1st visit to Saray and will not be our last.There are 2 rooms one is very bright and other is darker.We sat in the bright area which was warmer. We had appetizers which were excellent.The dips were awesome you can do a single or a 3 combo or 5 combo which works well if you have a several people. As we were dining we saw several other dishes which all looked awesome and will try next time. And if you want some fabulous desserts this is the place to go.Yumm Yumm!! My husband and I went to Saray on a Friday night. We've tried pretty much all of the Turkish/Mediterranean restaurants in the area and I have to say that Saray is fabulous and is our new favorite. The food and place are nice, but check your bill and calculate it yourself before you go. The waiter did not know how to use that white hand device they use and overcharged us. It took phonecalls and going back there to get it refunded, so calculate it yourself to avoid that waste of time and stress. read more

I went there twice with two different people. The decor looks fantastic. But I'm not going to a restaurant for a decor alone. It's a service business and the service sucks. Twice my %25 tip went unacknowledged, no thank you, no good bye. And during service we had to wink down wait staff. All of them were the same. It looks like to me that they're not getting any of the tip. I don't feel comfortable eating in places where the wait staff is unhappy. It can actually be unhealthy... If you ever worked in a restaurant you'll know what I mean. Food was not the best quality. At breakfast tomatoes were not even red. Won't go there again. I feel sorry for the tips I left, twice. On the second time the host that picked up the cash payment, when we were leaving, was at the desk right in front of the door. This bastard didn't even lift his head to say goodbye to us. I went to this establishment for Sunday brunch based on a suggestion from a friend. The food was less than mediocre and we had to send the bread back cause it wasn't fresh. We paid $65 (for 2) to have olives , cheese, jam & eggs. Tea was cold & hard boiled eggs were black inside. Not pleasant at all. There was left over old dirty balloons from a previous event in the corner of sunroom. I was there with my two year old and he was playing with the balloons, one ended up popping cause it touched an object, right away the manger Ahmet comes up to us and says he is only entitled to one balloon and he's planning on giving the balloons out to other children. I just stared at him as if he was joking, he had the audacity to ask me if I Understood what he was saying. I couldn't believe it.. left a sour note in our mouth. I will never go back here again. Poor management and not friendly at all. Wish we had picked another restaurant and not ruined our Brunch. Nothing to report here other than poor people skills. Horrible read more

This place is making the best turkish doner in nj. I think it is Made from real beef instead of a bizarre thick mixture of soy-protein and ground beef.. I gave 4 stars because people were smoking at the deck area, and my son has asthma. so we weren't able to enjoy as much.. I wondered why they even let people smoke.. I love Turkish food and I am so happy I found this place! The service we received from Gerkem was impeccable. I suffer from multiple food allergies and he was able to help me choose options that were appropriate for me and substitute options that were questionable for my diet. They can cater to gluten free, lactose free and vegan diets! The food was amazing! I had the the chickpea stew and shepherds salad. My friend tried the branzino fish which was expertly deboned by our server at the table. It was also very delicious. Bright and very clean- all servers were masked up and hand sanitizer is available at every table. The kitchen staff is quick and friendly. The manager was very thoughtful and bought over A serving of their new lahmacun ( Turkish pizza - thin crust with meat sauce) on the menu for my husband to try on the house. My family enjoyed the liver - very fresh served with red onions, Iskembe Soup tons of flavor, Shepard salad with feta cheese- very light and delicious, İskender - döner slices with fired bread on the bottom and topped with a rich tomato sauce- delicious eat it while it's hot to enjoy all the flavors, doner Entrée with white rice. Make sure you try the kunefe for dessert- shredded filo pastry, soaked in sweet, sugar-based syrup, and typically layered with cheese and Topped with pistachio. Pairs perfectly with Turkish tea.
