Chicken Terriyaki over brown rice and veggies
Eric L.

I was craving some stir fry teriyaki. Of course Sarku is a chain so nothing to go wow about however, quality and service goes along way, The cashier server wasn't the most enthusiastic. Also they advertise sushi rolls that apparently they don't make according to the server. Also the orders were incorrect. I asked for spicy and they gave me regular. They also gave a little bit of vegetables unlike before they would give a bit more. The space for veggies in the to-go plate was small and it wasn't even filled. I just didn't feel 100% satisfied as I've been to different Sarkus and the experience wasn't that bad. I honestly think the Sarku's in the malls are better.

I've ordered twice from them through Uber eats. Haven't loved them this far and don't think I'll order from them again. The first time I ordered two bentos and a miso soup. Honestly the flavor just wasn't there for me but I gave them a second try. The second time we ordered 2 bentos and extra order of 6 dumplings which equal to 12 dumplings and all we received was a 1/4 of a little cup of sauce. Idk how that was logical. I was very disappointed they didn't send a single pack of sauce of any kind but mostly because the dumplings were so dry and without sauce to dip in, it was just tough to swallow. Sushi was maybe a 2 out of 4 raging. Dry & too hard.

Loved the food! Ordered to go for lunch and super excited I have a Sarku right by my job. I ordered the extreme habachi served with either white or fried rice. I got the fried rice with the teriyaki chicken. They fill up all the plate for a low price! Love love love. I also decided to give sushi another try, had a bad experience with another restaurant years ago. I ordered the shrimp tempura rolls! LOVED IT! Will be my new fav from now on. I also tried one of my co workers Philadelphia rolls and that was good as well. Loved the flavor and honestly I have no complaints. Thank you.

I'm super happy with Sarku and how close it is to my house. Who doesn't love some cheap sushi?? They have some fun roll options. I usually stick to the basics when coming here for obvious reasons. They've been here long enough to judge them fairly, the workers are much better now. They're fast and friendly. I've gotten a bento box before and while it's good I still enjoy the sushi better. It's good when I'm in a rush and just want something quick for dinner. Not to mention, cheap! It's a big restaurant, lots of seating. I love that it's always clean, they definitely maintain it well for how busy they get. They have tons of sauce options too. The only drawback to this location is the parking lot. Anytime after 4pm on weekdays and all day weekends it's a madhouse! I would definitely just park farther away and be safer. There's some crazy drivers in this area.

This location is new and one of the better Sarku Japans out there. Big windows let in natural light and there's lots of seating. You have ample parking because it's located inside the new Kearny Plaza. The service is fast and the food is prepared well. Good spot for fast hibachi eats and sushi rolls!

Food was fresh and very good. Place is clean and service is friendly. Great spot to eat after having to shop at Bjs next door

This is one of the better Sarkus I've had. Food tastes very fresh and there are nice sized portions. I love the yum yum sauce.

The restaurant is super tiny but had great music playing the whole night. They also have a little convenience section with packaged snacks and drinks which was super cute. My friends and I ordered the 10 piece Huancaina Roll, Leche de Tigre Maki Roll, and the 10 piece Maki Parillero Roll. To be honest the Huancaina Roll didn't have much flavor and it was pretty bland compared to the other two rolls so it wasn't my favorite. But if you love Peruvian Ceviche you're going to LOVE the Leche de Tigre Maki roll. The fish was so fresh and flavorful. The reallllll show stopper was the 10 Piece Maki Parillero roll. It was AMAZING! The sliced beef tataki just melts in your mouth and the chimichurri was just an absolute chefs kiss. I kid you not I could've eaten two orders of just that roll and called it a day. Although the service was a bit slow with ordering and getting the food, I still want to go back and try more of the menu because the menu is hugeeee!

The first roll I got was so chewy and there was so much mushy rice mixed with way too much mayo it was pretty unpleasant. I threw out that roll after trying to eat 2 pieces. The California roll I got was okay, it just tasted petty bland. Like it had been sitting in a fridge premade for hours but I think they made it there so not sure how that happens. I also ordered online but they claimed they didn't have my order when I got there and had to convice them via email receipt that I ordered and waited like 25 mins longer than I needed to while they made it. Otherwise I mean the staff was okay I guess... they didn't do anything overtly offputting. Price is, well, low... so i guess that's why it's an "it is what it is".

They're always rolling out special items and you can truly taste the heart and soul in everything they make. A very homey and welcoming neighborhood gem. *Taiwanese Fried Chicken Bagel $10 *** If you love basil, you'll be happy to know they use fresh basil to make the spread. I happily devoured it and immediately craved more. Unfortunately it's a limited item, so be sure to check their ig stories or dm them to find out the next available date. *Prosciutto Youtiao Sandwich $15 * Crispy youtiao with prosciutto, burrata and pineapple jam. This unexpected combo actually works so well! *Taro French Toast with Boba $16.5 ** If this is your first time here, ORDER THE FRENCH TOAST. I literally get it every time--the milk tea French toast is perfectly brûléed and topped with taro paste, boba, whipped cream, and salted egg yolk bits. All my favorites in one bite. *Taiwanese Braised Pork Belly $16 * Fatty and full of gelatin, giving that sticky-lips feeling after eating it. I love that their lu rou fan comes with a soft-boiled ramen egg instead of a hard boiled one, and the pickled mustard greens on the side are my favorite part. *Taiwanese Milk Crumb Toast $5 New item! We tried this test version of 奶酥吐司, and it was lowkey addictive. The bread pulled apart just like shokupan. So soft and fluffy.

The Korean bacon was ok, but the rice needs work (definitely doesn't reheat well)- lots of rice. The pork chop was better in the past. Oyster soup now a lot more expensive and the menu generally overall more expensive, but same boba French Toast and Takodog.
