It came with a side salad and bread roll for $7.99. I chose the house salad which was a light vingarette. The manicotti was just enough for a lunch serving. 5 years ago when we crossed the river we were super excited to find this place, the pizza was amazing. As of yesterday 6/18/2022 it will be our last time visiting. It has progressively gotten worse over the years. I understand Covid was rough on everyone, but it's almost as if they are not even trying. Number one it's always warm in the building. The salad comes out and nothing is crisp or cold. They have cut their menu so short it's hard to find something to order. The pasta sauce was watery and without taste. The pizza crust was burnt it multiple places. My chicken parm. Was a breaded chicken patty with a piece of cheese and hardly any sauce. Just overall depressing. It is family owned and I can appreciate that and want them to succeed. But if you don't care, I'm not gonna think twice about writing a review. read more

Authentic North County St. Louis Style pizza! In the elite class with Ponticello's, Pirrone's, et al. Saullo's is so freaking good.

Pizza is good. Salad decent.. if you're ok with a green over cooked hard boiled egg. But the anything else I have ever gotten has been a disappointment. For $8.49 we received 6 wings, one which had no meat, no dipping sauce. Toasted ravs.. came with 6 tiny ravs. So over priced for what you get. I will not be back.. which is a shame bc this used to be a great establishment. I know covid has messed with prices and service, but taking advantage of long time customers is disappointing. read more

Haven't been here for quite a while and we were worried about some of the negative reviews. However, everything was just as delicious or better than our previous visits. The mostacciolli and meatballs were superb. My husband said it was the best he ever had. Our pizza, cheese garlic bread and salad were just as good as we remembered. One of the things I regretted most about graduating from SEMO in Cape Girardeau in the 70's was leaving Pagliai's Pizza behind. Well it turns out that it eventually resurfaced at this place, rectangular pizza pan and all! Wonderful thin crust and great cheeses and meats. My wife and I were hoping to bring some of the 16" two-topping pizza home with but just pigged it all down (mostly me). So delicious! Let me start out by saying I wish Yelp allowed 1/2 stars as I think Saullo's was better than 4, just not quite 5 stars. Secondly, and this does not affect my review; but they carry Pepsi products. Personally I prefer Coke and oftentimes that's a consideration if we're deciding between multiple places to dine. I went with two friends of mine, I know one of them (possibly both) have been here before but I had not. The first thing I noticed was that the place was *very* clean - we got there about 6pm, and oftentimes at that time of the evening restaurants aren't necessary clean. It was obvious that they were cleaning as they went which always scores points for me. We were greeted promptly, which is another thing that often suffers at this time of night, so things were off to a good start. Our server took our drink orders and quickly returned and got our dinner orders. I had the toasted ravioli along with a dinner salad, and both of my friends had pasta. The dinner salad was good, but not great. As with Adam E's review, I was a bit surprised that there wasn't even a hint of cheese on it; but that fact aside I had no complaint with it. In fact I was pleasant surprised that it contained a nice amount of dressing - all too often I get salads that either have virtually none or are drowned in dressing. The toasted ravioli was surprisingly good. There were a dozen of them with a nice amount of marinara and a roll. I wish the roll had been warm instead of room temperature, but that's a minor quibble. The ravioli themselves were not overly large, but I found myself full upon finishing them so I think they were reasonably sized. My check came to $12.xx with tax for the meal which I think was reasonable (the ravioli w/the salad and roll was $8.95). All in all a very nice dinner and I'll be back. And a comment on the review by Ken G. A one star review because he showed up when they were closed? I have no qualms with a restaurant closing between 2pm-4pm if they so choose, plenty of restaurants do similar things so to hit them with a 1 star review over that seemed inappropriate to me. read more

