Today was my first time at Savante Salon. I had requested on Yelp a salon that would best fit my needs and Savante answered first. They sent me a text and requested photos of what I had currently and what my goals were. I asked about pricing and was provided very fair pricing. I set my apt and was lucky to get the owner herself, Stephanie who also happens to be a Kevin Murphy educator. Being involved in salon management in the past I was very pleased to get an educator. Stephanie and I went over how she would help me achieve what I wanted and we revisited pricing. She was fast and very precise. I got just what I wanted and was very pleased with the results. Needless to say, I made my next appointment already. The salon was big, open, clean, the retail area was exceptionally well stocked with Kevin Murphy products. I have never been more disappointed in a hair cut and color. I'm new to Gilbert and decided to take a chance on this new salon due to its raving reviews. I'm sad to say I totally regret my decision. I asked my stylist for a trim and some subtle blonde highlights, wanting to keep some of my natural hair color. Maybe communication was at fault on my end, as I only booked the appointment for a partial highlight but didn't specify that to my stylist once I arrived as we were talking before she got started. I ended up getting a full head of blonde highlights. While she was foiling I realized it was probably too much, but I don't get my hair done much and wanted to trust her in the process. In the end I wound up with way more blonde than I was anticipating, and a really odd hair cut that is uneven. My stylist did say she would add a few layers, which I agreed to, but I have gotten layers before and they definitely do not look like this. I was also very disappointed to see that the tips of my hair are much more blonde than the rest. Overall an uneven cut and color. I paid $200 to waste 3 hours of my day and feel a lot worse about myself. I'm sorry Savante Salon, I definitely won't be back. read more

Yesterday I called and left a message for the owner. She called a couple hours later and I explained everything. Prior to her call I found a yelp review from another woman who had a bad experience with Tanya as well. However when I told this to the owner she said that she hadnt seen any bad yelp reviews and she's very surprised to hear that I wasn't happy because according to all the other girls in the salon, I was. Clearly if I had loved the outcome I wouldn't be calling to complain, I'd be booking my next appointment. She refused to do any kind of refund but offered to do my hair herself. So I drove the 45 minute drive to Gilbert from Maricopa only to find out her recommendation is to leave my hair alone. She offered to put in highlights but the issue wasn't the level of color, it was the tone I hated. Being an orangy/yellow instead of an ash is what bothered me. My hair looked better before it was ever touched by them. I had worked so hard at getting the brassiness out and now it was back. I showed her several reference pictures, the same pictures I showed Tanya and again was told my hair looked like the pictures. No it didn't. She kept saying that the color is beautiful, but it wasn't to me. I asked if she could put a nice brunette color over the orange and just leave the blonde pieces alone but was told that she knew I wanted to be blonde so she was hesitant on making me darker. I felt like I kept getting excuses and just gave up. I don't like arguing with people. She made me feel like it was my fault that I got this color. She said I was so dark when I came in. I told her I wasnt dark, I was quite blonde. I showed her a picture that I took on Monday and she questioned the time frame of my picture as if I was showing her an old one or something. As far as the cut she apologized that it wasn't the cut I wanted but according to the other girls in the salon apparently it was. Shoulder length hair isn't long hair. Again I was made to feel it was my issue. She offered me back my gratuity and $20 off my next service with her. I was fighting back tears. You know those people that will argue and demand things, etc... yeah that's not me. I'm an introvert, a suffer in silence kind of personality. Another thing is Tanya was in the salon and instead of apologizing or trying to make things right, she wore a girly, sparkly baseball type hat and would hold the bill of her hat down when she walked by me, as if I couldn't see it was her! Seriously!? I took a shower this morning and was combing out my hair and noticed a huge gap in my cut!!! I couldn't believe it. I thought maybe I parted it weird, nope, it's parted where I always part it. So then I went back and looked at pictures I had text to my mom and there it was! A gap in the cut! I didn't even notice it when I took the picture! And what's more is that the owner touched and looked at my hair several times and she didn't notice it either. I'm sure somehow the gap in my cut is my fault as well. So even though the color is not at all what I wanted, the cut is awful and the service wasn't great either but I'm not entitled to a full refund? Completely unacceptable!! I'm so done with this salon and won't ever return. If you value your long hair don't go here. If you like butchered hair then by all means go for it. When I flat ironed my hair, it looks so ridiculous. It looks like I gave scissors to a child and let them have at it. I'm so upset. One side is straight but uneven and chunky and the other is completely chopped up... I'm going to have to clip my hair back for months until it grows long enough that I can cut the excess to match. Lovely.. Worst anniversary weekend ever! Then I got a voicemail from Stephanie, the owner, who told me due to my Yelp review I'm no longer welcome at her salon. So apparently instead of acting like a professional she's taking this personally. She doesn't want to admit that her associate ruined my hair and wants to believe her salon is perfect. That's fine. After how I've been treated I would never go back. I called my bank who refunded me the amount I lost and she'll have to deal with them who will be calling her to collect my loss. I also put a complaint on BBB and with the board of cosmetology. This is not a place of professionalism or has any consideration for their clients but only their pockets. Beware of giving any criticism, they'll inform you that you are not welcome to return. Very sad. read more

