This was my first Sardi's experience ever. I wish I could say it was as good as the food, but unfortunately, several other Yelpers have pointed out the rather glaring issues with the service here. The food is on point! I had the fried chicken pieces (Chicharrons de Pollo), and they were amazingly delicious. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, extremely hot from the fryer, and plenty of pieces to boot. This is a winner... except it apparently takes about a half hour to cook. That's not an exaggeration. I'm in line, right? The couple in front of me places their order, and the dude is really paying attention to them, following them down the line, sees me, quickly turns away, no one else helps out... starting to feel a bit odd here. He finishes up with them, then completely walks past me to do something else for a bit, then finally comes back to acknowledge my presence and takes my order. Maybe it's a cultural thing, but I'm used to service where at least I'm acknowledged. I know you can't get to me right away, I totally understand that. But let me know that you see me, that you care about my business, and that you will help me as soon as you can. This guy couldn't have acted more indifferent if he tried. Anyway, he tells me my order will take 10 minutes. Meh, okay, that's not too bad. I can eat at my desk while I work, no biggie. So wrong... Half an hour later, they are trying to find my original order (looking through tickets in the trash! really hope you washed your hands afterwards). They finally come back with my order, add the sides, the sauces, and then I have to go back to the fountain drink station to get plasticware. Unbelievable. Thankfully the food was good. The woman who took my payment and worked with me to get the order showed zero empathy, though she looked more tired and worn down than actually rude. Also, and I'm not saying that everyone HAS to speak it, but if you're going to work in a public-facing role at a busy restaurant, please try to bridge that language gap. Please? If I ever go back (we'll see...), I'm definitely going to order just a plain old roasted chicken that's already cooked and waiting. I'd like to try it for comparison's sake, and I don't want to go through that fiasco again. Two out of five for both quality and quantity of some very delicious vittles. read more

I'd never heard of Sardi's until one of my co-workers brought lunch for the office and I was HOOKED!! This place has some dayum good chicken! KF-who? This place is finger licking good and the side dishes are amazing. The chicken is always hot and fresh and ready to be devoured the moment you smell it. The fried rice is amazing (get a double order, you will not be disappointed!). They have several choices for sauces, my fav is the 'green'... it just does something to my soul! Came here on a business trip. Arrived around 8:00pm. Restaurant was busy, but not much of a wait to put my order in. Staff was so friendly. Person taking my order wrote everything down. I was told it would be a 15 min wait for my order as they just ran out of churrasco de pollo. I wasn't in a rush so that was fine. Guy at cashier was really nice. They brought my food to the table when it was ready. Flavor was great (ESPECIALLY the pico...omg) and the portion was double what I expected. I've been to this location 4 times now and have been pleasantly surprised by the juicy flavored chicken and tasty sides. This last time, I got there a few minutes before they closed and I was not served in a rushed manner. The staff is friendly, efficient and do not have a bad attitude. The restaurant is also clean. The organization of the place left a bit to be desired given they have two places to order but I don't realize I was in the wrong line to order a bowl until I stood in the long line with everyone else for quite some time. Once I finally received my food it was worth the wait. The chicken was moist and the bowl was flavorful. The plantains were especially good. Definitely worth the trip. And next time I'll have a better idea of how to navigate the restaurant, since they apparently don't think proper directional signage is necessary. read more

