Charming little cafe with good midwestern breakfast items. Excellent prices and 99 cent coffee!…read moreLunch menu looked good too. The staff were hardworking, friendly and attentive. I had the breakfast platter with a bowl of gravy on the side and ended up ordering extra biscuits - worth every carb! Room for groups of 4-10. Pet friendly with street side dining available and definitely kid friendly. True gluten free and vegan folks might struggle a bit but vegetarians would be ok. The fried potatoes were excellent. We will add this to our places to return in this area.

They opened in May of 2022 and I just now saw it even though there are a couple of tables on the sidewalk. I ordered the Turkey Club on the Croissant because it was a hot sandwich. The sandwich consisted of thin sliced turkey, crisp bacon, Swiss cheese, honey mustard, mayo, lettuce and tomato served on a flaky croissant. It was a very good sandwich except there was too much mayo for me. It was dripping off and making for a messy eating. No worries, I will hold the mayo next time. The sandwich came with "house" chips which were plain kettle potato chips. Now for the truly great find, desserts. Their desserts are not listed on the menu and some are by the pay counter, some in a little refrigerator and some in a "jewelry" case. I ordered the Chocolate Caramel Hole Cake out of the refrigerator. A "hole" cake has holes in it with, in this case, caramel poured into the holes. Absolutely the bomb! PLUS, I was served two pieces because the server thought the portions were small and got the bosses' permission to serve me two. Many thanks!

Stopped in driving though, this place is terrible. The staff is alright they had new hires so I'll…read moregive them that. But the cod was tiny and over cooked. The staff claimed it's on a timer set by corporate which would more than likely be the case, but that was double dipped fish. For $13 for a piece of fish that's almost half the size of my hand is outrageous . The burgers were over cooked blackened on all sides, terrible taste. The bread was stale on the buns for the burgers and the piece that came with the fish. Very sad experience.

One lone person took orders and operated the register. All I wanted was a concrete mixer, but the woman in front of me wanted a complete explanation of how her points worked, and she wanted to weigh her options for getting something for nothing. Meanwhile, I cooled my heels while several employees were darting around and others sat at the tables, but all were oblivious to the need to keep things moving. Even Kroger doesn't treat customers with this level of disdain. I asked the register operator for a manager, and that produced two deer-in-the-headlights kids who had never been confronted with anything but empty praise for showing up. The so-called manager said he was sorry, but when I asked him what he was going to do to fix it, I thought he'd gone unconscious while still standing. This idea had never occurred to him. All this while three employees smoked and joked at a table. Well, I could go on, but I'm sorry that I didn't stop in Bloomington, where they seem to have things together. I won't try Martinsville again.
