Came here for lunch with neighbors from Golden Vista and the 13 of us were seated at a long table after we each ordered our meals and got our drinks. They have a self serve drink area that features coffee, water, 2 kinds of iced coffees, Coke products on the soda fountain, lemonade, & 4 kinds of iced teas. It was busy but we were still able to visit & enjoy everyone's company. The restaurant is well lit, nicely decorated, & clean. A local business, it has a family atmosphere & feel to it & the staff is very accommodating & friendly. I ordered the Mixed Berry Salad & got a large Green iced tea. The salad was very good & I'm glad I got the half portion because it was just the right amount of food for me. Certain food items came with a mini red velvet cupcake. I think it's to entice the diner to but an item from their bakery counter. Very good food from a mom & pop place...you can't go wrong! Sassy's is one of my boys favorite breakfast spots. We come here often and love all of their French toasts (banana bread is my favorite), their yummy biscuits and gravy (Friday and Saturday only) and their hotcakes (for reals, try these!). They also have desserts and sometimes banana bread (super amazing banana bread!). They have great staff and a nice size seating area. Oh! And don't forget to sign up for their text alerts! I've gotten a few BOGO's and it's convinced me to come over (although I wasn't that hard to convince lol). Lady was really rude. I have never been here before and thought I could walk in and order something. She was like "oh yeah the restaraunt has been closed and turned into an event venue, its not like you can tell." Then yelled to the back canoli. Girl please , even if I could order online or had an event, I wont be back here for that attitude. The canolis were good though. Attitude is a no. And before you reply and say that you posted the changes on social media, OK I dont use that, all your pics on google show different, & the attitude is not something I want. You'd be surpised at how many people DONT use social media. Theyre just looking up on Google, Bakery Mesa and yours is the first sponsored hit. Might wanna change that if walk in customers are a problem instead of giving people who dont even know the attitude. I was surprised at the setup, you order from the counter and a menu board like fast food, and then they bring it to your table. The coffee and soft drinks are also self-service. This isn't a problem, I was just expecting a restaurant-style. I've been here three times now and everything I've tried has been very good. I was surprised at how good their sausage gravy is. They really put a lot of sausage in their gravy. It's been pretty busy on the Saturdays that we have gone there, but we arrived early enough to avoid the wait. read more

Went to this Sassy's café bakery two days one right after the other The restaurant seemed like an a okay Setting The first day my food breakfast did not seem very warm so I mentioned it To the lady I presume is the manager before I paid which I had to pay before I ate on the second day she commented that they might've been busy. I ordered my breakfast meal and checked the breakfast potatoes which seemed warm and then the eggs and toast were hardly warm! When another lady came to the table and I motioned to her, I told her about the breakfast and she said what would I like and I told her well maybe something from the bakery so she said she was going to talk to the manager. When she came back, she said that I could have one cookie on my way out the door and I believe that I said one cookie! Well why can't I eat it here while I'm at the table is what I then said? I told her I presume the manager lady that I wanted the one chocolate chip cookie eventhough I saw another sandwich cream cookie So after she had put it in the bag I said could I just get the cream sandwich cookie and she said oh well they're four dollars and the chocolate chip cookie is two dollars so we would have to charge another two dollars! And this was supposed to be the compensation for my meal! If you Like A Warm breakfast then I would not recommend this café bakery! read more

