We were driving around an unfamiliar area and noticed a pizza place we haven't tried. I'm a sucker for pizza so we made a point to return for a late lunch to try it. I was impressed. The inside was clean but looks like any run-of-the-mill pizza restaurant. They didn't overspend on the decor because they invested in their food instead! They offer two types of pizzas -- one with a doughy crust (which I prefer) but they will also make a pizza with thinner crust if you ask. They generously spread healthy chunks of sausage on the pizza, unlike many other pizza places in Colorado that either slice the sausage, roll it in little balls, or grind it up and sprinkle it on. I prefer the chunks. I also tried one of their Italian roast beef sandwiches. The gravy that came with it was flavorful and the beef was real sliced beef, not processed lunch meat like many beef sandwiches I've found around Denver. The best part of this restaurant....? I live within the area they deliver to! TIP: If you have children under 12, take them on Tuesdays when they eat for free. read more

I stopped in today to support MC1, the fallen police officer benefit, for the Golden police officer that was killed a few weeks ago. The building has great parking, is clean and well maintained. The staff were extremely nice and chatty. Our order was taken quickly and drinks delivered. Sadly, the order itself was horribly incorrect and not edible. I ordered a veggie calzone with extra mushrooms and NO black olives as they make me sick to my stomach. My friend ordered a spinach and ricotta calzone. We ordered them to go. When we got home, my calzone was full of black olives and her calzone was not cooked inside and too doughy to eat. We spent good money and didn't eat. That's always disappointing. Prior to today (1/5/24) I had been here to pick up pizzas a couple of times to take home. They advertise that the dough is made fresh daily in-house, and it really seemed to make a difference for me to enjoy and digest pizza. Mr H. and I were happy and impressed. But whoah! Today I dined in with my Mom and son, and all the food was exceptional. The pricing is very fair, and the freshness and quality of ingredients was evident in every dish. Mom had a Calzone, which was stuffed and fully baked. Son and I split Lasagne (meaty and cheesy awesomeness) and the meatball sandwich (same). The Marinara sauce is something special. The menu is so diverse and impressive.And I just realized my photo of the Winter special offerings didn't post. They had some great choices, including build-your-own pasta, Tortellini, and other tempting items. Love what they did with the black and white theme. From the custom mural to photographs, it really set a nice mood. And our server was attentive without hovering, so we felt comfortable lingering over our meal. read more

Just buy a frozen pizza.... Our pizza was burnt and the crust tastes premade and ordered in not like fresh dough. Between the burnt toppings and crust we were very disappointed. The mozzarella sticks taste and looked a lot like frozen mozzarella sticks that were nuked in a microwave. They were soggy and not even melted. We tried to pop them in the air fryer and that took them from a 2/10 to a 4/10. If you looking for fresh, homemade food, that you enjoy and is worth spending $35 on, this is NOT it. Very annoying when you order online and your food isn't ready when you show up. Ordered and got a text that it would be ready at 7pm, so I left the house. On the way, got another text that it would be ready at 7:08. Sat in the parking lot until then. Pizzas were ready, but they were "still working on the Cannolli", so I sat down in their lobby. I have never been to the actual restaurant, but I have ordered delivery from here at least twice per month for the last year. It's quirky and local, they do a few things differently, but I appreciate most of those things. 1) they are on Slice for delivery, which gives you better control of your pizza orders for things like split toppings, and rewards for regular use. I've also never had to call to track down my order because it texts you confirmation and when the order leaves the store. My order has never been incorrect and the one time I accidentally ordered the wrong thing, they were able to fix it for me with no issue. 2) they do not deliver a box. Instead they place the pizza on a cardboard circle and staple it into a big paper bag. Then this is boxed to keep warm/in-squished for delivery and the driver hands you the pizza, but keeps the box for reuse. I thought this was odd at first but find that I really appreciate not having all of that messy cardboard to throw out every time, it ends up easier for me and better for the environment. 3) the delivery driver is always a local young person, sometimes a guy but usually a very nice young woman who is friendly and often arrives 20-30 minutes earlier than the predicted arrival time. It's nice to see the same person repeatedly over time-says they probably treat their staff decently. 4) their salads are really good, have plenty of meat and cheese toppings, and the large is only a few bucks more than the small but about 4x the size. I get two whole meals from one large, and find myself craving it more than the pizza sometimes. 5) the crust-this is both positive and negative. It could be softer/chewier. They are definitely not using italian 00 flour or anything fancy like that. It could be more flavorful. It is often a little over cooked, like the oven was a bit too hot. But, it is never ever greasy. It reminds me of homemade pizza dough, which I don't dislike it's just not the same a most chain pizza dough. It has a lot less salt and fat than a domino's or papa John's and it's thick enough to hold up while still being close to New York style (not quite as thin). Because of this I don't feel gross and unhealthy after eating their pizza, unlike many other places. That actually keeps me coming back more often, if I don't want to deal with cooking but want healthy food, and the husband wants pizza, this is a good middle ground. 6) they are proud of their homemade sausage. It's not bad, but not my favorite. The meatballs, on the other hand, are great! Try them sliced on a pizza... so good! 7) their calzones, which are huge and which I like even more than the pizza, are all supposed to have ricotta, but they seem to forget to add it sometimes. It's definitely better with ricotta and I hope they'll be more aware of this, or update the menu to say ricotta is NOT included so I can add it as a topping. Despite having some room for improvement, overall I've been very satisfied with Saucys and have made them a go-to! read more

