Momos are a must here, especially since it is a Nepalese specialty. We had goat and chicken momos steamed, johl and with chili and all were super tasty with lots of flavor. We also had garlic naan with a variety of curries (I think one of them was coconut curry) which was also good. It's in a plaza so parking might be crowded but they had signs for additional parking. It felt comfortable dining here and I would come back.

We visited here while on the way to the rodeo. The restaurant was very clean and inviting. We ordered the mixed grill and it was very flavorful. I had the coconut curry. While it was good, I would have liked to see more flavor. The cocktails werent bad at all. The fact that they had cocktails was a plus. The samosas werent my absolute favorite. I would definitely try this place again since the staff was friendly and the menu offers lots of variety

This was our first time at Kathmandu, and we had an all around pleasant experience. The standout dish were the momos! It's a nice interior and very comfortable, with tables fitting groups of almost any size. Parking is also easy to find, at least during lunchtime. And the service was kind and attentive, and I appreciated our waiter giving us suggestions and accommodations for our tastes! The food itself was delicious, although nothing blew us away - which is perfectly fine. We are only two people with limited stomach space, and we were very intrigued to come back to try more of the menu very soon! We had the chilli chicken momos and I appreciated the flavorful sauce and filling, with a soft dumpling dough. Sometimes momos can be tough. Next time, we will do the steamed ones instead because they looked great. The Newari platter was an array of amazing textures. Roasted soybeans, black eyed peas, sardines, boiled egg, potatoes, and more. Very delicious. The rice pudding was also quite pleasant, light, mildly spiced, and not too sweet! We will be coming back and look forward to trying more.

Decided to try Kathmandu Curry & Bar on a whim, and this place blew away our expectations! Great service, nice atmosphere, and absolutely amazing cuisine. We got the momos and Newari plate. The momos are an absolute must!! If you've never had them before, they are just like dumplings with meat+spices filling and served with the creamy tomato sauce on top or on the side. We also enjoyed the various curries and vegetables on the Newari plate. Our favorite dish was the malai kofta. Service was amazing too. Our server took the time to explain the menu and provide her recommendations as this was our first time visiting. Food prices are also affordable. We will be back!

We stumbled in this restaurant randomly. This is my 1st time trying Nepalese cuisine. The restaurant was emptied about 3 tables plus us and a lot of staffs in house, but the service was super slow. Wonder why? Since the dishes we ordered shouldn't be cook a là minute. The food is similar to Indian cuisine but the taste is a bit sweeter bcoz looks like they put tomato sauce in it. Personally this would be my 1 time deal. Took so long to get served Price range is a bit higher compared to Indian cuisine .

It's hard to say no to curries. I crave for something spicy in this 3-digit Houston heat. Yup, you heard it right. Heat on heat makes my tummy burning. I passed by Kathmandu Curry & Bar several times during my mall audit last 2 years. Every time I walked by, there were always crowds. My Yelper friend Sara I mentioned this restaurant because I was looking for a new restaurant to host my UYE (foodie meetup). This is my tradition to try the place before I could share my foodie loves. I came here on a Sunday afternoon after my weekly grocery shopping. I was starving. I ordered Mint Lemonade ($4), Chicken Curry ($17) and Pani Puri ($9). I swear these prices added up $30 to be qualified for the check-in offer. But waitress refused to honor because "it doesn't exist." I had Puri Puffs at Indian buffets but never had Pani Puri like this before. The flavored water was spicy and savory. I poured it into each pocket and feed straight into my mouth. The excitement starts with crunchy shell followed by tasty filling and the cold liquid from the sauce. Boom! Bam! It was also fun to eat. The mint lemonade has a foam from squeezed mint green. It had a hint of sweetness and not overpowering taste of mint. The drink was refreshing but it served in a wrong container with a straw. I just wish it was served in a tall drink glass instead of fluted water glass. My entrée was the signature Kathmandu Curry with chicken as the protein. I chose naan instead of rice as starch. The chicken was so tender. The sauce wasn't pungent nor spicy, as I was eating. I'll know later. Haha. Naan bread was fresh and fluffy. Well balanced main dish. Overall, I spent a little beyond my budget for a lunch but it was well worth the experience. It has a potential to be featured at my foodie adventures event. Especially, they offer split checks to the individual level.

