It's pretty quiet and has the appropriate level of music for more intimate conversations if needed. SERVICE When we sat down, we were immediately greeted with menus and coffee and other drink orders were taken. Our server was attentive and ensured we had refills every so often. FOOD Menu changes every so often but was surprised by intriguing twist on various sweet and savory options (e.g. Turkish eggs, labneh and granola, bang bang shrimp). I was in the mood for classics, so I ordered an eggs benedict with a side of berries instead of the fries, and it was as solid as it gets. Got what I asked for and had no complaints. Went to dinner before a great show at Hill Hall. Our waitress explained the menu in so much detail and told us her favorites. Based on her recommendation we all ordered the capellini marlon. (Saffron butter sauce with shrimp and lobster over angel hair pasta.) We also ordered the hummus and Brussel sprouts as starters. Everything was delicious! I've been to Sava's many times over the years. I don't think this place is that great. The food was good but not worth the high prices. Our server the last visit was terrible- forgot to bring things, slow, etc. The decor and interior are nice. Summer in Ann Arbor is a great time to try all the restaurants if you are in town. This was one visit where we didn't stop at Culver's or fast food. We were returning from Michigan Speedway and looking to see if any restaurants were open late on a Sunday night. We have been wanting to try this but it is always booked around for special UM events. We made a reservation for 9:15pm and they had reservations as late as 9:30pm. Upon arrival, we were surprised how busy Sava's was at this hour. We ordered the Brussel sprouts appetizer and it was excellent. We each ordered a different entree and they were excellent as well. My daughter had the Mac and cheese and exclaimed this was the best she's ever had (she is a Mac and cheese snob). The salmon was cooked to perfection. It was the fastest we've ever eaten at an establishment like this (they weren't rushing us) because it was really good! If it wasn't so late, we would have stayed for dessert. Service is friendly and efficient. There is table and booth seating and there is a second level for additional seating. The restaurant has a romantic cozy feel with the dim lighting. Great ambiance for a farewell dinner. Came here at 5pm during the week (made reservations), which was the perfect time before the rush. Very bright and open for natural lighting. Wait staff was very friendly and bubbly with great recommendations. Establishment is a tri-level of sorts: bathrooms are downstairs, middle level is the kitchen and dining, and upstairs appeared to be more of a private dining setting. The entire place has been remodeled and has a open concept. Food and beverage: drinks are very yummy but I was a bit taken back by such a small glass for their signature cocktail for the price tag accompanying it. Due yourself a favor and order your classic cocktail not on the menu (they have a full bar) and you'll get a regular sized glass. Food options were pretty limited BUT still delicious. Salads were delicious Parking: there is street parking but I'd recommend snagging a spot in one of the nearby structures. Attire: some of us came right from work so we were in scrubs. The guest of honor had on golf course attire and I wore professional attire, as I too came from work. It's pretty trendy with an upscale feel so I would keep your jeans at home read more

Very pleased with attentive service for party of ten: kept water glasses full and checked back frequently. The FreeBee mocktails was amazing: the crème de la cream mocktails was not so great. The Brussels sprouts were completely amazing: something about the pomegranate lessened the taste of the char to an extremely pleasant level. The salmon was similarly memorable in terms of both flavor and presentation. The carrot cake was quite tasty: it was not one of those massive pieces but more compact and fabulously moist (more like a brownie square minus the chocolate with just the correct amount of sweet. The Hippy Bowl was a bit unremarkable except for the literally perfect specimen golf avocado. The Greek salad was a huge portion. The chocolate dessert would be well worth the try. Sava's was a very beautiful restaurant that we went to based on all the great reviews. My teenage sons both had the baked Mac-n-cheese with grilled chicken and I had the bocconcini panini with grilled chicken. The food was okay, because in all 3 cases the chicken was so dry it was hard to eat. In addition, we were not informed that the addition of the grilled chicken was an additional $8/dish, which seems completely unreasonable. In total, lunch for 3 was $107! The service was fine, but they gave us such tiny glasses we had to ask for water several times during our lunch. I'm not sure we will return based on our experience. read more

