Going to the mall and getting Sarku Japan was my favorite thing to do with my mom as a kid. I'm so happy to find them now outside the malls without having to deal with the traffic of people. The only downside is the serving of the food has decreased throughout the years but the prices have been rising.

We ordered Sarku on DoorDash at work and it was exactly what I needed it to be. It's cheap, fast and delicious. It was the perfect lunch portion. If you go in with realistic expectations, it's great!

Everytime I go to Sarku, it does NOT miss. I don't know what it is, but the way chicken teriyaki and white rice is made here just does it for me. The chicken is cooked really well and is perfectly portioned alongside the rice! I always leave this business in a great mood and find myself with all my cravings satisfied. The only thing keeping me from rating this place higher is that sometimes the staff comes off as uninviting or rude. Otherwise, this place is a go to staple for chicken teriyaki

My first time even hearing of this place. Pretty sure it's a chain, fast casual I guess is what it would be called. It's located in a outdoor strip mall so parking is plentiful but it does get crowded during lunch time. Enter and exit doors are separate though you can still use both but the entrance door flows into a walkway leading up the counter. The menu is posted above the counter and there is a screen that tells you your order as you are placing to the server. They have bento boxes which salad, dumplings and a few pieces of a California roll. You can also get noodles or fried rice instead of white for a small up charge. They also have rice bowls but I haven't tried that yet. The meats are chicken, beef or shrimp. The bento box is pretty filling. Drinks are fountain soda or they have cans of soda as well as Snapple and bottled water. Good place for lunch.

Well this place is a shit hole...... the employees don't greet you, they don't even say what can I get for you, the food is ehhh compared to other Sarku i definitely won't be back to this one..... after the cashier was holding a soda can to her face I guess because it was sore who knows she put it back !!!!!! In the fridge what the hell man.

I was walking around the Teterboro Landing shopping center after Checking out the big Chick-Fil-A there and saw this Sarku place I never heard of so I give them a try. The place is big and clean and they took my order fast and gave me a buzzer to know when it's ready which took less than I can take a Yelp photo. I ordered Beef Teriyaki and Shrimp Tempura to go. The Shrimp Tempura basically had no taste til you get to the shrimp and the sauce swipes they put on it did nothing to add to it as a complementary or enhancing the flavor. The Beef Teriyaki comes with plan white rice and a mix garden salad. The rice lacks salt at least. The thin beef had some flavoring that was OK and and with the teriyaki sauce helps makes the rice editable. the salad greens had that taste you get when greens have been left out to in room temperature to long. . All in all it was nothing but food from a fast food joint selling itself off as Japanese which may work in Nebraska but not anywhere in proximity to New York City.

#1 Chicken Teriyaki Only w/ half rice & half noodles w/ veggies. It was just under $10. Chicken's dark meat, it's soft, juicy, flavorful.

Cashier kid was friendly. However, the ppl that prep and package your order for pick up could care less. No thank you's or have a great day, nothing. I asked for 3 more extra packets of hot sauce and the guy gave it to me without saying nothing. Don't you hate that? Good thing their chicken tasted good, it made me forget everything.

    Shrimp Bento, Chicken Egg Roll

Went for Coupon Dinner Food - 4/5. Both the egg roll and dumplings were fried well with a crispy skin and a nice bite for the fillings. Salad was pretty average with a ginger dressing. The California rolls were packed well with good rice ratio. Shrimp had a nice level of browning on them but when bitten into, they were a bit flavorless and watery. The sauce was a bit bland and not strong enough to mesh with the shrimps. Service - 4/5. Quick and friendly. Value - 4/5. There are plenty of coupons available at the store and a free egg roll with purchase is common. The food is alright but the price feels a bit high when regarding the quality. The shrimp bento runs at a little above $9 which wasn't bad but wasn't good either. The other protein options seem like a better value but for the shrimp, it didn't feel worth it. Parking - Mall Lot (Free)

