Alright. I've been eating from Ho Mei for years. I love Ho Mei. At some point, management changed, but I still continued eating from them. Tonight I ordered late. Sesame Chicken Combination Platter white rice w/o veggies Hot Sauce $0.50 Mustard Sauce $0.50 The food that arrived was: Sesame chicken combo w/ brown rice w/ veggies Mustard sauce Duck sauce Of course, I was a little disappointed, since my requests were either not met/not read. Even so, default rice is usually fried rice, not brown? The icing on the cake was the fly that had been fried onto a piece of my chicken. I could not eat the meal and grubhub was kind enough to compensate me. Sad to lose a place I've ordered from for so long.

Never ordering from here again. Upon almost finishing my plate, this is what I discovered.

Bad service. Told me nothing could be added to the fried rice because it comes prepackaged. That isn't enticing so I canceled the order

RUN DON'T WALK TO THIS SPOT, I'M SO SERIOUS…read more This is the best, most authentic Thai food I've eaten since my vacation to Thailand (Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Koh Samui) with my husband in 2024. I truly can't even name a favorite off the menu because everything I've tried here is elite lol Pad Thai, Massamon curry, pineapple fried rice, tom yum soup. Omg literally just get ANYTHING on the menu and it's gonna be a BANGER. Fast, efficient, and kind staff too. HIGHLY recommend!

I'm being generous with a 3 star rating for this place because some of the food is OK…read more I'll start with good - tom yum soup was decent, egg rolls were pretty good, red curry was OK, oad thai was OK. Not so good - curry puffs were tasteless, fried calamari were meh. Not good - duck salad had dry overcooked duck, green curry with beef was barely edible and had a funky sidekick flavor reminiscent of stale bucket water after the floors were mopped with beef that they threw in there, which was dry and super chewy. Water they serve is straight out of tap and I doubt it's even filtered as it had smell and taste that didn't have any hint of filtration. And a 20% automatic gratuity added to your bill for a group of 5 plus. Had to ask 1 waiter for a check 3 times. Got it finally after asking another waiter. First and last time for me in this establishment. Those posting 5 star reviews probably never had good Thai food. This place doesn't hold a candle to restaurants like Pimaan Thai or Wyckoff Thai. Lots of room here for improvement.

We looked at each other and said, "Let's give it a try for lunch." We're true foodies, never afraid to explore a menu, so of course we ordered a variety of dishes and we were blown away. When we first walked in, we were warmly greeted by the owner, and her staff was incredibly sweet. Their customer service made us feel instantly at home. Since it was lunchtime, we ordered from both the lunch specials and the regular menu. Before the food arrived, we asked the owner what style of Thai cooking they specialize in. She explained that their recipes come from the middle region of Thailand, near Chonburi. Central Thai cuisine is known for its beautiful balance of flavors sweet, salty, spicy, and tangy all working together in harmony. The dishes often have aromatic herbs, rich coconut-based sauces, fresh vegetables, and layered spices, creating food that feels both comforting and vibrant. After tasting everything, we understood exactly what she meant. The flavors were bold yet balanced, fragrant without being overwhelming, and incredibly satisfying. Here's what we enjoyed: Lunch Specials * Pad Khee Mao (Drunken Noodles) * Spicy Basil Sauce * Pad Thai Regular Menu * Tom Yum Goong * Masaman Curry Dessert * Banana Sticky Rice Drink * Thai Iced Tea Every single dish--not just one--was exceptional. The balance of flavors from the central Thai style truly shines through: the brightness of the herbs, the warmth of the spices, the creaminess of the curries, and the freshness of the vegetables. You can taste the care and tradition in every bite. This restaurant deserves to be known and celebrated, and I'm sharing photos and videos so you can see exactly why. We even asked if we could meet Chef Patrick to thank him personally, and he kindly came out to greet us. It was such a thoughtful moment and made the experience even more special. Delicious food, warm hospitality, authentic Thai flavors, and a genuine family feel you simply can't beat this place. We absolutely cannot wait to return!