Don't get their Ceviche Mixto. The portion was ridiculously small. I understand that seafood is expensive but this was so disappointing that for the first time in Sardi's history, I actually felt bad. Almost like a heartache. This place is so awesome that I go here almost every week. Aside from that setback above, this is what I usually get and the results are nothing short of amazing. Family Meal: 2 whole chickens, 4 big sides and 6 cans of soda for a little less than 40 bucks. This is usually split between me and my friend. I would get 1 chicken, 2 sides which are White Rice & Black Beans and Fries with 3 bottles of water instead of soda. He would get 1 chicken, 2 sides which are Fried Rice & Black Beans and Plantains with 3 cans of soda. Then they would ask us what sauce we'd like to have. We tell em everything. Though the green hot sauce is the best, I do enjoy the mayo sauce as well. Their chicken looks succulent, it smells distinctively delicious and it tastes even better! The breast area might be a tad bit dryer compared to the original location in Beltsville, but that's why we have the sauce to help right?? The Black Beans & Rice combo is soooooo good. It may look simple and un-tasty, but it's actually flavorful and goes really well with the chicken. I get fries because they give you a lot and with the sauce you have, they're tasty! My buddy's plantains are always tender and slightly sweet. What more can you ask for? I can ask for the Ceviche's portion to be bigger lol. Seriously, their chicken isn't expensive and the taste is truly marvelous. Even if the line is long, it goes by really fast because they know what they're doing. I came here visiting from NY and I did look over the reviews before deciding on what I was going to order. I decided to go with what they are known for which is the rotisserie style roasted chicken quarter leg (I got the dark meat and it comes with 2 quarter legs for the price of 1!) and it was delicious and well money spent! Their meals come with 2 sides and I got the cabbage with sweet plantains. The service was quick and they get very busy quickly but they do try to move the line along as well. I love the sauces that accompany your meal I went with the green salsa which I loved! It had a slight spice to it but nothing overwhelming. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to others. However, my review only reflects the roasted chicken so I cannot speak on other menu items. I came here on a Monday evening and there wasn't a line. The staff was very rude. I approached the "Order Here" sign and it was a guy standing directly in front of me chopping chicken and never looked up to me to say "How can I help you." So I looked at the guy standing next to him and asked is this where I order and he looked at me then looked away. At this point I was irritated. Finally the guy cutting the chicken decided to ask what I wanted after I stood there for a few minutes. I then tried to order one entree and it was going to take 15min to cook :/. I appreciate the freshness of the food but I just didn't have the time to wait. Aside from the rude staff I ended up ordering the 1/4 dark meat chicken, plantains, fried rice, and black beans. The food was delicious! The chicken was nicely seasoned and moist for the most part. The plantains were cooked perfectly and the black beans were also nicely seasoned. The fried rice was awesome. It was sprinkled with herbs and pieces of egg. I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, I enjoyed my food but was disappointed in the service. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture :/. I'll probably try this place out again and hope that the employees are more welcoming next time and are more appreciative of our business! read more

I can't believe I just tried Sardi's for the first time, it was excellent even as I took out the chicken! The chicken was amazingly good- moist, tender meat and perfectly crispy, crunchy and just salty skin. Yum- and the three sauces are so good, each with their own level of spiciness (the yellow is mild, red is medium, and green is spicy). The fried rice is really good too, as the rice is chewy, not soggy, and flavored just right although I didn't care for the raw scallions that were thrown in. I also thought the green beans were really salty and nearly inedible, although cooked al dente which was nice. A great place to eat, I will definitely be coming back! read more

Consistently good food. Chicken always moist. Sides are amazing, especially the brussels sprouts and corn. Line is always moving fast, even on very busy days. - 1 star for no menus that I could take home or peruse while I made up my mind. As a first timer, I ended up letting several people go ahead of me until I asked a guy in line what he recommended. I went with his suggestion of the Ultimate Mixed Grill. Boy was it satisfying! The Ultimate Mixed Grill comes with two sides and I selected plantains and the Peruvian fried rice to accompany the grilled skewer of shrimp, carne asada, chorizo and 1/4 chicken. I didn't know it would come on a bed of white rice or I would've opted for a different side. There are a lot of side options as well as main entree options to choose from. I'd recommend bringing a friend so that you can sample more from the menu. My items were cooked to order and it was so tempting not to pull over and take a nibble. I did however scarf down a plantain at the red light....lol I was only able to finish half and will enjoy the rest tomorrow. The smell is only a hint at the deliciousness that awaits you at Sardi's. I couldn't help but notice a steady stream of people seated and getting to go food. There is parking in the front and back of the restaurant and the establishment is clean. I got the 1/4 chicken white meat with fried rice and plantain. The chicken was tender and very juicy. The rice was pack with bit of chicken and flavor. The plantain was a bit plain. The sauces are they have are pretty good. With a 1/4 chicken you are limited to 3. The verde is the best, you can also get rosa (red) and white. They do offer more then chicken. They get pretty busy during lunch hour but the line moves smoothly but does get slow. There is plenty of parking both in the front and back. read more