The caprese sandwich is my favorite ! I love getting a tiny cupcake with lunch. The restaurant is very busy during lunch service and people are , by nature, pigs and it's obvious because the self service drink station was a disaster, tables were left unbussed, and there were napkins and table ware on the floor. Being used to Las Vegas, one can travel across town, to and fro, then back again in less than an hour. In Arizona getting from my house to the other side of town would take two hours or more, depending on traffic. You need more than one place to give dedication too. Many cupcake businesses have odd and unique hours. So when I was in the neighborhood, this was the go too shop! The smiling faces always brought me back here. The dedication that this small company provides to the community was unbeatable too. Many small diners and bakeries would never have special needs employees on the payroll. That's not the case here. Many many employees have the chance to prove that they can achieve their dreams too by being included in society despite their efforts being not as strong as someone else's. Many believe that individuals with disabilities are powerful and have nothing to offer society. This is not so. This company provides a place for them to grow and share their unique abilities with the world. Thank you for caring about those that are different in the world. You are making the world a better place one individual at a time. On to the most important point. The advantages that cake offers to the world. How can some flour, eggs, and frosting really be the answer to end all. It's the love that goes into each cake. That specialness baked into every little cake can make you happy and smile all over. Aside from cupcakes and cakes stop in for some "real food choices," they make a mean sandwich. During one of my many visits here, never have I been treated with such compassion and joy. I came here after hearing about the cinnamon rolls. I got one of them for my boyfriend and I also got 6 cupcakes. I loved the unique and fun cupcake flavors. Especially the cookie dough. All of the flavors were tasty and well made. I think it would be great if there was a discounted price for packs of cupcakes. I've seen this at most other places and while the treats were really good I had sticker shock when paying for them. Needless to say, it was a special treat and they're lasting me a long while. I had my first Sassy' s breakfast two weeks ago and I ordered it again today as soon as I got home from dialysis. I was starving and I knew their burrito grande would satisfy me. When I got it the first time it was nice and hot, the salsa they gave me wit it was perfect.i also ordered the French toast carrot cake it was unbelievable and it lasted me two days. I love a good bakery. Sassy is wonderful. I went to try a sampling of baked goods it was lunch time and quite busy. Staff is friendly and courteous. I got a cupcake, brownies and cookies to share with family. We thoroughly enjoyed them all. The death by chocolate cupcake was delicious. The cookies and cream brownie was gobbled up. The menu is al a carte & expensive. I tend to not support an establishment that nickel and dimes the patron. In addition, the staff in both the front and back of the house had no idea whether they could charge for a side of breakfast potatoes or whether the kitchen could make a dish with egg whites or put bacon on the side. We stood at the counter for 20 minutes. Menu items, pricing, and service all need improvement. We left. Decided to take my son to brunch today and to try a new spot. We looked at the menu and were excited to try Sassy's. We paid 31$ for a panini, kids meal, two drinks, and a cupcake. My panini came out burnt. Pretty pricey to have the food be almost inedible :( Edit: I did wait in the long line to tell an employee about my sandwich, but with a fussy toddler in my arms holding his Togo food, a diaper bag, and the burnt sandwich, I ended up just giving up. Spent $55 on a custom order for a three layer strawberry shortcake for my son's 18th birthday. Me: The cake looks like it's leaning. Sassy's: it's not going anywhere. There's a dowel down the center. Just drive safely. Long story short, the cake was too top heavy and did fall over; BUT tasted really good. The 3 stars are for the cake which was good tasting but not pretty to look at. read more

This bakery is a place you need to try, especially if you're a fan of desserts and all things Food Network. They were in the Holiday Baking Championship on the Food Network. What's good there? I tried the chocolate covered cheesecake. It was sweet and delicious. The chocolate was drizzled over it. The mint chocolate brownie was really good. We ordered a couple of s'mores brownies, those were liked. We didn't order whole cakes, but what we saw on display looked great. What could use improvement: the piña colada cupcake was a little bit of a disappointment because it was dry, small, and it was $4. We were told they don't always have them. The men's bathroom looked really nice with the paint, flooring, fixtures, etc, but they were out of TP, and the urinal was broken. It was pretty, but functionally, it needed just a little work. The staff should be trained to advise that if you are ordering 8 things, you should just order 12 because we found out after we ordered our 8 things and went back and order more that we wasted $12 because we weren't told about the discount at 12 items, and we got someone else taking the order the 2nd time. What we didn't try: we didn't try their breakfast, unfortunately, so I can't critique the food. We also didn't try any of their cookies or pies. read more

So we come here again. This time I ordered a combo with tomato soup and half a spicy-beef sandwich. The tomato soup did not taste like tomato soup. I like tomato soup, but this was very...odd. I didn't really like it. To their credit, management allowed me to change it to a full sandwich order and refunded the price difference. I genuinely appreciate a business that makes customer satisfaction a priority. So bonus points there. The spicy beef sandwich was OK. Not great, but OK. It didn't have as much meat as the philly did last time, and it had a tremendous amount of lettuce. I probably had half the lettuce fall out onto the plate (enough for a small salad), and it was still a lot of lettuce I was eating. And the "aioli" seemed more like mayo to me (I would have them hold it if I were to order that again). I would rate the sandwich as two stars, and the soup was less than that. However, I stand by my previous review of the philly, and and they definitely get extra credit for customer service. read more

Great service and food comes out quick. Initially I thought prices were high but considering the amt of food you get they are reasonable. We have gone twice now. The ham and Swiss was loaded with ham could only eat half of it. The chicken salad on a croissant was loaded with chicken salad that was so creamy and good. I had to take half the chicken salad off the croissant so I could pick it up and eat like a sandwhich. I was able to finish this one off but was so full afterwards I went and took nap. My husband had SWChicken salad....he ended up taking half home for dinner... and he is big eater. Our. 2nd trip he got the quiche and devoured it. Desserts are very pricey. What changed my mind was that, while breakfast is served all day, their overhead sign changes, so I was handed a small well-worn and torn menu if I wanted to order breakfast. It kinda put me off because I'm all about details enhancing the dining experience, and not replacing the ratty-looking menu seemed to be a big detail to overlook. Their sandwich selections looked good and I settled on the turkey-cranberry. It was a good size -- almost too much for me. It had plenty of turkey and a flavorful layering of a cranberry-mayo mix. The bread was very good, but there was so much of it that it almost overpowered the rest of the sandwich. A nice touch was the small red velvet cupcake that came with the sandwich. Sassy's offers a variety of baked goods, so I made myself a note to go back and try some of those. read more
