My fave dim sum place!! Best to get there before or at opening to not wait for a table. We strolled in at 10AM on Memorial Day weekend and were seated immediately for our table of 15. Some tables get iPads to order, others paper menus to mark off and submit--not sure if there's a method to which table gets what. iPad ordering makes things really easy, especially if you decide to order more food. Food rolls out SUPER quickly if you get here around opening. I love this place for their flavorful, consistently delicious food. Must-get dishes include the baked custard buns, shrimp rice rolls, siu mai, and salted egg fried pumpkin.

I originally came to Fusion Delight because of the purple interior. Seriously. The giant lotus chandeliers, the deep violet lighting, the old-school banquet hall atmosphere - it immediately reminded me of the large Cantonese restaurants that used to define family dining in the Bay Area years ago. But after eating here during a packed weekend dinner service, I realized the real attraction is not the decor. It is the operational consistency. The dining room was completely full, with a long line of people still waiting outside. Under that kind of pressure, many large Chinese restaurants start losing control somewhere: fried dishes soften, stir-fries lose wok hei, food arrives unevenly, service becomes rushed. Fusion Delight somehow keeps the system together. And what impressed me even more was that the staff never became impatient. Even with the restaurant running at full capacity, the servers stayed friendly, patient, and organized. No chaos, no attitude - just steady service under pressure. That is not easy in a restaurant this size. The Mongolian beef was the first thing that stood out. Instead of thin slices hidden under sauce, the beef here is cut unusually thick and long - some pieces nearly two inches. Thick-cut beef is risky because once overcooked it immediately turns tough, but here the meat stayed tender while still carrying proper wok sear and caramelization. That tells me the kitchen understands heat control and timing. The crispy pork intestines were even more impressive. These were clearly braised first, then fried before the final stir-fry. The outside kept its gelatin-rich texture while the inside still carried fat and aroma, but without the unpleasant odor that ruins this dish at weaker restaurants. Even people who normally avoid intestine dishes could probably eat this version comfortably. That level of cleaning and pre-processing matters. The braised lamb with skin was another old-school banquet dish done correctly. The lamb was soft without collapsing, while the skin still retained structure. More importantly, the prep work was meticulous -- no gamey smell, no rough trimming, no shortcuts. The sea cucumber and pork tendon dish also showed strong banquet-kitchen fundamentals. The pork tendon had clearly been oil-expanded beforehand, giving it that proper soft and elastic texture instead of rubbery chewiness. The sea cucumber still retained bite and structure. The Singapore-style rice noodles and scallop egg white fried rice were textbook Cantonese banquet staples. The rice noodles stayed dry and separated while still carrying wok aroma and oil fragrance. The scallop egg white fried rice looked simple, but every grain remained distinct and lightly coated without clumping together. That level of consistency under volume is difficult. Even the red bean dessert soup at the end was handled carefully. The red beans still held their shape instead of dissolving into paste, while the sago remained fully intact and translucent. Most restaurants stop caring once dessert leaves the kitchen. Fusion Delight clearly does not. And honestly, that may be the best way to describe this restaurant overall. Fusion Delight is not trying to be trendy. It is not trying to become minimalist fine dining. It is not trying to be social-media bait. This is a high-volume Chinese banquet restaurant operating with old-school Cantonese production discipline. Hot food arrives hot. Fried dishes stay crisp. Wok hei survives peak hours. Plating still looks intentional during a packed dinner service. That kind of consistency is harder than people think. And somehow, inside a giant purple dining room filled wall-to-wall with families, they make it work. - Dr. C Purple room approved. Wok heat calibrated. Banquet discipline detected. Consistency at scale = correct.

Wow they are so efficient for seating a line of 100 people (or more) at opening time on the weekend. I kid you not, this place has a lonnnnnnnnggggggg line. Am i going to get in? I got there 10 mins till opening and I was already maybe 70th in line. surprised how they managed all that SUPER fast. table for you, table for you, table FOR YOU! there are XLARGE tables too, like my group was about 15 people and we all seated comfortably and spaced out. lots of dim sum choices. some are super cute for kids like a mango ducky jello.

We came on a weekend for dimsum and skate for over an hour. The inside is bright and grand, seating is comfortable. Service was on the slower side as they do get quite busy. Dim sum was not bad but also not exceptional. Standard for a dim sum place but doesn't stand out taking into account of the price.