The restaurant is located on the strip mall, thus there is plenty of parking. Came here for lunch on the weekend. Though I was the first customer (20mins after their opening time), people came in fast after 10mins after me. I had the steamed goat momo, lamb chops, and butter chicken with garlic naan. The goat momo was delicious. The proportion of dumpling skin to meat was great. The meat was seasoned well. The lamb chops came out sizzling out. I asked for medium temperature on my meat, and I got medium. The lamb was seasoned perfectly, and the meat was so tender. The butter chicken was a slight disappointment. The gravy was too sweet, but the chicken was cooked right. The garlic naan was fluffy and yummy. All my food came out piping out, and service was good. Restaurant is clean, and decor is simple and nice. There are televisions at every corner that broadcast different channels. The restaurant has a good atmosphere. I would come back for the momo for sure.

I was in town visiting for work and decided to stop here for dinner. I didn't love the area and the restaurant was empty when I walked in. The momos and curry sauce tasted nearly the same and even though I asked for extra spice it was very mild. Overall the price was good for the quantity but it was an overall eh experience.

After trying momos for the first time, I was ready to seek them out again and was led here. Since they were also running a BOGO special on social media, it was an opportune time to visit! The interior was a bit stuffy, with the scent of incense burning. I was set on momos, so I decided on the chili goat momos and the steamed chicken momos. When I mentioned wanting to use the BOGO promotion with the momos, the waitress informed me I had to order the same protein for the free one to be applied, despite me already ordering the more expensive goat momos and wanting the less expensive chicken momos as my freebie. Though she insisted on these strange rules, I finally told her to just charge me extra. The momos came out hot and delicious. The filling contained juicy meat and veg as well as fragrant spices similar to a kebab. I loved the spicy heat from the chili tossed goat momos. The steamed chicken momos were also tasty and came with two sauces, one of which had a great kick. I sampled some of my friend's thali, and the goat was nice. When the bill came, I wasn't charged extra thank goodness, as it was a policy that didn't make sense. Overall worth a visit if you are a dumpling lover like me! They offer a plethora of other great looking and even unique dishes including a jackfruit one that looked intriguing, so I can see myself returning despite the owner spending the duration of the meal watching a soccer match behind the bar.

I've now been here several times and the food is consistently outstanding. Highly recommend this restaurant. Ample parking and not too busy during lunch hours.

Cauliflower curry, paneer, and Kathmandu curry. All great! Yummy naan.

Yummy, delicious, but more expensive. We got the Kathmandu curry, paneer, and cauliflower (veggie) curry. Delicious! Wish we could get it with spice, but we had a little one with us. Naan was great.

4 stars. Stopped in…read morefor an early weekday dinner. The place wasn't overly busy with dine-in, but the to-go orders were running nonstop. The inside isn't giant -- on the smaller side, with a lot of tables packed in, plus a couple of larger ones for bigger parties. Pro Tip: The spice level is was Medium/low, so if you are expecting some very spicy dishes you need to ask for them. Frontier Beef Karhai, $19.50 -- 3.5/5. Himalayan fried chicken, $24.99 -- 4.5/5. Nice crispy batter, prepared a little differently than you're used to. It's skinless, bone-on chicken that's been filleted off the bone a bit, so instead of a plain drumstick, it's more like a filleted drumstick, with the breast filleted off, with a little bone left on to hold it together. The chicken was super tender and moist and the batter was crunchy. There's a bit of an Indian flavor profile, but not overwhelming -- I was actually hoping for a little more spice, kick, and heat. Still, very good chicken, and I'd try it again. Rice, 3.5/5. Solid side, but nothing spectacular. I've had much better. Garlic naan, $9 -- 3.5/5. Solid, big piece of naan. Would get it again. Service was quick. The food took a little while to come out, mostly because of the fried chicken -- though we ordered that right when we sat down, then ordered the rest about ten minutes later as we looked over the menu. If you've lived in Houston all your life, I highly suggest giving this place a try. It's one of those Houston staples that's been around, and some of the things they do are really good and a little different. That said, from a value perspective I think a place like Aga's outshines them just slightly. I've had many of the same curries at Aga's and find them a touch better, and a slightly better value. In the end, it's a totally fine place for takeout or to sit down and eat give it a try. Would recommend, and would return.

