Can't describe how much I love this comfort food. The mini ghee idli with sambar was the absolute best. And the filter coffee, just heaven. Also loved the poori masala and the sweet kesari. My friends who ordered the dosas were also devouring it. This place is an absolute must when in Houston. Customer service is also really good.

I mostly go here for dosa only so can't comment on other menus but dosa is on point. Never too crowded during weekend lunch time and service is quick. Love their onion rava dosa!

New favorite spot for sure. This place is so much better than the Maharaja Bohg. Clean facility, great food, kind service. I absolutely loved the mini idli. You can ask for it separate or with the sauce, and the latter was the way to go. The coconut chutney with it was great as well. 5/5 I don't know that many dishes so I got the thali (special meal) and I'm glad I got it. Can't remember what all I had but I loved the sweet tapioca and all the curries. The yogurts were ok. I loved that my thali came with a huge fried puri and the other light flatbread thing. Both were yum. 5/5 My friends also enjoyed their meal :) Good stuff all around!

Food is always a hit or a miss at this place. Today the food was average or below average. The chili paneer and mango lassi were the only really good things I had today. The dosa was just a bit bland and the chutneys didn't taste as good as they have in the past. The waiters are waiting near you the whole time and don't give you space. There are definitely other better Indian restaurants you could spend your money at.

We like this place food and service were good. Portion wise is not bad neither. Prices range is quite reasonable. It's completely vegetarian restaurant. They have a big paper dosa like 2 feet long.

Came here for an early dinner on a rainy day. We were seated immediately and the place was pretty empty. ATMOSPHERE: Standard for a restaurant in this area. Spacious seating and a quiet interior. I appreciated how clean the restaurant felt. FOOD: Friend and I both ordered the vegetarian thali (platter). This basically has a variety of small dishes of dal, curries, vegetable mixes, yogurt, dessert, poori, and rice. This dish was not clearly written on their menu, so you have to ask for it. The food was good, and I'd say the dishes were 50:50 for ones that were flavorful and ones that were bland/meh. Luckily, since there are so many to choose from in the platter, you'll probably get at least one that you like. My favorite was their dal lentil soup. SERVICE: Could be better. While our order was taken quickly, we weren't checked-up on during our time there despite the restaurant being pretty much empty, and it was hard to get our waitress's attention for requests. PRICE/VALUE: For the thali, the value is great. You get a ton of food for ~$14, and a large variety of food too. Overall, this is a tried and true vegetarian Indian chain. If you want to try a decently authentic Indian thali/platter, this is a solid choice, but there are definitely better options in the area, food quality and service-wise.

I thoroughly enjoyed a Thali dinner at this location. The food is always served fresh and quickly the staff is friendly and very attentive to your needs while dining in.

Attentive customer service. Clean. Great portions for the price! My Indian friend said that this was her favorite place to get Thali and Dosa, and so I had to give it a try. Heard this place is a huge international chain too. I can't speak on the authenticity, but I did enjoy trying Thali with the different sides in the fitted bowls! There was so much food that I was only able to finish half. My friend mentioned that the menu is usually extensive, but they'd shortened it since reopening. The menu was one sheet, double sided this time. I liked how we were able to see the kitchen from the outside. Most of the cooks were wearing masks... except for one. That was a little bit concerning, but I felt safe other than that. Would come again!!

Came here for a late lunch with a very large party and they accommodated us with very short notice- which was very much appreciated. My favorites were gobi 65, gobi Manchurian, masala dosa and the channa Bhatura. The food came out really quick, hot and sooo delicious!! Everyone in our party really enjoyed the food and the excellent customer service that was provided. Their gulaab Ajman is also delicious! Can't wait to come back for more dosa. If you're looking for vegetarian cuisine that will have you wanting more.. this is the place!!

Came here for Sunday's brunch and ordered the thali. It said executive lunch on the menu as none of us can locate it. Waiter was friendly but couldn't really explain and elaborate on the menu. Understood it's a worldwide chain so we expected staffs to be more knowledgeable. The waiter brought us the thali and didn't even bother to explain what each dish was. We tried and food were a bit spicier than what we preferred. Good portion and a tad more expensive than on Hilcroft. Ample parking and quite clean.

The shopping center is fairly small with limited parking, and unfortunately there isn't much shade, so it can get extremely hot. One thing to note is that they're closed on Tuesdays. Ordering was simple. You grab a menu, place your order at the register, and our food arrived in about five minutes. Before ordering, I clearly requested no cilantro on everything because I have a cilantro allergy. Unfortunately, the complimentary papdi chaat came out covered in cilantro. I had to send it back to be remade, which was frustrating since food allergies should be taken seriously. The thali itself was good. It had a nice level of spice, came with three chapatis, rice, and a good variety of curries. At $11.99, I thought it was a good value. As for the papdi chaat, I still prefer Shiv Sagar's version. It has a more generous portion of potatoes and chickpeas, and if I remember correctly, it's also about a dollar cheaper. My only other disappointment was the loyalty program. I asked to join when paying, but was told that I should pay first. Once paid, the transaction had already been completed and it won't let me join. Perhaps they think we are a one time customer, so why join the program? Overall, I'm glad I gave this place a try and found another Indian restaurant in the Gandhi District. I'd definitely come back for the thali, but I hope they improve their attention to food allergies and make the loyalty program process more welcoming.

Unfortunately, our experience was quite the opposite. The first thing we noticed when we entered the restaurant was a strong, unpleasant smell. Since we had specifically gone there to try the food, we still decided to dine in. We ordered chai, Mysore masala dosa, chole bhature, and samosas. None of the dishes really stood out. The food was just average; not terrible, but definitely not worth making the drive for. The chai in particular had almost no flavor, and we couldn't even finish it. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially given the hype. There are many better options in the Katy/Richmond area where you can find great food in a much more pleasant dining environment. The smell inside the restaurant was also concerning, as it raises questions about hygiene and food safety standards. For context, we visited on a Saturday morning around 11:30 AM, so it wasn't late in the day or close to closing time. Based on this experience, I wouldn't prefer to visit again.

Their longevity (#1) of a near half century is nothing short of impressive, earning a nostalgic place in the hearts of many Houston diners, a good number of whom trace their first Indian cuisine experiences at this very location. While I do wish their success, it's hard not to point out minor mishaps in different aspects of the overall restaurant experience, which include: :: Awkward stares from the staff as they hover or stand in the middle of the room. It's understandable that they're monitoring to help where needed, but even then I will have to flag them down for water, napkins, or the bill. :: Buffet maintenance. They're semi-quick to replenish, but extremely slow at maintaining the cleanliness. Splatter from the daal makhani, a serving spoon not returned to the same serving tray, or even customers forgetting to close the bins at the dessert station (#2) could all be mitigated by a designated person keeping it tidy. :: Food quality. The tandoori chicken has been dry, the saag paneer could be creamier, and chicken tikka masala has had their bland days. Even the naan can be a bit too dry at times. Thankfully I've fared better with the chana masala and paneer makhani. I would also steer clear of their fruit punch. :: Decor is dark and dated. It still reminds me of a place that is stuck in time, which for most experiences are usually my favorite. The natural lighting during lunch alleviates this slightly, but the dinner hour makes this place feel like eating in an older hotel lobby. The vibes are most definitely challenging. :: Foodflation. Another price hike in the last year brings the buffet price to just under $22.