We had a great meal here! The food was fresh, flavorful, and served hot. Every dish we ordered was well prepared, especially the seafood and clay pot dishes. The portions were generous, and the ingredients tasted fresh. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was quick even though the restaurant was busy. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Cantonese food.

A friend invited us to Dim Sum at Fusion Delight. They open at 11am and we arrived at 10:40, way too early. We sat in the van and chatted for a bit until 5 minutes before scheduled opening. They were already open for guests, so we were able to enter as soon as we walked across the parking lot. As we entered, we were greeted and asked how many in our group and what type of tea would we like. There were 3 of us and we were guided to a table in the middle of the restaurant. There was an electronic ordering pad on the table, so we passed it around and selected some of our favorite dishes. We later saw other tables using paper ordering sheets which I think I would have preferred. What'd we order? Plenty! Pea Sprouts with Fungus - 3 - Not one of my favorites but it appeared to be okay. Rice Noodle Rolls in XO Sauce x 2 - 5 - Yes, we got two orders! Tons of flavor; tender noodles; great chew. Salt & Pepper Tofu - 3 - Good tofu; not so much salt nor pepper. Pan Fried Country Style Lotus Root with Minced Fish - 3 - first time that I've had Lotus Root "sandwiches" Rice Noodle Roll (Beef) - 4 - If the sweet soy had been sweeter, it could have been a 5. Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce - 3 - met but did not exceed the standard and I am a Chicken Feet FREAK! Pork Dumpling with Peanuts - 4 - Was Decent Dried Scallop & Pea Sprout Dumplings - 3 - There's Dried Scallop in here? Pan Fried Green Peppers - 5 - These non-spicy peppers were stuffed with shrimp paste and then doused in black bean sauce. Yumm! Siu Mai w/ Shrimp - 5 - Nice and meaty. Sugar Donuts - 4 - On point! There were a couple of items that we ate before I remembered to take pictures of them. Ooops! Would I go again? Yes.

Can't believe I haven't left a review for FD since I come here pretty regularly! Even on weekdays the parking is tough cos it's so busy. But luckily the mall lot is big so you might just have to walk a bit. The wait is the most challenging thing here. Weekends are near impossible. Even week day lunches are tough. And you gotta book them way out for Chinese new year! Food is always very good and service is very efficient. The sea bass is a must here, I also like all their noodle dishes. And for dim sum, they are really one of the best in SL and surrounding areas. Can't go wrong. Inside always looks nice and clean. Great vibe for big family dinners.

Such a yummy time! The staff is quite attentive. Our empty dishes were taken away almost instantly and your hot water pot was never empty for long. Our party of 5 was able to snag a tallness at opening and place our order in early. Everything came out hot and delicious. My favorites being the shrimp dumplings. The filling is quite large and the dumpling skin is quite sturdy. You're able to grab one without it falling out or ripping. The wrapped is also isn't over rubbery, it was a happy surprise to find a yummy texture! Another hit was the cha sui gok, flaky pastry dough with a savory bbq pork filling. Normally my favorite at yum cha is the bbq pork buns with a pineapple crust top but this was perfection as well! Would recommend the steamed dumplings as well as the chicken feet! Meaty and piping hot :)

My family and I hadn't had this place since 2017. Since then, they have undergone a huge remodel and the place is far brighter and their menus are upgraded. Meanwhile, it was my partner and his family's first time trying this restaurant. Service was quite rough for a Monday dinner. The restaurant was 1/3rd filled but they took a while to check in with us and take our orders. It was tough to get the attention of a server and after someone helped us, he called for someone else. When the second person came, I told her I was ready to order and then there was another wait for the third person who would finally take our order. I had already written out the 6 dishes we were planning to order for the group and they seemed to be missing several veggies, so all the meat dishes seemed to only be cooked with string beans as that was all they had. That eliminated 3 of the dishes I wanted to order. Pea sprouts 5/5, perfectly stir fried. So simple, yet so delicious steamed chicken with black fungus 4/5 - Delicious but it did not come with black fungus... they didn't tell us that and so the dish arrived with just meat... confused as to why we weren't informed and it was still the same price when it's missing a vital part of the dish! stir fried green beans with black cod 5/5 - very well made! the fish was so deep fried beef chow fun 5/5 - well made and standard chef fried rice - also well made and standard Outside of them missing several vegetables and ingredients in their dishes and the slow service; the food and way it's cooked has certainly skyrocketed in quality!

