Beef with noodles and chicken with rice
    Tommy H.

We ordered a box of beef with noodles and chicken with rice for lunch via uber eats. The food arrived promptly and the bag was stapled shut so that's definitely a plus. The container is different than the one from teterboro so I'm not sure if it's the same size but seems slightly smaller. The food is pretty greasy but tasted good nonetheless. No complaints here for both the meal and delivery service.

Love their chicken teriyaki. I always get it with fried rice and vegetables. Great spot to pick up some lunch and they're always quick.

Chicken and shrimp teriyaki with brown rice (extra chicken). Almost 2 meals worth of food for me.

I get delivery from here all the time. It's a ton of food and the chicken is always super tender. The teriyaki sauce is amazing as well; sweet and tangy mmm! Better chicken than any hibachi place I remember going to. Shrimp and beef are decent as well. I never get sushi cuz why bother with what's probably low grade, generic sushi? Potstickers are alright too. Best fast food chain hands down

This is not in any means "quality" Japanese food. It's food court at the mall Asian food. For what it is, it's fine. Cheap and fast. Good? That's up to you. I am not impressed. The location is the building that was formerly Lamborghini of Bergen County. It's right near National Wholesale Liquidators off of Route 17. I ordered the chicken teriyaki special it was $4.99 and it came with rice and steamed veggies. Also had the dumplings. I was hoping they would be steamed but they were pan fried and did not taste fresh. If you're looking for fast, Asian food then this place isn't terrible. It's OK as long as you have low expectations.

The inside of my mostly eaten Chicken Eggroll. Tasty and it has a kick to it!

I love this Sarku. The employees are fast and the food is fresh! Can't beat a huge lunch for under $6! I always get the chicken teriyaki, but I think next time I'll try the tofu teriyaki. Their chicken egg rolls are pretty tasty too but I think they should only charge $1 for them because they aren't made to order. Ask for extra sauce on the side for no charge. Trust me. Place is clean too.

The food is grilled and made right in front of you fresh which makes a difference. The chicken and shrimp are delicious. They have average prices for the quality of food and amount you receive. I really would not recommend the sushi though. It is just ok nothing that great in my opinion. I would pick Sarku Japan over any regular Chinese spot any day based on the freshness and quality versus the cost. I come here about once a month or so. Get 4 stars because cashier that is sually there is not so customer service friendly lol but it is what it is. Tip. They have a Chicken Teriyaki special with white rice for only $5.36

This particular location was a little less flavorful than other locations that I have visited. Also the portions are much small than most. However I mist say that the drink is much larger than all other locations that I have been to.

3.49 stars. I rounded down. I was surprised to see that there are free standing Sarkus, as I thought this was a mall only fast food joint. I was doubly surprised that this place opened up so close by. This Sarku is located right off of the Essex St. exit of rt. 17. Parking is a breeze, as they have their own parking lot. I only really get one thing from Sarku. Chicken teriyaki with white rice and steamed vegetables. Its only $4.99 for a good amount of food. The quality is meh, but it tastes good every now and then. I haven't really tried anything else from their menu, other than a soft drink, and I don't think I will. Their bento boxes are pricey. The only thing I may try are their California rolls, because other reviewers have written they aren't half bad.

Chicken teriyaki over lo mein, California sushi, shrimp and vegetable tempura and a salad
    Christina S.

Sarku is usually in the malls, but this one is located on its own stand alone building. They offer the usual fried options, sushi, chicken, beef, shrimp, and vegetables teriyaki with or without the extra sauce. When I'm craving chicken teriyaki, this is my go to spot. I usually get the chicken teriyaki with extra sauce over lo mein, California sushi, fried shrimp with vegetable tempura and a salad. I know,I know, it's a lot of food so I do eat it over 2 sittings. The salad is nice and refreshing and sushi is perfect. Shrimp & vegetable tempura are good, but a bit on the heavy side, on some occasions I will remove the breading overall. Chicken with lo mein are very good but also heavy and oily but oohhh soooo good!!! The dinning room is nice and large with plenty of seating. Food is usually ready within 5 minutes after ordering. By no means this is a bad place, but more for a quick meal, not to take a date to.