AH-mazing. We made reservations for a Friday night at 5:15. The restaurant was so pretty with tons of natural light. They had fancy velvet boots where we sat. Their drink of the day was a spritz with mango pure. It was very fresh, not overly sweet, but it's tons of bubbles. All of our food was very good. My friend ordered the lemon zatar chicken and she said it was very good. Their shoestring fries were also very crispy with a great seasoning. I loved my capellini marlon. Sava's has blipped onto my foodar (food+radar) because I absolutely LOVE The Dixboro Project (or Boro To Go) and they share the same owner and head chef, etc. So, I made a reservation as a couple of friends were coming to visit. The Sava's crew is so accommodating - seriously some top notch service: *I made a reservation on Tock (from their website) but called to check to see if they have outdoor seating (which they do!) and they quickly updated the reservation *Offer cake cutting! It is a $1/pp charge which is really reasonable. Our server, Kendall, was great! It was her first day serving and she ROCKED IT. We started with some apps: *burrata (grilled pita, eggplant and tomato relish, butternut squash, lemon oregano vinaigrette) - I ADORE burrata. This was a tasty spring dish! *sweetie fries served with sweetie sauce - I don't usually love sweet potato fries but I enjoyed their version! It was the perfect crisp but had a nice fluffy texture inside. It was also really nicely seasoned! For my main, I ended up ordering an appetizer: *Bang Bang Shrimp (brown rice cake, herbs) - three giant pieces of shrimp! The sauce was addictively sweet & sour. I should've ordered an extra side of shrimp to scoop all the sauce up! When I first read "rice cake," I was thinking the cardboard discs at the grocery store and this is SO Far from that. I LOVED the texture of the brown rice cake - crispy on the outside and perfectly chewy on the inside. Brussel Sprouts - this wasn't on the menu for some reason BUT it's a must get. Perfectly crispy, savory & just a bit of sweetness from the balsamic glaze. Had an unbelieveably delicious Caesar salad here, to which I added grilled chicken (not overcooked, thank you!!). The salad was quite pleasantly salty and with tons of umami from anchovies in the dressing. The croutons were olive-oily and savory, and the leaves were not at all overdressed, so everything remained crunchy and snappy. A generous lacy dusting of grated curled Parmesan was a welcome addition to the texture. The portion size was generous but not overbearing, so I finished everything and felt satiated. An IPA on draft (Bell's Two Hearted) to start and a glass of French rosé were a perfect foil to the perfectly agressive dressing. This might be the most delicious Caesar salad I've ever had... Will delightfully come back to this restaurant on future trips to Ann Arbor. I sat at the bar, and my only petty little complaint would be that the bar does not extend out far enough, so to be reasonably close to the bartop when you're eating you have to slam your knees into the bar and it's not very comfortable. #firstworldproblem Looking forward to my next visit! read more

This is the first restaurant that we have been to that felt like their pre-pandemic version. We went for lunch on a Thursday and sat outside on their patio with our dog. Our server was friendly and our food arrived quickly (frankly, faster than it often did pre pandemic). They serve breakfast until 3 pm so I had the delicious Eggs Benedict. The sandwich and salad choices are much more limited than they used to be. Right now they have Greek and Caesar salads, a black bean wrap, burger, and a Cuban sandwich. High quality vegetarian takeout that doesn't take a nose dive in freshness with transportation home. We had the roasted broccolini, gemelli with mushroom bolognese, potato and cauliflower gnocchi. The broccolini were well cooked, just barely charred at the tips, topped with grated beets and parmesan cheese in a sweet and tart vinaigrette. As far as appetizers go, this had it all; sweet, savory, salty, and tangy. The bolognese sauce on the gemelli made me forget that I was eating vegetarian food. The sauce felt and tasted "meaty" (I confirmed that it was vegetarian when I was ordering). There was just a touch of heat to the sauce. The gnocchi were fantastic. The creamy sauce with goat cheese, mushroom, and spinach was perfectly rich, earthy, herby, and dense. There were hints of basil and leek in the sauce, and I polished off every little bit of it that I could. A meal for two came out to just under $60 and we were both full when all was said and done. For vegetarian food of this caliber, I cannot think of a restaurant that I have enjoyed more . I will definitely be back. read more