The food is fine, but the wait time is crazy and not worth it. For so far north of the east bay, I'm sure the food is nice, but why was our wait 2 hours! We had a larger party of 9, but we waited from 12:30 until 2:30. It was a Saturday during winter break, so maybe during other months they would have a shorter wait? We had to get some chicken from Safeway to deal. Porridge and dessert egg buns were good, but overall other food was not special enough.

Very busy but thankfully got a big table for 14 people. Just gotta wave down the waiters as they are busy but easy and quick service for food as you can send in your order via the tablet. Everything was yummy. Bathrooms are clean and great clean ambiance. Good set up and always a nice stop for family visiting

Came back another year and it's still the same quality, yet always a long wait during lunchtime especially on weekdays. It's so busy you have to get a number and wait until your number is called. The hosts are communicative with servers on which tea to serve for each table once we're seated. We ordered Siu Mai, Beef Balls, Pork and Peanuts Dumpling, Pumpkin Sponge Cake, Fried Shrimp Dumplings (Spicy), and Pan-fried rice noodle w/ beef and bitter melon. The sponge cake had less pumpkin filling, so it was meh. The rice noodle was the most delicious one, yet oily. Fried shrimp dumplings took longer to arrive, yet were moderately spicy due to the spices. I started sweating after one bite while my mom ate like nothing happened lol. When I went home with the leftovers, my habit of checking the filling inside the fried dumpling was a blessing because I found a silver metal strand (approximately 1 cm long) inside the shrimp. Too bad I didn't take a picture. It would've been dangerous for elderly people and children to consume. So please check your food before eating. There are a lot of smokers outside that you can smell through the entrance every time the door is opened. They should be called the Chainsmokers Area. Also, expect to hear loud conversations in Cantonese, so not good for first dates, but good for weddings and family gatherings. Best to come after 1 pm to beat the crowds to try their fusion dim sum.

Between the two of us, we ordered a whole Hainan chicken -- knowing that we'd have enough leftovers for dinner later that evening, as well as a baked fish fillet over rice. Like all baked entrees, you should expect to wait around 20 minutes or so for the dish to be prepared. If you anticipate being hungry during the extended wait, I'd recommend ordering some snacks as well, like popcorn chicken or some curry fish balls. The baked fish fillet here is absolutely delicious. If you enjoy Korean corn cheese, this dish feels like corn cheese over rice, with a perfectly crispy fish filet on top, smothered with a white cream sauce. This dish is incredibly rich and each bite feels like a warm hug. You'll definitely be in the mood for a nap after finishing this dish. The Hainan chicken here is probably some of the best in the Bay. The chicken skin has the gelatinous texture of well-prepared Hainan chicken, and the chicken itself is incredibly moist and tender. The chickens they serve up are absolutely massive and a whole chicken should comfortably feed a family of four. The ginger scallion sauce on the side could use a touch of salt, but that's just my personal preference for things to be a tad saltier. Overall, if you're craving Hong Kong diner food, Baby Cafe is a great option in this part of town. I would definitely stop by again for lunch.

There's usually a pretty good line right by the register, so this place is pretty well known by the Asian locals. Shrimp Wonton Noodle Soup ($16/2*) First outing here I sat for lunch and tried this. Surprisingly disappointing seeing how busy and popular this place is. The wontons were okay, decent flavor with a strong sesame oil presence. But they weren't that plump and luxurious, just seemed like homemade/amateur versions. Which is fine, except given the nicer restaurant feel, I just expected something more elevated. The noodles were fine, super thin egg noodles that had a nice QQ. BUT their broth was so bland and unremarkable that it kinda ruined the whole experience. I couldn't even taste/detect the protein that made up the stock, just tasted like murky liquid to me. And zero condiments on the table, so I just ate the wontons and the plain tasting noodles cuz the broth couldn't offer anything to the noodles. Womp womp. And their bowl of choice is very weird to eat from. Super tall bowl that if you leave a spoon in there it will sink and be submerged for you to fish out...in piping hot liquid. If I would have reviewed this place just on this one visit, then it surely would have been a sub 3* rating. But I knew I couldn't leave my impression with that one lone visit. Roast Duck - Half ($20/4*) Came back for some take-out deli items and I was handsomely rewarded. Total 180 experience from the soup outing. Their ducks here are slightly more expensive than most others for the area. But it is still worth it imo. They cut it with good skill and even for a take-out box they present it nicely, with the shape of duck still somewhat intact. The skin is not crisp at all but it is very well rendered. Some pieces were not that salty at all but some other pieces are well seasoned, which I thought was strange. But overall a very solid roast duck is to be found here. There's also a big scoop of these tiny beans that are slightly sweet almost like baked beans just not as gloopy. But the bean texture is very al dente, almost crunchy, which I found very strange. Macao Roast Pork w/ Rice ($19/4.5*) This is crazy good...I'll even say special. Super seasoned pork belly is roasted til the skin gets crisp...like chicharon status, except it is just a very thin layer of crispness. So the balance between the sturdy crunch and juicy flavorful meat was practically perfect. It is definitely on the salty side, almost the same intenseness as eating Spam with white rice, but white rice offsets those salty components beautifully. And they garnish this massive plate with perfectly blanched gai lan (Chinese Broccoli) and some other pickled greens that add a nice sweet and tangy component. So between the decadent pork, white rice and diverse greens offerings just made this a complete one stop shop that could make a regular out of me. There's also a Share Tea next door so I've got a harmonious tandem going on here. Lucky Ducky Me yassss!

