I gobbled a couple of bites down, before realizing I had wanted to take some pictures. Oh well, take my word for it - the sandwich was fabulous. A thick piece of grouper with beautifully blackening on a toasted roll with lettuce, red onion and Jonah's sauce. The fries were hot, the slaw could've used some seasoning. The golf ball sized hush puppy was moist on the inside and crispy outside. Great flavors. Very attentive server. Checked back several times and refilled my tea. It was pricey for lunch - $47 with tip. I don't mind paying for outstanding food!

Cheese grits on the side were above average. Brussels sprouts were just like any bistro Brussels sprouts ever (man, I wish this trend would die, but I keep ordering them hoping to be surprised.) The place was PACKED (as usual) but the staff were friendly and attentive. For me, however, this is expected in any restaurant. Therefore: 3 stars for decent - if unimaginative- food and good service. Will not come back unless there is no line ... albeit an unlikely scenario.

I'd never heard of cob smoked anything before and this opened my eyes! They actually smoke the bacon with corn cobs. It offers a delicious and hearty taste to your perception of bacon. The applewood smoked bacon is also a standout choice! The sausages are also wonderful too and deserve your attention. The Jalapeno cheddar sausage is spicy for sure. If you are sensitive to spicy heat, I'd say just order the smoked sausage. You cannot go wrong with that. The staff are as personable, friendly and know their products. They are helpful with the number of servings and how many pounds you need to accomodate. They package everything in a swift fashion and you know everything is fresh! We went to Sass for to main reasons: 1. It was the second best in reviews and 2. It was one of the very few places opened on a Sunday. ALMOST EVERYTHING is closed on a Sunday here in Thomasville! The customer service was great and the food was on point! It had rich flavors and the portions are bigger than most places. At the end we were so full we couldn't have the dessert I wanted. Very southern food and the music was awesome (Frank Sinatra and the likes) the bathrooms are reasonably clean and the manager or owner? Always checked every dish to make sure it was good so that was nice to see. I would go back but next time I'll order smaller portions! Btw, the Shrimp and Grit is great but I would put a little less sauce on it and the green beans with mushrooms was the best I have ever tried here in Tally/Thomasville! read more

If you are married or have a boyfriend, I would definitely NOT recommend this place. A woman who said she was an owner came to our table and she was all over my husband. My husband said she had a strong smell of alcohol on her breathe. The waitress kept touching his shoulder and asking if "HE" needed anything else. I have never been treated so rudely at a restaurant. The owner should of been paying more attention to the food because it was awful. We will not be going back there EVER again and we will let all of our friends know exactly what happened. My husband even asked me what was wrong with those people. How sad that you can't even go out and enjoy yourself with your husband without being bothered by cougars!!! read more

Called for reservation. Once we checked in with hostess, she looked surprised and shuffled the table arrangements around last minute - seated us in the back corner away from the front. Left us menus. Then for 20 minutes not a single person came by to serve us or ask for order. Plenty of waiters walked by and gave dirty looks, try to flagged one over but he just gave us the "one sec" hand signal and then hurried to another table to check on them. Otherwise was refused service. Walked out after 30 minutes. Hate to say it but if we looked like the rest of the crowd at the restaurant, probably would had been treated like human beings. The most amazing restaurant! Service is amazing, but that food! Fried green tomato appetizers - could make a meal of those. The sweet tea is perfect! We had Po Boys this visit but could have easily been happy with anything they have. The grouper was light and flaky, the bread was fresh and not dense. Shrimp also was amazing. Fabulous Food, Wonderful Service and Beautiful Atmosphere A group of us visited Sass and loved every thing we tried. The fiery Cajun Shrimp was AMAZING! We also had the pimento cheese dip and we loved every bite of it. For dinner I had the shrimp Etouffee and loved it. I had it with the dirty rice and it was great together. We love making the drive through beautiful downtown Thomasville. We found this gem off the beaten brick path. Well worth the short little drive down to the railroad tracks. This certainly cranked up the bill. I had the pork chop, which was really small despite the declared weight and the price of $45. The taste was good, but didn't really impress me. The daily blue had skin that was charred, but the fish part was good. My daughter wasn't impressed with that. The chicken sandwiches, however, were a hit. Go figure. All but the daily blue ordered a side dish. Two had the mashed potatoes, which were good, I ordered the side with stringy cheese, prosciutto, peaches, and sliced peppers. No flavor. I get the bill and there is a $9.40-something charge in there for a "non-cash transaction". Also, my two drinks were charged a dollar more than the menu price. With everything there at a premium price (a larger and much better pork chop can be had at St James for more than $10 less - with sides!), everything is a la carte, and a silly charge for not having cash means I'm done with Liam's. The place where I discovered my first and favorite scotch, a love for unique cheeses, and great cooking techniques has been outdone by at least one local competitor while increasing prices and serving less. It's a shame, but they never seem to be full, so instead of improving value and delivery, they've gone to increasing prices.

Henderson's offers breakfast, as well as lunch and dinner. They're open from 6 am - 7:30 pm, and are closed on Sunday, as is most of Thomasville. The breakfast offerings include sandwiches, breakfast in a cup and plated meals. The prices range from $3 - 7, with a few higher priced offerings that include steak. Lunch and dinner options include burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups, chicken tenders, quesadillas and wings. Most options range between $5 - 8, with a few options up to $16. Henderson's is very budget friendly. Service is pleasant and swift. The dining area is fairly a no-frills interior including long tables, stackable type padded chairs and pastel-colored beadboard walls decorated with some large Grateful Dead framed posters. We ordered a burger and a Philly style Cheesesteak. You order at the counter and they call you when your meal is ready to be picked up. Both were served with crinkle cut fries. The food was fast and filling. I preferred the Philly style Cheesesteak, which was juicy and deliicous! The burger bun was a little dried out. The fries were crispy and hot. If you want a budget meal, you cannot beat Henderson's! Next time, we plan to try a couple breakfast options.

It was really sweet with the syrup and cream cheese frosting they included to add to it. Service was super attentive and the owner came out a couple of times and made the rounds to check on his customers. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and the experience. We plan to go back because it's a pleasant country drive to get there. Definitely could combine it with picking up some cheeses from Sweet Grass Dairy, baked goods from The Bread Wagon and fresh produce from the Farmer's Market in Thomasville.
