferences to good ol comfort foods. They also cater! One lady in particular, who works the drive thru window, she's such a sweetheart!! It's been at least 15 years that she's worked here... She still asks about my family, how the kids are doing. And, it doesn't matter how much time passes, she treats me as if we spoke the day before. Always smiling, a good person, she is definitely a big reason I am a frequent face here! Plus, she never forgets to ask for my phone number to make sure I get my points! There are a few other ladies that are very sweet, workers, up late, all night, to serve this little community. Props to you all, you're very big deals! The ambiance here is a kind of hole-in-the-wall taco shop vibe. It's not a lot of space, however, it is space nonetheless.
