If I could give a honorable number to start, it would be a negative ten... every time we go, they treat you just like we are a burden. The fact that we are spending over $200 on their sushi and they give us something that my son does not like this is the first time ever that we actually ask for them to remake it. We literally have dealt with the wrong orders all the time and that is partially my fault. I would never recommend going to the food shelf. Amazing person public service is this word as it smells good... we have been there for over 10 years and this is the worst transition of I have ever seen... This place is just straight trash. We celebrated our sons 13th birthday here with about 15 friends, all of our guests enjoyed the meal and they even put on a fun birthday celebration song! Solid sushi place. Was up in Upland for the day dropping my friend off at a local car place. We did all you can eat, and got a mix of rolls and sushi. Overall, it was solid, which an adequate rice to fish proportion. The hot dishes such as the miso soup, fried calamari, and gyozas were excellent as well. This place wasn't too busy. We were able to be seated right away. First impression was not too good. We waited at the entrance to be seated and the waiter that saw is told us we can sit at the corner table and pointed at it. Maybe I'm traditional but I'm more used to being lead to my table. We then got the menus to mark what we wanted to order. I noticed there were only two rounds. Typically sushi restaurants give 3 rounds in my past experience. This didn't bother me though since I never make it past the second round due to over ordering. Our orders didn't come correct. I think they had us mixed up with other tables. One of the waitress mentioned that the wrong table number was written down. Some orders came to us accidentally when it was meant for a different table. Overall, not a place I would highly recommend to a friend. It was good food but far from great. The tuna tasted like rubber, the yellow tail was still frozen like ice, and our waters were not often refilled. The only reason I gave them two instead of one star was because their customer service was pretty good. They apologized for mistakes and were pretty nice. read more

Didn't even have a chance to eat here because I came in with my two year old and one of the waitresses stopped me saying they don't allow outside food. Typically when I've dined at sushi restaurants with my toddler it isn't a huge deal to bring in a happy meal but they immediately turned me away. Finding this sushi spot was the best thing I have ever done in the 5 years I have lived in upland. It is by far my favorite restaurant. I'm not kidding, you must go here. Here we are driving home after spending 1.5 hours in the restaurant and with still hungry tummies and my husband reminding me that this place is an AYCE scam just waiting our customers to leave instead of eating more. After 1.5 hours we never even finished round one! Voiced our issues with management about needing to get back to our sitter and he deflected blame onto only having the two best chefs and that there are no others available. How about not seating all your tables if you don't have the support?! How about the customer always being right or offering a basic apology?! Been coming to this place for years and have always left here feeling over fed and happy. The fish always tastes as fresh as could be. Service is always great. I've never had to wait for service and they're always standing by ready to help. I don't know how it could get any better. My 2 favorites are the Cajun Tuna Roll and the Magnolia Roll. Tony and his staff were on point tonight! We took our daughter to Magic Mountain today and she requested Sushi on the way home. We yelped it and found Sato Sushi with 4.5 and figured we give it a try. It was well worth the money. The rolls were amazing and perfectly prepared. Tony greeted us as we walked in and promptly got us drinks. Soon the food arrived. Dragon Roll was 5 's, Escalar rolls was perfect and the sauce was delicious, caterpillar roll was great, my salmon skin hand roll was just as good. Our other daughter who doesn't like sushi ordered the steak teriyaki bento box and I tried a little bit of it as well, it was spot on. Gyoza was great and the beverages were iced cold. It was our first time ordering from this place. We did delivery through Grubhub. We received our food on time, no complications with delivery. As soon as we opened the take out boxes, the coloring of the fish was off. We ordered 4 items, one crunch roll, one salmon hand roll, 6 piece mackerel sashimi and one Aloha roll. The crunch roll tasted stale. The salmon roll tasted stale. The 6 piece mackerel sashimi was stale, and the coloring was off. Looks like they tried to hide it with excessive amounts of sliced lemons in between each cut. The owner's excuse was they soaked the mackerel in vinegar. What? Lastly the Aloha roll was stale and coloring was off. We right away called the restaurant to express our disappointment with our order and to request a refund. The lady who answered the phone was extremely rude, she raised her voice at me and kept talking over me. She was very impatient with me and kept arguing with someone else in the background. Very unprofessional. As soon as I got upset with her treatment someone took over and asked me what was wrong with the order. I didn't catch his name, I'm not sure what his title is there but all I know is he wasn't authorized to make the final decision but was able to mediate the conversation between me and the rude lady and owner in a professional manner. He suggested I call Grubhub to request a refund and that he too would do the same to make things right. I'm thankful for that employee! I suggest Sushi Maru, Sushi Takumi, Sushi Shiro or Kishi Sushi. These are all better options than Sato Sushi. read more