All across Jersey, ramen chefs are crafting rich broths, house-made noodles, and inventive toppings that delight the senses. Located on State Street in Hackensack, I frequent this establishment numerous times during the year. Ramen Azuma pours out their soul in preparing perfectly the classic Japanese cuisine. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the staff and got an empty table by the window inside their cozy and inviting vibe. Their menu features a wide selection of ramen, curry, and appetizers. I decided on their newest edition--Wonton Ramen and 3 pieces of Fried Chicken. The savory ramen soup was filled with shrimp wontons. Even though they were very thin wonton wrappers with a smaller amount of filling, they tasted consistent with other shrimp wontons from past restaurants, accompanied by Menma Bamboo, Scallions, and Egg. The Fried Chicken was well seasoned. The food overall remained authentic and incredibly flavorful and on point. The portion was very generous. Friendly service, and the price was reasonable. Make sure one comes on an empty stomach.

It's a cute little sushi spot tucked away in a corner near the Walgreen's in Lodi, but also nearby a mainstay in Lodi that could provide potential competition - Ya Food - Zheng's Garden. Not to conflate Japanese and Chinese food together, especially as an Asian-American of Japanese and Korean ancestry - however in the United States, many people who have a hankering craving for "Asian food" certainly may not argue a difference, and that may be key to most people. I've eaten their shrimp shumai and pork dumplings, and honestly they are par-for-the-course; not terrible by any means, but certainly average. Their miso soup is very good - offering nice chunks of tofu in with large pieces of kombu seaweed, as well as their shrimp tempura; but then again, it's VERY hard to screw up miso soup and frying some shrimp. I have yet to try any of their traditional nigiri sushi pieces; but I did notice a bit of lack of variety in their offerings of more traditional forms of sushi compared to the overly-sensationalized and Americanized sushi rolls such as a "Mexican roll", whatever that's trying to be. All in all, so far Yama Sushi has hit me as an average Americanized Japanese sushi spot. I'll definitely come back to try their actual sushi, and I'll revisit my review during that time.

10/10 -- My New Go-To Sushi Spot!…read more I've been on the hunt for a new go-to sushi place since moving to the area, and I've tried plenty of good spots nearby -- but this place absolutely blew me away. Hands down, the best sushi I've had in a long time (maybe ever!), and that's saying something. From the moment I called in my large order, the experience was seamless. The owner was incredibly kind, got everything 100% right, and made the process so easy. When I walked in, I was immediately struck by how clean and fresh everything smelled -- a great sign. They also offer boba (at a really fair price!) and have fun extras like seaweed snacks and unique chips -- super cute and convenient. But the star of the show is the food. Everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. I ordered for myself, my brother, and my mom after a long morning of errands, and we were all seriously impressed. I'm a huge miso soup fan -- I've tried it at nearly every spot in NJ -- and theirs is officially my favorite. Perfectly balanced and comforting. We had: - Sweet potato rolls, Shrimp California rolls - Spicy tuna, spicy crab, firecracker roll - Spicy yellowtail & regular yellowtail - Clear soup, miso soup, and udon soup Every single bite was fantastic. You could taste how fresh everything was -- we genuinely couldn't believe our luck in finding this gem. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive -- truly an A+ experience from start to finish. This will absolutely be a repeat visit for us. If you're in the area and looking for great sushi, you need to make this your next stop. So when an opportunity came up to meet in the vicinity of this restaurant, I brought myself and two guests to experience the poke in person. It did not disappoint! Nestled among a smaller shops in a strip mall off of Market Street (off of North 5th Street), Waikiki Poke & Ramen is a place definitely worth stopping by. There's ample parking in the surrounding area of the strip mall so it's a small walk towards the restaurant. Once you enter you are greeted with an Instagram-able wall, with various colored posted that guests can write and post messages. It was fun reading through them and leaving some as well in the end. The restaurant is small, quaint, and cafeteria style, the counter where the Poké bowl ingredients are visible is well organized and clean. A nice selection of Japanese teas and other drinks are available to enjoy with the meal as well as bottled water. The price is on point for Poké bowl of their size and the Sashimi-ed raw fish, and the vegetables were all fresh and delicious! My guests enjoyed it well. I was so excited to visit the place then I couldn't help myself by letting them know how much I enjoy their food and how many times I've ordered online. I wasn't sure if they understood me because they didn't seem very interested? In any case I still enjoy the food, but I think it might be better to just order it online for me as it is quite a far distance for me to drive to enjoy it in person. Overall, we were able to enjoy our meal slowly as we had much catching up to do.. The shop was not particularly busy during its lunch hour so the food was ready quite quickly, which was impressive. I would rate this as 5.0 for the food but 4.5 for the customer experience aspect. It is a recommendation that they at least acknowledge or interact with people who expresses positively for enjoying their food. Because this is not an open food court situation and it is in a restaurant even after you paid for the food and sat down and eat it it would be nice for them to also interact in some capacity just felt a bit standoffish in my opinion.