The service I found to be on the slower side especially when it came waiting for water and drinks. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful and I love their sake menu- it has so many choices!!! The food menu has a lot to offer. I do however feel like they do whatever they can to potentially upcharge the guest. For example, I honestly do not know any hibachi place that does not offer soup or give you a choice of noodles or fried rice- this place offers steamed white rice for the meal knowing almost everyone is going to pay for upgrade. All of us chose to upgrade, I wound up getting the vegetable fried rice, when my husband and two other friends got the chicken fried rice. There was another family next to us that also upgraded to chicken fried rice (about 3 of them). This place used ONE small chicken breast chopped it up into little pieces for 6 people which I thought was absolutely insane. Even with all this going on- I would be a liar if I said the food wasn't outstanding because it absolutely was- it was easily one of the best hibachi meals I have had in a long time- the quality of the steak was nothing but perfection- the rice and shrimp were mouthwatering good- and the salad was fantastic. I wish my scallops had a little more flavor but I was happy with my combo meal overall. We even ordered the Spicy Tuna Crispy rice app and it was one of the best I have ever had. My meal was also supposed to come with ice cream and they never asked me if I wanted it or brought anything out to me so that was disappointing. The show was ok- typical fried rice heart beating with onion volcano. No shrimp getting tossed into the air to catch or sake squirting though. In my opinion- food outstanding 5 star worthy, but it also needs a lot of work done before this place gets a higher rating.

I'll start by saying the restaurant itself is beautiful. The ambiance is inviting, the restrooms…read moreare clean, and the staff are friendly at first impression, but BEWARE... vultures with a smile. However, my experience left me with some concerns--particularly around pricing and communication. We were a party of one adult and one child, and an automatic 18% gratuity was applied. This caught me off guard, as I typically see that for larger parties. I didn't initially notice it and ended up tipping on top of it, which added to the overall frustration. The bigger issue came with the meal itself. My mini ordered hibachi with scallops from the children's menu, but I was later charged $60 for the dish. When I asked for clarification, I was informed that scallops are not included on the children's menu and that the charge reflected an adult entrée. Unfortunately, this was not communicated at the time of ordering, which would have been helpful in making an informed decision. Olivia also charged me for a "fountain drink" I didn't order. I only ordered a sparkling water and pineapple juice for my child. There were also a few smaller service inconsistencies--for example, I requested sparkling water but was initially served still water before it was corrected. While the staff remained polite, I would have appreciated more transparency and attentiveness throughout the experience. Overall, while the restaurant is aesthetically pleasing, I recommend asking detailed questions about menu items and pricing before ordering to avoid any surprises. For me, the experience did not align with the value received. Olivia pumped me for sure but NEVER AGAIN! I CAUTION ANYONE who wants to patronize this establishment. Extremely high prices for less than mediocre hibachi!

Apparently, the Vegan options undergo cooking on a different side of the stove and with different cooking tools. I enjoy the meal, the Teriyaki sauce isn't necessary. Still, it adds an oily-syrup like texture with a subtle sweetness. The Vegan Chicken is decent and may benefit from an after cooking spritz of water with lemon zest and seasoning in it, particularly for moisture though for any that may not want Teriyaki Sauce though seek flavor. The vegetables are all around quite nice, the cabbage to the meal is sublime. The establishment accepts different forms of payment. There are many seating options as the eatery is in a food court.

The interior is quite small and the tables are packed in rather close together. It is Rutherford, so BYOB is expected, though they do have very nice looking mocktails (which we didn't try). The hostess was very friendly as was our server. We opted for the Chef Tasting menu, mostly so that we didn't have to make too many decisions. It is the most pricy option, but gives you a real taste of what the restaurant has to offer. I will note that they are able to make substitutions for allergy or dietary accommodations. That said, I was unimpressed with the swap of the A5 Wagyu in both courses for me (I forgot to picture Course 5 - Blue Crab Handroll topped with A5 Wagyu, which they substituted with Ebi. I would have preferred a high end fish, which would better match the price point of the Wagyu as well.) I was looking forward to the Blue Crab handroll, but unfortunately it was my least favorite course of the evening, followed closely by the Lobster. On the contrary, the scallop appetizer and sushi were amazing (and I don't usually like scallop sushi at all). The Yellowtail Ceviche is pure perfection. They should also probably point out that anything with the A5 Wagyu, Unagi or Foie Gras should be eaten first (before it gets cold), this was a mis. Overall, the fish is very fresh, the flavor combinations are delightful, and the soy sauce eye dropper was fun. The service was excellent as well. We probably wouldn't order the omakase again, now that we know what we liked and what we would skip. The gelato was a surprisingly wonderful ending to an overall great meal. The price point here makes this a special occasion meal, so we likely won't be back soon.
