My husband and I always wanted to try this place!! we finally went to try it out... I asked what they recommended from the menu, and the lady told Me that the steak was one of the best, I had it with noodles and rice, my husband had the chicken and same with rice and noodles!! The steak was pretty hard to chew, I had trouble eating but didn't want to complain and send it back, because there's no trust with cooks getting angry and might spit on the food or do something to it! When we got home, two hours later our bodies felt itchy and we both had diarrhea all night our stomachs hurt so bad that we even threw up! This place is a hidden spot , Super friendly staff that are nice about explaining the menu and the different styles of cooking it. This place is spotless and doesn't have a wierd chemical smell but the drive thru is thier bread and butter . Their food is great, the portions aee generous, and service is always prompt and friendly. I am glad that they have kept their prices in check especially with inflation being what it is. We love to eat here. It has a drive thru, and the sever is always patient when we take our time to see what's on the menu. There's such a variety to choose from. From hibachi steak to sushi, they have what you want and fast at Toyko Epress- hence, the name. This is our go-to place for when we want double veggies instead of rice. Currently, we are not eating carbs ( I should say my husband isn't because I should tell the truth), and we say no rice, but there's not a whole lot of options. So we are thankful for a place like this that gives us that option. Tonight, we order the hibachi steak and hibachi chicken. They don't have other sauces except soy sauce the last time we ordered, and tonight, we have to wait a little while longer, but it's a crowd, and it's worth the wait! Yummies! read more

Sadly, I can't say Anything good about this Awful attempt for sushi, The rice was old, unable to pick up without it falling apart. The Calif roll was just sad and the spicy salmon roll was slimy. I fed it to the wild animals. The wasabi was just a small fingernail size portion, one packet of soy sauce , No chopsticks, and the ginger looked like it sat out on the counter for three weeks. My husband and I were driving down Walzem and spotted this gem. I quickly checked out Yelp to see what Tokyo Express was all about because the drive-thru line was packed. And now I know why! After seeing all the positive reviews, I knew we had to check it out. The first time we went, I ordered the chicken and steak combo but got chicken and shrimp instead. Not mad about it at all. The shrimp was the star of the plate--garlicky with a nice bite! Not to be outdone were the veggies. I'll eat zucchini if it's there but never really love it. Tokyo Express's zucchini is an exception. It's tender but not mushy, and it's packed with great flavor. Same goes for mushrooms. I was very impressed with the preparation of this veggie, which held all the great flavors of the sauce. And this is coming from someone who historically doesn't love mushrooms. On our second visit, I ordered the Hibachi steak with noodles. The steak has a very smoky, savory flavor, which I loved. The noodles were very good as well, but I think on my next visit, I'll go back to their fried rice, which I remember preferring. Tokyo Express is a winner, and I highly recommend them for your next dinner. This place is great on its own, but the fact that you can get all this delicious food from a drive-thru kicks up my rating to five stars. read more

CON: Very disappointing at first visit. Yakisoba was bland and precooked, one of the worst yakisoba i ever tasted. Fried rice and mix veggies are alright and eatable. Hibachi beef is also alright, eatable but somewhat chewy like over cooked beef. Everything came out warm temperature except the tonkatsu and the meat lover roll where they cook and make on order. The roll is 3/10, Tonkatsu is 3/10, hibachi beef is 3/10, veggie is 3/10, fried rice 2/10, yakisoba 1/10. This Tokyo Express needs to step up its game or else the buffet next door and Panda Express will take all the customer.