I feel like I got led astray from Yelp on this one. Completely underwhelmed. The food was bland and meh at best. The lasagna was way over cooked, noodles way too mushy. Salads had way to much dressing on them, and were nothing more than a plate of iceberg lettuce with a few onions on top. We've had hit and miss meals here. One time we ordered hot wings and got all wingettes, no drumettes. Very disappointing because it's hard to understand why a cook would do something like that. It has to be intentional. I called and they did gIve me credit for the next order. Last Friday we just ordered pizza and when going to ee at it we realized it was not cut through. I am only giving one star because I have to give something. im not really sure what happened to this place. we went to eat lunch at saullos yesterday off Muegge rd . we ordered, after ordering and being treated terrible (asking for a straw apparently is not okay), we noticed a young child playing at the corner table with his toys. our food came, the mostaccioli came and it was two three day old noodles, re warmed and water in the bottom. the sauce was black and the meat was burned(literally black) and dumped on top of the sauce. the salads had literally a drop of dressing. she got upset when asking for more. the pickles tasted rotten!!! they tasted fermented. my other daughter got wings(bone in and plain)with bbq sauce and when they arrived, I thought the "oh, I did not know they had chocolate pudding. " it was not pudding, it was bbq sauce that was black and old. my pizza, which I have always been a fan of, was not edible. I did not eat it. my nephew could not eat his wings and my daughter had a burger and fries. she could only eat the meat nothing else. it was pitiful... I know kids will be kids and pick their noses... this little boy was coughing and picking his nose , no mask, and was BAREFOOT running through the kitchen. ????? what? that is when we paid our 89$ bill for food that was not edible. and left. im not sure what's going there now, but its awful ! This place was AWFUL! To begin with, the decor is very dated and unattractive. Chairs and table clothes were very worn and had rips. The painted cement floors were cracked. The walls were in desperate need of re-painting. As for the food, it was beyond bad. They say they make their own sauces, but I know canned spaghetti sauce when I taste it, and that is what was served, both with the appetizers and my entree. For appetizers, my boyfriend and I selected several: fried mozzarella, toasted rav, fried mushrooms and garlic bread. He ordered the meat lovers pizza, and I order the ravioli with a side salad. We knew that was a lot of food, but we figured we could take any leftovers home with us. The mushrooms, ravs and mozzarella were obviously frozen, and, as I mentioned earlier, served with bowls of canned (very blah) sauce. The garlic bread was nothing special, not buttery or garlicky, just blah. Also, the mushrooms were not cooked properly. The inside was cold and the breading raw, even though they were brown on the outside. Too high of a heat to cook properly. Sadly, as bad as the appetizers were, they were the best part of my meal. For my salad, I ordered the blue cheese dressing, which was runny, sweet and tasted NOTHING like blue cheese. For those of you keeping score, blue cheese dressing should be tangy and savory, never sweet. The salad consisted of finely chopped iceberg lettuce, a slice of a mealy tomato and half of a boiled egg that should have NEVER been served to a customer. It had been over boiled to the point of having a blue ring around the yolk. Vile. My boyfriend's pizza was completely unremarkable. It was something that apparently tried to mimic Imo's, but with even less flavor than Imo's. I took a bite, but could not eat more than that, because I hate Imo's, and it was even worse than that. The crowning jewel (much sarcasm here) of the meal, however, was my ravioli with meat sauce. The sauce was the same bland, canned sauce as with the appetizers, with the added benefit of a chopped up fried hamburger patty mixed in. Not simmered in, mind you, but mixed in as an afterthought. Most of the meat had no sauce clinging to it at all. The raviolis themselves were again something taken from the freezer and not cooked properly. They were cold and uncooked to the point that they clumped together and formed an amorphous inedible mass at the bottom of the dish. Lastly, to add insult to injury, this complete waste of a meal cost over 60$ for food that I could have prepared better with my eyes closed. read more

Was pleasantly surprised - very low-key store front however the food was not low-key. Husband and I stopped in for lunch - first time visit. Felt very comfortable. The host/manager/owner spent time with us sharing about their food, their community commitment and more. We ordered a small Italian Sausage/Schroom pizza - one word - DELICIOUS! The lowest I could give was a 1. I placed a takeout order over the phone at 6:45pm on a Sunday night and I asked if I had to come in or could I just call for curbside. I was told to call when I arrived, I did and then waited for over an hour. I finally had enough and I called back and told them to cancel the order. I absolutely love this pizza and have eaten here many times over the last 10 years. The owner is very friendly, takes her time to talk to customers, and makes sure the place is kept clean. It is family ran with one server and helper during the week, and sometimes it can get very busy in there.in a matter of minutes. No matter how busy they are, I always get good, if not great service. Their pizza is still home made by hand, rolled with a rolling pin, and cooked in a brick oven. You cant find that kind of pizza anymore, anywhere! I never write reviews unless it's a good one. I wish I could say how wonderful this place is and how delicious their food is but the truth is no one would take our order. It wasn't all that busy, maybe half the tables available, yet everyone coming in behind us received attention. We were seated by a hostess and brought a drink, that was it. The servers were all around us passing by our table left and right as I tried to catch someone's attention. This went on for 10 minutes. But as soon as one server sat down with the couple next to us who were just seated, we left. I've been a server and know customer service. This sucked. Instead of trying a new place, we were extremely disappointed. Sorry, Saullo's. You get one star because we did get a table and a drink. Pay attention to your customers. I think this place is known for their good pizza. I made the mistake and I ordered the Beer Battered Cod dinner and my wife ordered a salad. My dinner looked like it was from a school cafeteria. The Cod was square and definitely pulled from a frozen package and just popped in the oven. The french fries tasted stale. On top of that, the Tatar sauce they brought out for the fish seriously came in a tear open packet (like a squeeze ketchup packet). How cheap and unsatisfying is that? Absolutely no effort or presentation to the meal. I could have went to a cheap grocery store and made that meal for less than $5.00 My wife's salad was literally flooded in dressing and was extremely basic. I'll prob give this place another chance but this time I will go with the pizza. read more