Used to love Saucy's but now they can't EVER seem to get our delivery order correct. My husband ordered me a cauliflower-crust Marghareta personal pizza (I have a gluten intolerance) and a Greek salad (my fav). Instead, I got a thick flour-crust personal pizza (ate only the cheese and tomato on top) and no Greek dressing (again...2nd time). Greek salad is not a Greek salad without Greek dressing. Had to use Olive Garden bottled Italian from fridge. Where's the quality check on food that goes out the door? Won't be ordering again any time soon. read more

Never being here, we figured why not try something new. For starters, it's not hand tossed, It's machine pressed. When I think of hand tossed, I think of someone tossing dough in the air and it being crispy on the bottom.. not pressed by. It goes through a conveyer belt and not a real pizza oven which if I had known in advance, I never would have ordered. There was plenty of toppings but the crust was terrible. Ordered a few piazza's last night from here, as we have in the past. My family has had good experiences in the past (1+ years ago), but I'm afraid it has gone down hill from then. From the beginning with ordering 3 pies for delivery (@5pm), the order taker (sounded like a young lady) was unpleasant to say the least. She was short, rude and unknowledgeable of the product her company was selling. Following placing our order, she informed us the delivery will take approximately 45min. After about 1hr 15min, I reached out to the establishment for a status update, the same order taker from earlier explained the delivery driver was not back yet and it would take approximately 20 more mins. I offered to pic up the pizza's, due to how busy it was and she informed my this is not necessary as it is not ready yet (in her typical annoyed tone). After another 20+ mins it arrived. I tipped the driver as I always do and I proceeded to begin to bring the pies in my home and serve to my family. When serving the pies I notice they have been out oven the warmer/over for some time, as they were room temp. Upon eating one of the pieces I noticed an unfamiliar texture and ceased to eat further. Early this morning I was awaken with sever lower abdomen pain and my body commenced the work of extracting all contents of my digestive track. Unfortunately, multiple individuals in our dinner party experienced the same conditions. I've ordered from Saucy"s several times. The pizzas I've received are very good. I recommend Saucy's to anyone looking for a decent pie. The ONLY complaint I have is their Bucket of Spaghetti. They were stingy with the sauce. As I was serving this to guests, I had to go buy more spaghetti sauce. The sauce provided was tasty, but only covered the first layer of spaghetti. We're a big fan of their pizza's and calzones. They offer an easy process for delivery, and are much better then franchise corporate pizza, by far! If they had $1 or $2 beers, or maybe a Happy Hour.