Sardi's is pretty good! I've heard so many people talk about how they love Sardi's and I always thought there was nothing special about this place...but I was wrong. On Saturday, I stopped by the Laurel location with my grandma and younger cousin. The line was out the door, but they move pretty fast! I order a half chicken, rice, plantains and green beans. The food was pretty good. The best part is the sauce. I ordered the "green sauce" (I can't remember the actual name), but it makes the food really good. This place is semi-expensive for a fast casual dining place, I believe my bill came to $14-$16. They also have enough people on staff, so the lines always move fast and everyone is attentive. Sardi's is amazing. I have never had a bad meal from here. The Peruvian rice excellent. I could eat that by itself. I hadn't been here in a couple of years but I went on Sunday and discovered they now serve empanadas!!! OH EM GEE!!! So good!!! I'd go back just for rice and empanadas. Good food. Came here after being cooped up in the house for five days after Christmas due to a cold. I got the half white chicken with fries and beans and rice on the side. The portions are huge and big enough for two meals. The green sauce is the best in my opinion, a little creamy a little spicy. I've visited the Beltsville location several times but never this one. So for some reason, I've been craving a Peruvian chicken bowl for the past week. Unfortunately, this was not an easy task to get... as i called several times on Thursday with no answer (i just wanted to know if the bowl comes with guac so i could proceed to order). Their website says the new covid 19 hours are till 9pm btw. I decided to give it another try this afternoon and they finally answered, and my question was answered, yes the Inca bowl comes with guac!! So i proceeded to order the Inca bowl which was somewhat tasty. The rice was a bit mushy and the cut of the chicken was pretty huge. However, the cilantro dressing that comes with it is super tasty!! When i arrived to pick up my order (oh btw, they do offer curbside delivery), it was packed, explains why they weren't answering! I went around noon-ish, parking was super easy to find though, as they have a pretty big lot. I've never had Peruvian chicken before and it's all the rave for me. I'm not from the area and had no idea about this place until my boyfriend and I were suppose to go to jersey mikes. So glad, we left and tried this place. We went during the lunch rush and we were overwhelmed by the menu. I got the 1/2 chicken and it was cooked to perfection, the dark meat just slid off of the bone, and the white breast meat was juicy. I love that it comes with little cups of sauces, I have no idea what they were LOL but it compliments the chicken a lot. Fried plantains were extremely filling, reminds me more of a dessert than a side dish. And the rice was fine, nothing to rave about, but still good. When I went inside to pick it up, i mistakingly threw the receipt away!! Being that I ordered a specialized order, no one else had ordered the same dish. A small from Hispanic guy with a short cut, gray short sides and ARCHED eyebrows refused to give me my food!!!! Needless to say, he brought me out of my character!!! Love this place , I love the charbroiled food selection they have . I usually get the chicken but I decided to get the lamb and let me tell you it was scrumptious. When you walk in the the location it's a line you stand in up front to place the specialty orders (lamb, salmon etc) . I didn't have to wait long and they even ask you how you wanted it cooked in the middle . The meat was topped over rice wit a kinda of Aus Ju sauce from the lamb, I had the choice of two sides so I always get the seasonal Brussel sprouts and carrots and then the spinach with whole garlic cloves and bell peppers . They have great friendly customer service, and every time you come into the facility it's packed but the line moves rapidly and it's always clean, and they allow you to have multiple selections of the different sauces that you can pair with your dishes! read more