Crepe? An amalgamation of textures that likely shouldn't exist? Soggy mushy texturally just unappetizing and wet, the bottom of the container had a solid coat of water on it so everything inside was just mushy. Green curry, curry flavor good but that's where it ended for me. The tofu was totally mushy. Lychee juice, I love lychee but this tasted artificial and very watered down. The massaman curry here is insanely creamy and tasty, with a hearty helping of vegetables. We ordered it with tofu, which came in cubes of the soft, unfried variety. Paired with rice, this was a winning dish. The pad woon sen - a savory glass noodle dish - can also be ordered with one's choice of protein. We liked it well enough with the chicken, and found it to be well-seasoned. Our server brought us some hot chili sauce on the side, and the spice lover in me was only too happy to heap spoonfuls of it over everything. Our interactions with servers were...interesting. One of our servers seemed rather terse and cold, while the other hovered a little more than I would've liked. When he saw me taking out my camera, he reached in to take my fork. He used it and his bare hands to rearrange our appetizers, seemingly for the pictures. It was a raised brow moment for us, as was finding that our coconut shrimp neither tasted remotely close to coconut and that it was still frozen in the middle. We pointed this out to our server, who apologized and took it back. But instead of bringing out a fresh plate, it turned out they'd just refried our original pieces, even the ones we'd half eaten. Much as I'd hate to raise alarms for such a small and homely business, we couldn't help but wonder about whether it was sanitary to recook eaten food in their deep fryer. This restaurant has been described in lots of other reviews as a hole-in-the-wall, which feels true. While it's more spacious on the inside than it seems on the outside, there's a smallness and intimacy to the restaurant. The menu is also fairly short and streamlined to a few categories. There's no dedicated parking lot, but we were able to find free street parking without too much trouble.

Clifton can brag on a number of delicious Asian restaurants offering everything from traditional staples to contemporary fusion. Located on a busy Parker Avenue, I've been coming to Clifton Thai for years and stopped today for lunch. The vibe was welcoming and relaxed. It was a special treat to see both owners and their daughter after 2 years. Greeted by Tony of the husband/wife duo team, who takes the time to get to know the regular customers, I was seated immediately by the window. With the brisk temperatures, I started out with the chicken dumpling soup consommé, which consisted of a Clear Broth Soup, Cellophane Noodles, Scallions, and Napa. My main meal was Pad See-Ew with Tofu from their lunch menu with a soda. During my meal, the other owner, Jib (pronounced: yeep), dropped by with their 10-month-old daughter to catch up. The food has the perfect texture, which remains tastefully delicious and authentic using the freshest ingredients. The service was spot on and the price very reasonable. One can't go wrong here if you want to try good Thai food, which I continue to recommend.

I think they were previously in Belleville that's why it's a 973 # (This was the old hot dog place on State Street). We called in a pick-up order. They estimated 30 min was done in 22 min didn't have to wait. There's a public municipal metered Parking across Essex Street or I believe for pick up you can park on side or back of building. Ordered: -Thai Ice Tea (not pictured) -Sm Tom Yum soup w shrimp & mushroom (not pictured) -Thai Dumplings -Shrimp rolls -Spring Rolls -Crispy chicken w/Cashews -Shrimp Fried rice We asked for everything not spicy. The Thai Iced Tea was very good (I kept stretching it by adding lactose free milk & it was perfect it never lost it's flavor) The Crispy Chicken looked like it could have been mushy but it wasn't - it was perfect crisp with perfect sauce adhered and a perfect bite size all fresh vegetables with good crunch not soggy. Both spring roll & shrimp roll were not greasy they were light and flavorful. The shrimp fried was also not greasy and the shrimp in the rice was cooked perfectly not rubbery or overcooked. Dumplings had a nice consistency, nice flavor and were fully stuffed wrapping was light not heavy or too doughy. Did not try the Tom Yum soup w shrimp & mushroom yet but looking forward to it! The decor is very simple and cozy so it feels calming and not overstimulating. It's very quiet so it would be a great place to take your time really savoring every bite and have intimate conversations I also loved how you could choose your spiciness level. When I called in to ask "when you say 'spicy,' does that mean white-people 'spicy' or Asian-level 'spicy'?" They humored me by answering honestly and non-offendedly. Their staff was very accommodating and solution oriented by giving me the spices on the side so I could adjust for myself PROS: their spicy garlic chili oil (made in-house), veryyy addictive. If they bottled it, I'd buy packs of it. Their pad kee mao. I am veryyyyyyy picky about my Thai food but this place is in my top 2 NJ spots for pad kee mao. I can't believe I didn't know about it sooner. CONS: you might have to whisper in hushed tones so the table next to you doesn't overhear your conversation if you choose to dine in (but is that really a con?
