Nut Allergy - I was fine with the dishes we ordered here. Order - to - Food: 18-25 minutes We arrived around 4:40PM on a Saturday evening and the place was relatively empty. It filled up closer toward 5:30PM. We ordered (for 5 people): 2x Seekh Kabob (Beef) 2x Seekh Kabob (Chicken) 1x Chicken Tandoori 1x A.K. Special Nihari 5x Garlic Naan Kabobs (3/5): Tasty, but portions were not great for the price. Chicken Tandoori (4/5): The only dish I'd come back for. Heavy on the spice, perfectly tender chicken Nihari (1.5/5): Great for having something with the naan, but there was so little meat in this dish that I wouldn't order it again for the price. Garlic Naan: It was good, but the texture felt off. The most perplexing issue with the restaurant is the service (0/5). Truly, the servers were masterful trolls. When we arrived, every table except ours had water and cups laid out. We got water, but no cups.We saw the cups on the counter and asked the waiter if we could take some, and he said he'd bring some out. He never brought any out. We ended up taking the cups from an empty table, and only then did he turn, take the cups from the counter, and refill the empty table! They also forgot our lassi and chai tea for over 30 minutes despite several reminders, and also forgot the second half of our order. The water also has a very strange taste here, like unfiltered tap water. Also, a roach ran across our table during the meal, which was... Authentically interesting.

    Beef nihari

If you love Pakistani food, this restaurant specializes in Nihari. They also have Biriyani and few other classic items. We had the beef nihari, mixed meat platter and garlic naan. The nihari was right on point with the flavor! I do wish they have a little more meat. The ratio was mostly sauce. The chicken also needed a little moisture. But overall good meal. They do all you can eat nihari on Wednesday nights. I have to come back to try their lamb nihari.

    Lunch Box Special

The food was very very good! The lunch box special had a little bit of everything, including chicken biryani. It was all flavorful and the meat was suuuuper tender. The mango lassi was what you would expect too. Very good. Service was just ok, but not horrible. But proper prices. Good portion sizes. Highly recommend.

    Puri paratha

Yummy puri paratha and sizzling beef dhaga kababs! Daal was pretty good with butter naan too. Pakola always brings nostalgia. Didn't have room for dessert or chai or lassi. Super friendly and welcoming staff. Personal attention and Jafar was specifically very friendly and hospitable. Very clean and have cool Karachi fun facts and pictures on the walls like W-11 :) Ample seating and parking lot in the front and back has parking too.

Poori Halwa from buffet was *chefs kiss*

We were craving poori Halwa and decided to give this place a shot. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by the manager (I believe his name was Hussain). We told him that we weren't sure about going for the buffet or ordering poori Halwa. He told us that we should check out the buffet. After looking at the assortment, we decided to go for the buffet. The channay, the aloo, Halwa - was really good and fresh. The manager actually brought piping hot pooris to our table and they were amazing. Light, crispy, and taste just like homemade pooris. The others with me did try the nihari, tandoori chicken, and biryani. They really enjoyed it! I've never had a Pakistani "brunch" buffet amazing experience this awesome. Highly recommend Ashar's! FYI - this location was really clean and the manager was very attentive to customer needs. I also saw him constantly checking the buffet to ensure entrees were being fill etc.

Went for Iftar during Ramadan. They were pretty disorganized. Maybe didn't expect people to show up on a Friday night during Iftar time? Idk. Said $25 pp with 18 items. Pretty sure there wasn't 18 items on that buffet table unless we start counting garnishings. Food came out late. People were waiting. Trays were emptying faster and had to tell them to refill. It was slightly chaotic. I'm used to the seamless-ness at the sugar land location because that's where we normally go. The chicken tikka was fantastic. The nihari meat was meh. Cmon Ashars, I thought y'all were good at nihari. The fried chicken was awesome too. Chai was meh. Got to fix a few kinks yall. It's the end of Ramadan. Maybe next year.

Reg Nihari priced at $14.99. This is not Pakistan rupees it's US DOLLAR.

Ok and now the burger story, and so many other good things to eat here for the palate. Although the inspiration for the Pac-Man character was the image of a pizza with a slice removed I would say the Pak-Man burger was the perfect Puck-(in a burger)-Man. The Pak sauce is for real and just the right taste to go with the seasoning. The brioche buns held tight together even with the dripping sauce and flavors coming out of this fantastic meal. I love Samosas too and the truck says it all. Next time I'll get some of the Nutella samosa and or kulfi ice cream if they have it. Glad I stopped in to try this truck out and the staff was supper friendly and efficient.

We had the family garlic naan I forgot which karahi but the chicken breast with a cream based sauce, mango lassi, chole (chickpeas), lahori fish. It took me this long to go because I kept looking at their prices and couldn't justify, but don't be like me and let it scare you away. The portions are definitely more than enough for 2. They are not stingy with their portion size. Looks like their weekday lunch prices are pretty decent so I'm going to have to go back for that for sure. Pretty much everything we had was great. I will say next time I want to try a more traditional tomato based Karahi. Family size Naan was $10 it's probably like 3 regular naan super fluffy not dense so it's easy to eat. Chole was perfect great flavor all around chickpeas were soft. Mango lassi was good but I think it was too heavy for me so I may pass on it next time and leave more room for food. Not sure what kind of fish they use for the lahori fish but the flavors were great, I feel like it should come with fries and I wish it was another type of fish but otherwise on point. The Karahi was chicken breast, really good flavor if you are introducing someone to Pakistani food,it's cream based so it's milder but still has great flavor. My bill was around $87 and I definitely had leftovers. I suggest not going alone if you are getting off the regular menu and not weekday lunch.