My mom's friend Uncle Billy introduce to his friend back at his home last year I remember it was very friendly to meet him and his wife. Everything the atmosphere was brand new and very clean even though last time probably I rate 5 out of 10 (5 and why? Because last time it is really messy and there's a lot of things happening they didn't open their private secret entrance so I am glad they didn't.) Probably this is my aunt's favorite restaurant and I remember I came across here with my aunt and uncle with my grandpa last time I went there. (I just remember this when my grandpa before he lost his memory I don't remember the actual time) Meanwhile the food arrived and it was quick enough to have some good meals one of the best is the wild rice with some Lap Cheong and Egg Roe (Japanese) as well as the shrimp perfect. The lamb was too salty however the soup was perfect balance. Rate: 10/10

Overall good, I would get this again. Wonton Soup was good, the wontons were average size with shrimp and pork. Same broth they used for the noodles. Also came with 2 pieces of choy sum. I asked for one extra They ignored me then i asked two more times before they brought it over. So now I have two small sauce containers. These are tiny Then when the bill came I noticed they charged me $2 extra for the Hainan Chicken. It did not say $2,for the sauce but the price of the dish went up $2. I asked the waitress to explain. She was quite embarrassed to get caught. She begged me to forgive her and let it go. She said management made her add $2 to the price for the extra tiny sauce. What a cheap place. When you get your bill make sure you look. Never went back

Any time I find a Hong Kong cafe the nostalgia hits, and Garden Cafe is one of those places that I…read morewill definitely be returning to. What a shame that I am not in Castro Valley often enough. It has been difficult to find HK cafes that do set combos like they do in HK, but Garden Cafe has a selection of three classic HK combos that include an entree, buttered toast, and your choice of drink, all for an amazing price. These three combos are a quintessential aspect of HK cafe culture, and bring me back to when I used to frequent HK yearly and indulged in such combos for breakfast. This was my very first time at Garden Cafe, so of course I went with an HK combo. My pick this time was 雪菜肉絲米粉 (preserved veggie and shredded pork vermicelli soup), which is one of my favorite HK noodle soups. For my drink I went with classic HK milk tea, and upgraded to the iced version. The staff were very efficient (and of course speak Canto so I can practice), and my food was brought out super quickly. The majority of the other patrons also spoke Cantonese, and much more fluently than I do, so that's another indication of how you know the food is legit. The broth for my 雪菜肉絲米粉 was clear yet flavorful, the meat was tender, the veggies delightfully pickled, and the vermicelli not overcooked at all. The toast was thin, crunchy, and buttered nicely without being overwhelming. The HK milk tea was oh so good and as strong as it always is at every HK cafe I've ever been to. I ended up not finishing my noodle soup and brought it home to enjoy later, and also got the rest of my milk tea to go. Do note that Garden Cafe is super easy to miss if you're not paying attention. I completely passed by the parking lot the first time, since the building the restaurant is located in is recessed and connected to a liquor store. Parking is scarce, and I ended up parking in the tiny lot next to the liquor store. It's also located right across the street from Eden Medical Center. The neighboring parking lot is also part of a medical office and does not connect to the parking lot for the liquor store/restaurant. Regardless, I love eating at hole in the wall establishments and Garden Cafe is most certainly on my list to return to (and bring my husband next time) so I can try some more dishes they have to offer!