This review is strictly about the service, I believe Sardi's food is great I haven't been disappointed in not one location until yesterday when I went to this location as I just moved to Laurel and wanted to catch them before closing. Online says this location closes at 10Pm. It's a 4 min drive from my new home, I got there around 9:41. The front door was locked and a lady was taking the trash out telling me they stop serving customers at 9:30. If you guys don't take customers after 9:30 then that's when you guys should be closed. I winded up going to another restaurant and caught them before they closed and they still took me, which I feel Sardi's didn't want to do. FOOD -- 5 Let me tell you. The food is incredible! Flavorful, fresh, lots of selection. You won't be disappointed if you like Peruvian chicken. Let me tell you something else. You won't be able to make up your mind when choosing sides! I personally love the green beans, the fried rice, the mashed potatoes, and the fried yuca. PRICE -- 4 The price is on par with other similar restaurants. You get a lot of food for what you pay. I'm a big guy so I eat everything I order but I can easily see someone with a smaller appetite than me sharing the dishes. Average price is about $12 per meal with a drink. The lunch special includes a canned drink, which they have a large selection. SERVICE -- 3 The folks are friendly, once they start helping you. I'm only giving three stars here because I've been to this location quite a few times after the lunch rush (around 2pm) and have had to wait to be served. Not because there is a line, either. Lots of staff standing around and chatting while I wait to place my order. I should also note that sometimes ordering can be confusing. Depending on what item you're ordering from the menu depends on where you place that order. Some orders are taken at the counter, others are at the register. And it doesn't seem to matter if it's take out or dine in. I haven't figured out the logic yet. I do love Sardi's chicken! I'll keep coming back! read more

I have eaten almost everything here and the food it is good, they have a good combinations for each plate of food. I love the sides variety. One time per week we visited this place, a lit bit far away from our office but still good food. The points if is you have just one hour for lunch the quick way to eat fast is to order chicken, because if you want to order others dishes you have to wait over 20 minutes or next time you have to call. I enjoyed the Laurel location much better than the Capital Heights. I ordered the Inca Burrito from the Laurel location for the first time last week. Instantly I was in love and began raving about it. Unfortunately, I should have waited to do that. Yesterday after work I was craving the burrito because the first one (in Laurel) tasted so good, I ordered one from the Capitol Heights location. I have to admit I was not pleased. The Laurel location was extremely generous with the amount of chicken they put in the burrito. So much so, chicken pieces were falling out!! The Capital Heights location has very little meat and an excessive amount of rice. Literally, all I tasted was rice and black beans. I didn't even finish it. I ate about 3-4 bites and decided I wasn't going to force it. Totally disappointed in the Capital Heights location. So before I rave about another item from this restaurant,I guess I have to make sure that I try it from other locations firsts. Because apparently not all Sardi's are created equal. I really hope that no one that I told about this burrito goes to the Capital Heights location because they will be disappointed. So all in all, whenever I am in Laurel, I will make it a point to stop by. Don't even bother ordering the burrito from the Capital Heights location unless you like rice and bean burritos. *The picture I am posting is from the Laurel location. An Employee, without my permission, rang my order up and took my credit card to the back room where the manager was. I thought that was very suspicious. When I asked, the manager said that was a mistake. Same employee was playing on her phone and I had to wait to place my order until she looked up. It took twenty minutes at 3:30 in the afternoon, mind you, it was NOT busy. I had to go check on my food, everyone was standing around and no one was actually making food. They said it would be another two minutes. It was, but my order was wrong. Whoever brought it out to me offered to fix it, but at that point, I was not hungry anymore so I got it to go. I did mention that I saw five people standing around doing nothing, but she insisted there was only one person working. I know what I saw. Ridiculous she wanted to argue with me when the employees were right there in the open kitchen!! I will never eat here again. read more

Muy delicioso. The chicken was perfect, and the grilled shrimp was even better. However, the best thing on my plate was the Arroz de chaufa. I don't think I've ever had it, and it was really good. This is my very first time writing a Yelp review for any establishment, but after my visit today, I felt the need to do so! And this is not even about the food (their food is always good, always!), but about their outstanding customer service. This Sardi's by far has the best customer service I have experienced. The staff are so courteous and polite, and there are minor details that I always look for in the staff (eg. saying "thank you", smiling, checking up on you, etc.). I would like to commend Tony for being so polite, asking me how long I have been waiting for my carry-out. I ordered something that takes a while to prepare so I told him I did not mind waiting. Even the other staff check-up on the other customers, even though they are quite busy and people keep on coming. The young lady at the cashier (I forgot her name) was very polite as well. I highly recommend this particular branch and I wish every other establishment train their people like this! read more