So much so that I've also entrusted her with the manes of my daughters, ages 15 and 10. With that said, her range is amazing and all three of us gals leave there, every time, very happy with our do's. Tiffany is also an excellent colorist. The new stylist Chauntel is amazing! I came in for a blowout and my hair looked and felt so awesome. My hair had such bounce and it lasted for a good 4-5 days! The following week I came back for a haircut and once again she did a wonderful job! I had a weird layer of hair that I'm trying to grow out from when I had damaged my hair; She was able to blend that weird layer out so you couldn't even see it. I'm so in love with my haircut, she didn't take too much off and it feels so much lighter. I get compliments on my new haircut everyday and everyone is asking me where I got it done. I would recommend Chauntel to anyone looking for a great blowout and a great haircut! Shes so sweet and really puts you at ease, shes also very professional. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I went in to get a Brazilian Blowout. Normally, I would go to my normal hair stylist but she's pregnant and can't do it. When I went on the search for someone else to do it, I remembered that I had gone to Savante Salon when the covid shut down thing happened for my Brazilian blowout and they (the stylist) did a great job. So naturally I'd go back..... Fast forward a year and a half.... Today, the person who did my hair seems to be a nice person, no complaints on that front. She even told me if it didn't turn out like it normally does she'd redo it. I Specifically asked if it doesn't come out like normal can I come back and they do it again. She said Yes of course. And when I left I told the receptionist, I wasn't sure it turned out the way it normally does; the look, and the feel didn't seem right. She blew me off, she was not a very nice person. I told her I'd go home and wash it and see if that made a difference... Something just didn't feel right. I went home and did that and still it wasn't like it normally is and then I thought well, let me go ask my normal hair stylist for her opinion... She knew I was going to someone else for the blowout, so she wasn't upset that I went to someone else. And she agreed with me, it didn't look as shiny as a normal blowout and wasn't as soft as a normal blowout. If you've never had a blowout, it's normally supposed to feel like butter... Like can't keep my hands out of my hair, it's feels so soft. Anyways, a few hours after my appointment I went back to Savante and asked for it to be redone and the receptionist said it turned out the way it was supposed to. Mind you, she didn't even feel my hair...I explained that it isn't the way it's suppose to be, I've been getting them done for 3 years, (once with them), so I know how it's suppose to feel and look like. A blowout isn't cheap! With tip it comes close to $300, that's a lot of money to not make sure it's as expected, especially if I'm asking for it to be redone, not for my money back...She said no on the redo so I asked for my money back and she said no. This isn't some $30 root touch-up, with that I'd probably be like oh well, I go somewhere else to get it fixed. It's a big chunk of change! Also, when the receptionist went and talked with her owner, the owner didn't even come out and talk to me herself. And they told me the owner would call me that night, but she did not. Poor customer service and business practice. Sucks, because I would have most likely gone back there for my color and highlights since my normal girl is going on maternity leave soon. So they lost out on at least another $800! And I also wanted to have a backup salon for the future. And my normal girl told me that she was waiting to see if I liked it and and was going to refer 5 other people there within a month. That won't be happening now. It still might have if they had honored their word and redid the work as they should have. read more

While my stylist was extremely kind and inviting, I can't find it within me to rate my experience anything above 1 star. My consultation as to what I wanted done was a mutual understanding between my stylist and I, though I left with a completely different service done to my hair, which didn't change the tone (the issue at hand) at all. I was expecting to have foil & a brightening appointment and instead left looking identical to when I arrived 35 minutes earlier. As someone who's owned and operated a business myself, I waited to hear from the owner as promised, and didn't. Upon calling back to check on the process of a refund for the service, I was "our owner doesn't do refunds." Again, my stylist was quite possibly the most kind, down to earth woman, nothing against her, but this simply isn't the way to conduct business with a first time customer who received quite literally the opposite of what was spoken about in the consultation and paid full price. read more