These are some of the best drinks I've ever had at any type of Indo-Pak restaurants in Houston. The mint lemonade was definitely in a league of its own. We didn't go for any appetizers, just went straight in to the entrées. The Chicken Hara Masala Supreme. Just wow, chef's kiss. Think cut up chicken thighs in a green curry that almost has a salsa like mouth feel with vegetables. Absolutely decadent. The Steak Tikka. Round of applause. I overheard the owner telling other tables that it's the best steak in Houston. I'll say it's the best steak I've ever had at an Indo-Pak restaurant. The steak was super tender it had that famous Tikka style smokiness. The Butter Chicken. Pretty damn solid. The gravy was silky and perfectly textured. They also use chicken thighs for this, which makes it even better. The Saag Paneer. It was all right, I've had better at other places, but still super solid. The Paneer was fresh and was great on all the various naans we got. For the naan, we just got the garlic and the butter naan. They are absolutely great when they come straight out of the tandoor oven, but I found that they get a little too hard if not eaten quickly. I'm sure they would reheat really well. We also tried the spicy rocket naan and it decent. I would just stick with garlic and butter. The only miss for me was the Mutton Biryani. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid biryani dish, but I've had better that had a little bit more flavor. The mutton was very tender, but the opportunity was making the rice a little bit less clunky. I see a lot of reviews with people hating on things like service or area. Let me just say we had no issues with service. The service was top-notch. We spent $222 with tip across three people. A little pricey but totally worth it.

The portions were generous (as we expect in Texas), so you'll never go home hungry and your wallet will remain heavy too! If you haven't had Nepali food yet, you have to try Momo House first! Nepali food shares similarities with Indian dishes, so you'd like it if you enjoy Indian. I'd say Nepali tends to be lighter (less butter and oils) and the spice/heat level leans milder. That being said, "momos" are distinctly Nepali. They're essentially dumplings, but you have the option to enjoy them as a "jhol momo", which feels different from east Asian dumplings because they're served sitting in a savory soup-like sauce with the familiar flavor notes of a south Asian dish. One cool thing to note: They do not serve beef here, but they have buffalo! Try it if you haven't yet. It's similar tasting to beef, but naturally leaner. Contrary to what you might think, it's actually not gamey at all! Momo House truly lives up to its name. Tons of momo options are available. Plain steamed, pan-fried, deep-fried, chilli momo (which are momos that are stir-fried with a flavorful spicy sauce), with soup (steamed momos sitting in a plain broth), with jhol (steamed momos served in a flavorful soup-like sauce), and they even have the option to get frozen momos if you'd rather cook it at home on another occasion! We tried both their chicken jhol momos ($11) and buffalo jhol momos ($13). They were both phenomenal! You get 10 pieces of hefty-sized dumplings. They do not skimp on the meat here, you'll be pretty full after eating one order of momos! We also tried their chow mein ($14). This was yummy too. It had a fried soybean product and chicken slices in it and a fried egg on top The goat thali ($17) was ordered too. This was great as well. The goat was tender and each item was flavorful and cooked perfectly. I especially enjoyed the saag that came with it!

My friend and I agreed that the petal punch was the best cocktail we had both ever had. The lychee and mint is just PERF! Food: we tried as much as we could. The momos was yummy and came with a great sauce. The tandoori chicken drumsticks with the sauce, YUM. I knew it was going to be great. The veggie samosas were also wonderful. The mint chutney is my preference over the tamarind, but both were good. Chicken mungfali- 10/10 but wish it were a little spicier. Chicken korma- spicier than I thought but delicious 10/10. The Nutella samosas were the only thing that was disappointing. They were way crunchier than we expected. The picture of them made it look softer and flakier than it was. Especially with the price point of $16- was not worth it. Service: our server, Magic, was great to us and showed us all his faves. Inside: very lovey inside and very clean. Can't wait to come back again! I heard they have a lunch buffet but didn't see it on the menu. I need to do some research on that!
